Maria SS DiLoreto Society Club ScholarshipApril 15, 2023The Maria S.S. DiLoreto Society, an Italian/American Club, better known as the DiLoreto Club, was established in 1933, for the mutual benefit of its members and the community. Its members have long valued education and service to our country. DiLoreto Club members have used their education (both formal and informal) to become business leaders and community pillars. DiLoreto Club veterans have served in every war in the 20th and 21st Centuries. There were at least 75 club members serving in the U.S. Armed services during World War II, and dozens in the first World War (WWI), and many more in every war since. The Club's precepts expound: exceptional character, citizenship and community service including service to our nation. In part with keeping with our Club's Constitution, as a non-profit, our members are honored to offer two $1,000 scholarships to two deserving students who wish to further their education.
Applications for this scholarship are available at the DiLoreto Club Twitter Site, the DiLoreto Club Facebook page, the guidance offices of Mishawaka High School, Marian High School and Penn High School. This award is for high school students.
The recipients are intended to:
(A) Be accepted to a certified two or four year trade school, college, or university, or
specified occupational program
(B) Complete an application and return it to the DiLoreto Club at 914 N. Division
Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or email to rck_farrell@yahoo.com, before April 15, 2023
(C) Include an essay why they would be honored if chosen as a recipient of this
award
The DiLoreto Clubs' Scholarship Committee will review the applications and present qualified candidates to the DiLoreto Club Veterans for their selection. The recipient will be notified at the May, "A" Members Meeting by the Club's President or his designee. The $1,000 scholarship will be forwarded to the Financial Aid Office of the learning institution, of choice, of the recipient. DiLoreto Club Scholarship Application will need to be completed and returned to: DiLoreto Club at 914 N. Division Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545. The due date is April 15, 2023.

The South Bend - Elkhart Audubon Society Vic and Marge Riemenschneider ScholarshipMay 31, 2024The South Bend - Elkhart Audubon Society awards a one thousand dollar ($1,000) scholarship to a resident of St. Joseph, Elkhart, or Marshall counties of Indiana who plans to be enrolled at an accredited college and to pursue a degree program that aligns with the mission of the Society. This includes, but is not limited to, ornithology, forestry, wildlife, ecology and environmental sciences or engineering, natural resources, insect biology, and sustainable agriculture. The applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent, at the time of application. The applicant must include the following documents as PDFs:
An essay describing their goals and how they align with the mission of the South Bend - Elkhart Audubon Society.
Two letters of recommendation from those familiar with the applicant’s academic work and goals (not family or friends)
