Would you have a list of individuals or organizations you can recommend to review our curricula? We've been working with some already (college board for AP courses, Microsoft for TEALS), but we would love to see if you'd recommend anyone in particular to provide a 3rd-party review of our content.• We are familiar with EdReports, Learning List, and What Works Clearinghouse. Just to be clear, you do not need to have a review by a 3rd party organization in order to submit your materials for review.
4
We've been working and selling our computer science platform in New Mexico, which contains curricula. We have active customers and free-for-teacher accounts and are working with districts looking to pilot us this spring. Would we need to stop those activities to participate in this review?• You may not submit materials for review if you already have a pilot in progress in which you have supplied those materials or professional learning for free. You may not start a pilot in the spring if you are going to submit your materials for review.
• Please refer to page 18 of the RfA for the specific information about pilot programs.
5
NM Distribution Point/Depository is new to us. Would you like us to apply to be part of Archway before being reviewed, or can that be completed down the line?• There is not a formal application for the Archway depository; however, you will need to sign an agreement with them.
6
Provider/Publisher Code is also new to us. I can work to apply for one of these as well. Do you think this needs to be completed before we are reviewed? • You will need to apply for a publisher code now so that you have it before the submission of your forms. Please refer to page 27 of the RfA for contact information for Archway Depository.
7
Where can we find a list of what is required to be considered Core Material vs. supplemental material?
• We hit all CSTA standards; would that qualify our materials as core materials?
• What information do you need to qualify as core other than Lexile Scores and ISBN?
• We do not have a list of requirements to determine if your materials are core or supplementary. You will determine that based on the definitions of core instructional material (CIM--found on page 6 of the RfA) and supplementary instructional material (SIM--page 8).
8
On page 42, it states that the independent reviewer cannot be compensated. Is there a list of free independent reviewers available?• The section of Form D to which you are referring is a certification that the independent reviewers of the completed review of your material by nationally recognized experts were not compensated by you, the publisher. We are familiar with EdReports, Learning List, and What Works Clearinghouse as nationally recognized, independent experts in instructional material reviews. Just to be clear, though, you do not need to have a review by a 3rd party organization in order to submit your materials for review.
9
Just to verify, only Forms B, D, and E are due 11/28/2002. No curriculum materials are submitted until 2/1/2023 along with Form F. Is this understanding correct?• Yes, Forms B, D, and E are the only items due 11/28/22. The submission of materials will happen right before the Institute, most likely in May. We will communicate the information for sending your materials at that time.
10
A district bought our software in August of this year. Would that purchase make it so that we can't be part of this review process?• No, the purchase of your materials by schools or districts does not preclude you from submitting them for review.
11
Is Research Base (form D) required for review, as Health, computer and CTE are not reviewed by 3rd party vendors such as Ed Reports? Normally these titles have been exempt from this requirement. • You will complete and submit a Form D for EVERY core title you are submitting for review. If you have evidence of the effectiveness of your materials, please submit it on the Form D under option 1, 2, or 3, depending on the type of evidence it is. If you do NOT have evidence of research-based effectiveness, please select “No evidence of research-based effectiveness is available” on the first page of the Form D.
• Not having evidence of research-based effectiveness will NOT preclude your core materials from being reviewed during the summer review institute.
12
Will a list of CTE clusters and pathways offered at their high schools be provided? • The course codes linked in Attachment 2 of the RfA provide descriptions of the courses offered at the high school level for CTE. They should help you determine which clusters and pathways are offered.
13
Will the expectation with citations to meet each pathway offered within the Career Cluster or will we be able to bid to one or two courses offered within a pathway of the career cluster? (clarifying if the citation documents will be for the overall career cluster or will there be individual citations for each course within the pathways offered for the cluster)?• This question is a Form F questiion and will be addressed during our Form F webinar on December 7.
14
Section 2 of Form B requires us to conform to CPSIA. If we are a digital product, I don't think that falls under CPSIA's purview. Can you please confirm this is a requirement for digital only products? That is correct. If your materials are entirely digital, you do not need to certify number 2 on Form B. Please place N/A in all the rows of that certification table.
15
Are Lexile scores required for SE worksheets? No
16
Are wet ink signatures required on all forms? No; electronic signatures are fine.
17
