11/28/2011 17:26:26GITLikes: It does what I need it to. It allows me to create repositories easily and also allows me to use online services. That isn't to say others don't allow much of the same functionality.

Dislikes: Sometimes merging external branches can be quite a chore. It can be easier to simply destroy the local copy and fetch a new one from the server.
Subversion (SVN), GitNopeNoI don't understand the question. What does the history of development and current version control have in common?

12/26/2011 16:59:02SubversionI like its simplicity compared to git, and its ability to store binary files compared to cvs.Subversion (SVN), Git, OtherNoNoI think git maps the most close to how I develop software, but I find it difficult to use sometimes and so just use svn for simplicity. In small personal projects it doesn't really matter all that much. At work we use svn and cvs because we have legacy code that has been in development for years, and git is relatively new.Better automatic merge algorithms
