Since its breakthrough premiere, Steven's work on POSE has received a Peabody Award, two AFI Awards for TV Program of the Year, plus Emmy, Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award nominations for Best Drama Series, among many other accolades. Steven also received nominations from the Writers Guild Awards for 'Outstanding New Series' and the Imagen Awards for 'Best Director - Television'.


He is also the winner of the GLAAD Media Award for 'Outstanding Drama Series,' the 2020 Final Draft Awards' 'New Voice Award for TV,’ and The Point Foundation’s Horizon Award, recognizing a trailblazer who has taken a leadership role as an advocate of the LGBTQ community. This bi-annual sojourn between Hawaii and New Mexico lasted until Carlos was eighteen and from then on got to decide for himself which parent he’d disappoint that Christmas.


Starting with a background in playwriting, he moved into television, starting as an assistant on East Los High and Star Trek: Discovery where he eventually moved up to Story Editor.



Aside from television, he has a feature in production and one in active development. He also stumbled into a fairly successful side hustle as a narrative designer for table top role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons and Star Trek Adventures.



Carlos often uses his experience growing up as a perpetual fish out of water as a jumping off point for many of his characters. He writes about those characters on the periphery; those that remain hidden or fall between the cracks. Being bi-racial and gay has definitely informed this as he’s often felt on the outside looking in, straddling two worlds, and his characters tend to reflect that experience. While he’s dabbled in all areas of genre, horror remains closest to his heart.

This work includes endeavors like Gamboa’s critically acclaimed webseries BRUJOS about gay Latino doctoral students that are also witches fighting white supremacy, as well as their radical underground traveling news show The Hoodoisie that reaches hundreds of Chicagoans monthly. Gamboa is currently completing their doctorate degree at New York University’s American Studies program and a Critical Collaborations Fellow at the Tisch School of the Arts, where they earned their M.A in Arts and Politics. Ricardo has won several awards including a Joyce Award and an International Connections Award from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. They are passionate about creating media that is not satisfied with just “diverse representation” but offers radical insights, politics and visions to the audience and that is reflected in the production processes.

In 2014, Raymond graduated from UT Austin with a business degree and a film degree. He received his Master’s in Screenwriting in 2019 from the American Film Institute with support from scholarships from the AFI Conservatory, as well as the Cheech Marin Scholarship from the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation. Most recently, Raymond was selected as part of the inaugural 2021 Out Loud List by Out in Hollywood, highlighting the best unproduced television scripts centered on queer people written by queer people for his pilot The Only Gay in Waco and received mentorship from Dara Resnik and Moisés Zamora. He is currently securing financing to independently produce his debut feature as a screenwriter – Ellie’s War on Christmas. He considers himself the gay Latino Drew Barrymore in that his characters think they have to be like the cool kids, only to discover that their power is being their authentic nerdy selves. When Raymond isn’t writing at his kitchen table, he can be found on the dance floor getting down to salsa, merengue, bachata, Brazilian funk y cumbia.

Prior to that, he was the Spanish script translator for USA’s QUEEN OF THE SOUTH. Jorge earned his MFA in Film Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. In addition, Jorge produced three short documentaries for George Lucas about his life and work to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his film AMERICAN GRAFFITI. In 2015, Jorge completed the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s TV Writers Program sponsored by NBC and ABC. Jorge is a member of CLUBHOUSE, a fellowship of gay Latinx screenwriters in Hollywood. Showcase, Project Involve, and a recipient of Will & Jada Smith's
Family Foundation feature development grant. Ben’s also
written/directed the award-winning short BETTAS ("Best LGBTQ Short,"
IFS LA Film Festival), and the Apollo Award nominated short, ALPHA;
his comedy shorts DIET & EXERCISE and STONED BREAKUPS: DANIEL have
screened at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival in the
past. Before coming out as a full-blown artist, Ben assisted the

At twenty-five years old, he became the recipient of the Binational Literary Prize for Young Novel Border of Words for his coming-of-age novel Susurros Bajo El Agua. A graduate of Brown University, he was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of eleven. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
