| |||||||||||||||
| The version tree is a visual guide, displaying an optimized path to update a world through as many found versions as possible. The guide on the right describes color coding used to organize the version tree. "Playable" versions can be played by following the respective platform steps in the "How To Play" | Playable | Expanded sheets are marked with an "Ex." in front of the sheet name, and explain each update in more detail. These sheets are designed to explain "important" features that are added and removed to the game, with a large emphasis on discontinued | Discontinued

| Not Playable | Removed on Conversion

| Conversion | Unrelated
| Complex | features. A discontinued feature is some aspect of the game that was obtainable in earlier versions, that can then be updated to later versions where it is no longer obtainable. The color formatting on the Expanded Sheets is used to better cateogrize the status of a feature. The color green refers to a discontinued feature that still exists in the game. This is some feature that is not obtainable in the current version, but if obtained in the specified version, can be brought up and still exist in the current version. The color yellow refers to an item that was once a discontinued feature, but at some point gets deleted, and no longer can exist in the current version. The color purple refers to a discontinued feature that is not deleted by normal means, but is instead removed upon conversion. This is a feature that exists up to the current version of the respective platform, but cannot exist on the platform it is converted to. The color blue refers to a feature that is considered "interesting". The color gray refers to a note that is unrelated to a specific feature, and is used to explain the "Playable, Requires Additions" versions, conversion methods, and a lack of features for a specific update.
| guide. "Playable, Requires Additions" versions require specific steps to be played, involving either file manipulation or third party programs to run correctly. These are explained more in depth on the respective entries on the Expanded Sheets. "Not Playable" versions are versions that are found and archived, however can not be properly launched or saved, and thus a world cannot be updated to or out of them. "Downgrade" refers to the action of reverting to an earlier version of the game, and is only used in specific cases throughout the sheet. "Conversion" refers to using third party programs to convert the world save format into a format compatible with a different edition/later version of the game. "Complex" refers to an update path that requires multiple steps of downgrading and upgrading, that intercept with each other in such a manner that makes it difficult to visualize. As such, these sections can be properly understood by utilizing the respective expanded section. Arrows are used throughout to better visualize skipping updates, converting worlds, and downgrading.

| I could not have done such a big project without the community, and I am so grateful for all the support and assistance I've received from so many people. The credits are divided into 5 main sections: The spreadsheet creator is myself. Information contributors are people who have provided ridiculous amounts of information in the form of how to guides or expanded sheets. Coders are the people who have made these converters and mods that are so necessary to creating this update path. Archivists are the people who have dedicated so much time and effort into preserving this beautiful game on all platforms. And finally, discoverers are the people who have abused and manipulated this game to create scenarios nobody would think possible, and have provided the discontinued features you see listed here. Again, these people are the entire backbone of the project, without them I would just be some weird guy sitting at home obsessed with spreadsheets. With them, I still am some weird guy sitting at home obsessed with spreadsheets - but with a wonderful community behind him.
