Book Log
7
This is where you record the books that you have read. These titles and authors are what the Bingo Card uses to create the dropdown menus.
8
Optionally, to the right is an area you can use to categorize the books in your list into their possible bingo categories (useful if a book fits into multiple categories). If you use this area, books will only show up in the dropdown menu for the squares you have marked. If you do not do this, books will show up in all dropdown menus.
9
In the dropdown area, there is an option to track whether you meet the hard mode requirements for a specific category with a book. Select 'h' instead of 'x' to count a book toward hard mode.

11
In cells AG1 through AK1 (the upper right) you can note potential themes for your bingo card(s). Change the text "Theme #" to the name of your theme. You can note which books fit the theme using the grid below the theme name.

Bingo Card
14
Here is where you will fill out your card to track your progress. Each square comes with a dropdown menu for you to select an appropriate book title.
15
In cell F23 (below the short story squares; it has a small gray triangle in it by default) you can select a theme for the card from among those entered on the Book Log. Doing so will limit your choices of books on this card to only those marked for the specific theme. To go back to full book lists, delete the theme from this cell.
16
As you enter books into your bingo cards, the cards will color themselves based on your choices: If a book or author is duplicated on the same card, or multiple books are marked as reread, they will be marked as Individual Card Errors (IC-Error). If Books are duplicated across multiple bingo cards, they will be marked as Cross-Card Errors (CC-Error). If the book and author have no errors and fulfill normal mode criteria for the square, they will be marked as Normal. If they fulfill hardmode criteria for the square, they will be marked as HardMode.
17
Below are the default colors used for each status. To customize the default colors, change the background color of the appropriate cell below and run the Refresh All option from the Bingo Scripts menu.

In addition, if you change the tab color of one or more of your bingo cards (click the arrow next to the tab name below and choose "Change color") and run the Refresh All option from the Bingo Scripts menu (or use the checkbox above), the books used on any bingo cards that are colored will be marked as that color on the Book Log tab to help sort out which books are being used where. If a book is used on multiple cards, it will default to the CC-Error color above. Once a tab color is changed and the refresh has been run, the book colors should update automatically as you change them on the bingo cards. It will need to be run again if you add more bingo cards or change tab colors.

Extra Bingo Cards
27
If you would like to track multiple Bingo Cards using the same books, you can do so by duplicating the existing card and changing your book selections.
28
To duplicate a sheet, click the arrow next to the sheet name and choose Duplicate from the list of options. If you add a sheet to this workbook other than a bingo card, you will also need to add its name to the exclusions list in Column O of the Data tab (currently hidden). Whenever you add or rename a bingo card, you will need to run the Refresh All or Refresh Sheet List option from the Bingo Scripts menu.

Visual Card, Visual Card (Darkmode), Visual Card (Condensed)
31
This is your no-hassle way to create a pretty visual bingo card full of book covers! The Bingo Card will attempt to search Goodreads for an appropriate book cover automatically, but the search can be somewhat inaccurate. To add a preferred book cover, simply place a direct link to an image of the cover in the 'Book Cover' column on the Book Log tab. You can choose only one cover at a time for the short stories. There is a drop down for this square on the Bingo Card tab just like the others. Pick the story you would like to showcase and the sheet will do the rest. If you enjoy the darkmode verision of the visual card, thank my wife. It was her request. If you are tracking multiple bingo cards, you may choose which to display by choosing its tab name from the dropdown below the picture of Gandalf Snoo in the upper left.
32
My favorite way to find cover images is to:
33
1) Locate the book on Goodreads
34
2) Hover over its cover picture
35
3) Right-click the image and choose 'Copy Image Address'. This is the link you will paste into the Book Log.
36
If you wish to generate an image file of your card, follow these steps:
37
1) Make sure you are on the Visual Card tab.
38
2) File > Print (or keyboard shortcut)
39
3) Make sure to select Portrait layout, not Landscape.
40
4) Under 'Scale', select 'Fit to Page'
41
5) Click the 'Next' option to proceed to printing
42
6) Select a PDF printer, which will vary by computer. Any PDF printer will work. The goal is to generate a PDF version of your bingo card.
43
7) Convert the PDF to a JPG/PNG image. Adobe offers a free tool to do this, available at https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/pdf-to-jpg.html
44
8) Upload the image to a hosting site or include it in your reddit post as desired.

Data, Other Hidden Tabs
51
These are hidden tabs with formulas used to create and automate the Bingo Cards. Ignore this unless you are interested in seeing how the spreadsheet works. Nearly all of the year-specific information can be updated directly on the Data tab, with the exception of the year in the Visual Card titles. After updating the HardMode notes on the Data tab, the Update HardMode Notes script in the Bingo Scripts menu must be run.
