3
4
Approaching SchoolsProgram initiation and scheduling works best when the tone is from top, like Chairman, Secretary, Correspondent or Principal
5
6
Meeting with the higher authorityPresent a proposal in-hand that has all details of the program we are offering
7
Fixing a POC for future contact and follow up
8
9
Content of ProposalList down a few aspects: 1) Why offering yoga at a young age and in a school set up, 2) objectives, modules and its benefits, 3) structure of the program 4) requirements to conduct the program.
10
(CSR can help, if possible)NOTE: This is a free program and budget comes from the Region.
11
12
Modules For ages 7 and above, typically Std 2/3 - Yoga Namaskar and Nadi Shuddhi
For Std 9 and above, Surya Sakti (optional - see notes below)
13
14
Day sessionLearning session 1 hour 30 minutes, with a maximum of 100 students per session is effective
15
For 400 students, it will take 4 batches to learn and 4 batches to review, for a total of 8 batches. This would be take 2 days with 4 sessions each day.
Ex - Day 1 - Learning session: 1.5 hrs sessions - 2 batches in the morning + 2 after lunch = 4 batches per day
Day 2 - Review session (no video is played) - 1 hr sessions - 2 batches in the morning + 2 after lunch = 4 batches per day
16
17
Course session~5 days offering to cover all students + mandala (48 days) + ~5 days review = 60 days/ 2 months program
18
19
Structure of offering the programEach child gets 2 sessions on consecutive days from a Hatha Yoga teacher
20
Once the learning is done an audio file of 20 minutes is shared with the POC for regular practice
21
Daily practice session during the assembly time works best but some schools prefer 20 minutes before breaking for lunch.
22
After a period of 6 weeks a review session of 1 hour is conducted by a part time Ishanga or a Satsang Ishanga
23
Review session once in 3 months or as requested by the school
24
Regular follow up with the POC helps fix, in case practice stops at a certain point
25
26
Cost
(Expense comes from Regional Budget)
Fees for Hatha Teacher - Rs1500 for 90 min session per batch of 100 students.
If there are 400 students, cost is Rs 1500 *4 batches = Rs.6000 paid by the Region.
No payment for review session as it is conducted by part-time/satsang Ishanga.

On a case by case basis, can/may request Institution for Transport, Food expenses for Teacher +1.
27
28
Circular to parents with information on session and how support students at homeCircular can contain:
- What is yoga,
- Why daily practice of yoga is important,
- Why to maintain empty stomach condition,
- How to support them at home and
- Invite them for an Intro session
Support: legging for girls, use yoga mat/Bedsheet, etc
29
30
Ideal time to implement the programAnalyse IDY data from the centers and pick schools that are open to yoga programs. Quality vs Quantity matters. Jul-Aug timeframe is ideal for implementation. Complete session 1 month prior to exams to avoid date conflict.
31
32
Challenges faced in Government schoolsNo proper hall or too small a space that can accomodate barely 25 students per session
33
(CSR can help, if possible)Lack of yoga mats and carpets, having students do yoga namaskar on cemented floor or sand
34
(CSR can help, if possible)No proper audio system to conduct daily practice for all students at the same time
35
36
Surya SaktiOffering Surya Sakti works well for Std 9 and above students over 5 days
37
However, not having an audio file to support daily practice forces school to ask students to do their practice at home, hence not able to carry it forward as a sustainable module currently. We are requesting Hatha school to release the audio file to share.
