CommitteePopsicle Pop InMary Cunningham, Emily Berger, Connie KilligrewPopsicle Pop In event in late July (typically 1-2 days before school starts) before the school year where students and families come to Allisonville to find out who their teacher is, sign up for various activities, and see where their classrooms are located. The event is held completely outdoors around the track area.The committee handles the following: Set up tables and chairs around track, Set up grade- level and PTO tents, Pass out folders and welcome table, Hang and place signage. Committee to also coordinate volunteers, community activity tables, coordinate set up with custodial staff' July/Aug.

Last year, it was on July 29, 2023 at 10am. Ideal volunteers should be familiary with Allisonville and have a Kindergarten-aged student

CommitteeSchool DirectoryLinda PartingtonSchool Directory (Create directory, coordinate printing and distribution in Aug-Sep). Create a school directory, using the data/information from Washington Township. Ensure the families have an opportunity to opt-out of sharing their information. There is a template and we work through J. Everett Light for printing. The fundraising team (and the Exec board) will work to secure ads for the directory. Committee members should have design and editing experience.

CommitteeVeterans/VIP DayApril Alkire, Cassie MorganIn November (around Veterans Day), AV hosts student's VIPs for a 3rd grade song in the gym where we honor veterans and invited family members/caregivers into our school through VIP Day. VIPs also stay for crafts/activities and a photo booth. Veterans Day/VIP Day welcomes a grandparent, aunt, uncle or special person in our student’s life into the classroom to learn about what they’ve been working on, honor their support and encourage students to do their best. For this committee, many of the items have already been created/purchased (and are in the PTO closet)

CommitteeWashington Twp Foundation LiaisonOPEN Advancement Center Liason (Bash contact, Great North Run contact). Communicate updates from the Washington Township Foundation to the Allisonville PTO (regarding events, initiatives, fundraising, etc). It’s probably best suited for someone who sits on the foundation board. But not required.

CommitteeGator Safari (Spring Carnival) Lexie GravenGator Safari Spring Carnival is a free 'carnival' style event at the end of the school year (May 10, 2024 is the date) with a high turnout of attendees (400+). Students and parents alike will celebrate the end of the school year with games and fun for the whole family! We have live animals, caricatures, face painting, and more. Committee members and volunteers for help with set-up, games, donations and tear-down. Most of the games are already created -- but new ideas are always welcome.

CommitteeTrivia NightAmanda OldenettelTrivia Night is AV's largest fundraiser of the year. Typically held the third Friday of January (at Half Liter), this adults-only event has trivia along with an online auction. Committee members will secure auction items (and trivia winner prizes), solicit sponsors, secure trivia caller/host, arrange decor and a photo booth.

Committee5th Grade Honors & Fun DayOPENCommittee should work with 5th grade teachers to organize the 5th grade honors and fun day. 5th Grade Field Day (coordinate 5th Grade volunteers, work with Mr. Walker, currently hosted in May). 5th Grade End of Year Celebrations (plan 5th grade end of year honors program and fun day in May)

CommitteeDine-to-Donate/Community FundraisingKellye EchternachCommittee member should work with local businesses to arrange monthly dine-to-donate or communty fundraising events througout the schoolyear (we typically offer one per month). This person should ensure that AV receives as high of a percentage as possible (20% is ideal) and that the variety of restaurants and businesses reflects the student base. The committee member willl have access to previous contacts.

Gator Giving (work with school social worker in November/December to solicit contributions for Allisonville students and families in need). Promote needs for two weeks through school newsletter emphasizing specific needs (ex) socks, underwear, deodarant, etc) and $15-$25 Aldi and Walmart gift cards for families in need. Set up collection table in the front entry and check in every few days to keep items organized and keep them from overflowing. School secretary collects all gift cards and makes a final count at the end of the drive.

CommitteeRoom Parent CoordinatorLexie GravenCommittee member secures volunteers for all classrooms to manage class parties (two per year - Fall and February) and communicates with room parents about parties and other PTO details. Committee to also ensure each classroom has the PTO-provided snack (one drink, one food item).Committee member coordinates and communicates with volunteers, makes sure all classrooms are covered, procures snacks.

This is a fundraiser for the PTO, so committee member should ensure the PTO is receiving a profit. Committee coordinates spirit wear shops throughout the year and distribution.
