We have only had theses in DSpace, so until I work with other types of resources I am not sure what we will want/need later.

I prefer to avoid proprietary, resource-dependent identifiers in general (e.g. SCOPUS). Access to these resources is precarious and can vary widely from campus to campus in the CSU, not to mention the world at large. I also prefer to disentangle potential name and subject identifiers from OCLC, unless we consciously decide to apply NACO and SACO controlled vocabularies to our Hyrax records.

Would recommend systemwide DataCite membership for DOI-minting in Hyrax and OJS (recommendation from Samuel Barber)

I know the Ex Libris MMS ID is not an identifier as such, but this stands in for a plea to integrate OneSearch & Scholarworks as much as possible.

I’m not clear what “Course Number” is, however. Is that course number for each department on each campus? Is there standardized nomenclature for those courses on each campus? How will those be differentiated/disambiguated? Who will create that master list? How will that be accomplished?

It would be ideal if these could be in a drop-down menu, with the option to be repeatable.

I've a bias toward including whatever metadata/identifiers are available--particularly when available when material is ingested. Like metadata for other materials (commercially-printed monographs or serials), only the information readily available would be encoded, with additions when someone returns to the record(s) involved.
