Bowie Step ClubCourtyardStep Club will meet in the courtyard after school. Stepping dates back to the early 20th century as a way for African Americans to communicate. Later, it turned into a way for Black people to find community and resources not provided by the outside world as well as Brother and Sisterhood within Black sororities and fraternities. Stepping is done with a lot of hard work and love. It is starting to expand to people who are not a part of the Black community, a way for people to celebrate Black people without being disrespectful. We want this club to be based on those values of love, community, culture, and celebration. We want this club to be a place where anyone and everyone fits in and can be their authentic selves. We want this club to be a place for learning and growth.
