The Hydro steward as also been presenting at GIS gatherings such as GIS Day, and local conferences. We have a draft Strategic Plan for hydrography and will begin working on a Hydrography Plan soon. We have also been conducting targeted meetings with agencies to better understand the impacts of changing from NHD to 3DHP in the business.

StateNo3D Geomatics Committee has been in place since 2018, and there is a specific workgroup focused on 3DHP, the Hydrogeomorphology Workgroup. This workgroup includes members from federal, state, local governments as well as private entities. Activity has been focused on inventorying existing state hydrography data and whether it is meeting user needs. Minnesota has started looking forward to what lidar-derived hydrography will look like for MN.

Supplementary data to assist with the creation of elevation derived hydrography has been ongoing since 2018. A subgroup focused on DEM hydro-modification (3D hydro-modification subgroup) has been collecting breachlines that identify locations of water conveyance features under roads.
