Colorado Childrens Center (Uptown Ave & Arista Pl)

Arista Sensory Park offers an accessible and inclusive playground in partnership with the City and County of Broomfield. This commercial playground equipment is installed near the Children's Hospital Therapy Clinic, and is used by patients and their siblings, families and the entire community of Broomfield. The playstructures and playground has sand play elements, auditory and musical activities, swings, sensory-rich play panels, spinners and an accessible ramped playstructure for kids ages 5 to 12.

In 2023, the City of Montrose replaced the outdated playground at Buckley Park with a new, all-inclusive playground that fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, The International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association, the American Society of Testing Materials International, and The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. This playground is not only ADA-compliant but is also designed to be inclusive to all community members, regardless of age or limitations. It offers a play area for everyone, allowing all individuals to participate without limitations. The playground features different levels of play abilities, providing a unified area for all participants. It is a place where families can visit, stay, and enjoy the opportunity to learn and grow together.

Broomfield Joseph R. Mazzola Sensory Playground / Midway Park

The playground has an accessible swing for children with special needs, as well as ramps and a soft, smooth play surface for people who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

Canyon View Park is a premiere park providing the perfect setting for many activities. Picnic shelters, fully (Handicap Friendly) accessible playground, ponds, open space, restrooms, and trails. This complex includes baseball, basketball, a dog park, football fields, handball court, horseshoe court, multi-use fields, softball fields, tennis courts, and sand volleyball.

In 2017, the city completed a renovation of the park playground and opened the city’s first universal playground. It is an imaginative place that stimulates creative play and healthy physical activity, and includes features such as mounds, ramps and structures that children of all ages and abilities can play in.

When this recreation center in Thornton, Colorado, was renovated, they asked for innovation and inclusivity. With multiple playstructures, kids of all ages and abilities can enjoy the space. The playground has elements like the fun glider, sensory play center, and cozy dome. There is also shade to stay cool.

With the addition of one WeGo swing in July 2022 (which is the only accessible feature at this park), Centennial Park amenities include 2 picnic shelters, a children's water splash pad play area, an amphitheater for outdoor concerts, a decorative Rifle-history-themed central plaza and waysides, Rifle Creek Trail, and a large open turf are (The Great Bowl) and many areas to simply sit and enjoy the surroundings. There are grassy areas around with shade trees to sit and enjoy the day, watch the kids or have a picnic. There are paved walking trails that loop through the park, mostly follow Rifle Creek, and connect with Rifle's walking paths. However, NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS are a serious downside.

Foothills Park & Recreation District installed a universally accessible destination playground at Clement Park as part of its $6.3 million park redevelopment project. Improvements to date include rebuilt the central playground to be an Inclusive Playground for children of all abilities and planted trees near the Inclusive Playground and finalized landscaping.

Dry Creek Community Park is a 23-acre park named for the creek running through the site. Amenities at the park include a multi-tiered and ADA accessible playground, restrooms, parking, walking paths and Dry Creek Greenway trail connection from Grandview Meadows Drive to Blue Skies Park, an 18 hole disc golf course, and a sledding hill. There is also a multi-use sports field including cricket pitches.

This popular Northglenn park is home to a sensory playground, musical instruments, and a water area. The play area is set up in different levels featuring play equipment that is easily accessible for everyone to explore, even by wheelchair. Some of the signs and play features are in Braille as well.

Small school playground with one accessible swing (have to be able to transfer) and also has one we-go-round. Basketball courts have an accessible path to them. Accessible parking available. Some fencing. No bathroom access and not able to access during school days and hours.

This school in Lakewood, Colorado, created an inclusive playground to serve their students and other area children of all abilities. The playground is ADA-accessible and has a sensory play center, sway fun glider, and sensory-rich roller table.

The Fraser Valley Metro Recreation District replaced the aging playground equipment located at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex. The District added safety surfacing to allow for increased ADA accessibility for groups such as the National Sports Center for the Disabled.

Aven's Village is located at Island Grove Regional Park. This farm-themed inclusive playground provides individuals of all ages and abilities to learn, play and grow together.

Lincoln Park Accessible Playground, Arboretum, and Trails

Lincoln Park is a 42 acre large regional and neighborhood park in the heart of Grand Junction at 12th Street and North Avenue. The sports complex has three shelters, two restrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a fully accessible playground, open space, and more.

An inclusive and accessible playground at Stanley Marketplace by the LuBird's Light Foundation team, this inclusive playground for children of all abilities is the only one of its kind in the area and includes state-of-the-art handicapped accessible swings, spinners and slides, musical sensory play equipment, smooth barrier-free surfacing and more—all with a magical vibrant design.

Panorama Park is a newly renovated space that provides a safe, accessible, quality community destination park within a 10-minute walk for many Southeast residents. The park includes a universally accessible playground.

Red-Tailed Hawk Park is a community park with an inclusive playground that is designed for children of all abilities. Colorado The Make-A-Wish Foundation along with the Rotary Club and Arapahoe County Open Space were all funding partners for this all-inclusive park in Aurora.

River Park is an artfully designed and constructed environment for children ages 5-12 to experience river systems, forests, and the rich history of the area while at play. River Park received the Colorado Lottery's 2019 Starburst Award for excellence in the use of funds for a community project.

Revamped in 2010, this great space-themed accessible public playground in Grand Junction. Lots of shade trees, accessible paths and covered gazebo with accessible parking and restrooms. Lots of grass for park time fun. Accessible playground equipment good for most ages. Rocket Park is a school and park partnership used by several therapeutic groups in the area as well as schools. The updated safety surfacing, ramps, and space-themed amenities chosen for the New Rocket Park were more expensive than the bare basics.

Sugar Beet Park is located on the southwest corner of East Vine Drive and 9th Street. The park features a picnic pavilion, playground, open turf field, pollinator garden, and more.

Twin Silo Community Park is one of a kind, featuring community gardens, paved recreational trails, an orchard, a BMX park, pickleball courts, a dog park, original artwork designed specifically for the park, and a playground that includes the tallest slide in Fort Collins. The slide extends between two 48-foot tall farm silos that were relocated to Twin Silo Park from Prospect and Timberline Roads.

Playground features include a we-go-round, cozy dome, sensory play center, and outdoor musical instruments.

Westminster Sensory Park is a comfortable place for all children and families to enjoy regardless of their abilities. Concrete paths are embedded with grooves and textured bumps, providing those in wheelchairs a fun ride. Water play, sand play, and musical panels add to the sensory experience. Swings with different seating options allow visitors to find the "just right" fit for them, and shade structures are abundant.
