Friday1:30 - 2:30Knitting with BeadsNicole TobiasHave you ever wanted to add bling to your knitting? In this session we will learn several ways to add beads to our projects. We will also discuss some tips and tricks that will help you as you begin this new addiction to add shiney beads to your stash. We will make a small and quick project to practice these skills, a knitted bracelet! Kits will be available for purchase. One hourAdvance beginner. (should know how to knit, purl, cast-on, bind-off) You will need a class kit, a set of size US 2 or US 2.5 knitting needles, and a small tapestry needle. A small beading crochet hook could also be handy, but not necessary for this class. Class kits will be available for purchase for $20 (cash preferred).

Saturday9:00 - 10:00Introduction to Drop Spindle SpinningJenn HendrixDuring this one hour introduction, you will be shown several different kinds of spindles and I will explain their differences and why you might choose one over the other for the task they are to perform. Each student will receive a spindle and a bag of wool and will be started on their spinning journey!

You will be shown several different ways wool and other fibers can be prepared for spinning on your spindle and you will be given prepared roving to get you starte8d.

This is a great pattern to expand some of your skills. (Please note: Homework is involved. Saturday1:30 - 2:30Loomed ScrubadubbyMonica WallekParticipants will use a 24 peg round large gauge plastic loom to make a Scrubadubby by Brenda Myers. (Pattern lists other loom sizes.)

Skills learned are the Double Peg Drawstring Cast-on, E-Wrap(KTBL) knit, flat knit, purl, and the two-part Gathered Bind Off.
A limited number of $20 kits will be offered with the tool, loom, a stitch counter, various notions, and enough scrubby yarn for 2 projects in a zippered pouch.
Participants will provide their own cotton worsted yarn from the show vendor at an additional cost.

A limited number of printed pattern copies will be provided with the designer's permission and knowledge.
A limited amount of extra scrubby yarn is also available for separate purchase.
One hourSkill level is beginner; pattern includes photo steps as well as written steps. Participants will need a skein of cotton worsted yarn to purchase at the show, and a US$20 Loom kit which includes the loom, tools, and enough assorted Scrubby yarn for 2 completed projects.

Saturday2:45 - 3:45Introduction to Weaving Jenn HendrixDuring this one hour introduction, you will be shown several different kinds of looms and I will explain their differences and why you might choose one over the other for the task they are to perform. Each student will receive a sinmple wooden loom and yarn to make their first project!

You will be learning the principles of weaving and will complete a mug rug in the class.
