SPOCK tries to sacrifice himself to save the day.
KIRK IRRESPONSIBLY saves SPOCK.
|Enterprise crew saves primitive race from Volcano|
|Theme Stated||-Pike feels Kirk hasn't earned the chair. Kirk's immaturity is a metaphor for The Federation's immaturity. It's been frightened into going to war when they're supposed to be explorers.||SPOCK says "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."|
PIKE reiterates this when he reprimands KIRK, trying to make him understand that to earn the chair he needs to think of the responsibility he has to others.
KHAN echoes this later as well when he says he would do anything to save his crew.
THEME of selfless responsibility of leadership continues throughout.
|Dual: Kirk asks Bones what would Spock do in his place; Bones replies "he'd let you die" -- Kirk asks Pike what he would do; Pike replies "I wouldn't have been there in the first place."|
|Set-up||-Kirk loses the Enterprise|

-Spock disagrees with a mission to kill him, believes Khan should be brought to justice.
-Scotty protests the secret weaponization of the Enterprise with special torpedoes.
|There is debate with the Star fleet leadership (Now more agro thanks to 911... er... Nero's Vulcan Attack.) and then with Admiral Marcus about how to handle the situation.||Harrison reinstates Kirk's command with orders to hunt down Harrison, Spock and most of the crew debate Kirk on the morality of outright execution without trial, Scotty resigns his post over it.|
|Break into Two||-Kirk decides to pursue Khan and "bring him to justice" not to assassinate him||The Enterprise and her crew reunite on the ship and head off into the adventure to go get the terrorist Osama... I mean Khan... I mean Harrison.||Kirk decides to go against orders and arrest Harrison|
|B Story||-Kirk meets Carol Marcus|
-Uhura and Spock are in a fight
|Kirk and his team meet Carol Not-Marcus-but-really-Marcus. Spy? Enemy? Mother of Kirk's children? We shall see...||Khan and his Crew (B-story should be the circus mirror image of the A-story)|
|Fun and Games||-Our crew prepare their stations for depature|

-Kirk has been used by Marcus to precipitate a war (see ST VI: UD)
-KIRK & KHAN TEAM UP!
|Harrison is not Harrison, he is Khan and the 72 secret torpedo weapons are filled with his crew. Marcus lied and in fact might be a bigger bad guy than Khan!|
Oh and his GMO blood has regenerative properties that McCoy tests on... Let's completely randomly say... A dead Tribble. (Dead Tribble is a GREAT name for a band.)
|Harrison revealed as Khan. Kirk realizes he's been duped and that a shitstorm is coming his way|

|Finale||-Spock outsmarts Khan by preying on his affection for his frozen crew|
-Spock chases Khan down to Coruscant and they fight geneticaly superior hand to vulcan neck pinch

-Five Year Mission - "Space, the final frontier..." Enterprise returns to exploring missions not war missions.
|SPOCK takes up the hero's mantle and chases down KHAN in order to save the many? No he's out for hot-blooded revenge for the death of KIRK. It is only thought the cooperation of the CREW that SPOCK doesn't go down that dark road and cross over to the dark side. Wait… that's another J.J.
