The COVID-19 pandemic has shown in very short order how fragile the economic existence of the precariat is. If you are an artist, cultural worker, freelance content creator, or creative gig worker, you have likely already seen work opportunities disappear, and are likely anticipating more.

Organizations and individuals trying to respond in solidarity and support need information on just what the scale of the situation is. Please fill in below your own experience of lost work, cancellations, and economic uncertainty. Be as accurate as you can; this is intended to be a snapshot that can be shared with relief orgs to ensure that their response is proportional. It is not necessary to identify yourself. Share this sheet with your networks of similarly-affected workers.

This information is anonymous and will be channeled to regional arts organizations, their funder networks, foundations, and government arts and culture agencies.

Spotify et al. does not pay enough to support independent artists! Without live income I am backed into a corner with a non-viable system that does not meet a living wage. Between the performance fees we receive for live appearances, and the sales, streaming, and merchandise that boosts, the touring experience is the most financially foundational to our independent music economy... and it is now gone.
