At Ōtari we have documented collection of 1200 species of native plants from across the motu. We also have a specialised nursery to sustain our living collection as well as supporting conservation projects led by many different orgnisations such as hapu, iwi, NGOs, QEII, RCs, DOC, private landowners and others. Ōtari is also home to the Lions Ōtari Plant Conservation Laboratory where we research how to store the seeds/germplasm of some of Aoteroa's most threatened species. We have cryopreservation facilities, scientific freezers and refridgerators as well as incubators to initiate germination experimentally. We also have a back up generator to ensure the material we have is not lost.

Currently produce 60,000 plants for Auckland Regional Parks revegetation programmes, however this will phase out over the next 5 years as we work towards more resourcing to put into endangered species conservation.

NZIFSB is a project to collect seeds from NZ flora as part of an ex-situ conservation strategy to conserve the biodiversity within NZ's indigenous flora.

The Margot Forde Genebank is New Zealand's national seed bank of grassland plants and also hosts the New Zealand Indigenous Flora Seed Bank. It is recognised as a Nationally Significant Collection and Database.

The ‘Tangikaroro Native Nursery and Reserve’ project, formerly known as the 'Tangikaroro Park' project is about the establishment of a ‘Mainland Island Sanctuary’ in Te Tairawhiti, supporting the restoration of rare, threatened and endangered indigenous species, in order that the ecology, and Matauranga Maori (indigenous Maori knowledge) surrounding this ecology, is protected, preserved, and promoted.

Motukārara Conservation Nursery and resource centre has established itself as a 'centre of excellence' for restoration in Canterbury. It grows Canterbury plants exclusively, with an emphasis on provenance. The nursery propagates between 120,000 and 160,000 plants each year, most of which are pre-sold for restoration projects.

We are Weta Woods Nursery, owned by Mark and Ali Baker with our two girls Danielle and Nikita and our dogs Gus and Tui. We have always been interested in plants and growing them, so when we got the chance to purchase this lovely property in Okororie we jumped at it. Our goal is to grow and supply good and healthy plants to our customers to not only beautify the land scape but feed our birds and insects.

Forest Flora has been established to guide and support restoration of natural areas in the Waikato. We have an enthusiastic team experienced in all aspects of restoring the plant life of forests and wetlands. Alongside the Devonport Community Gardens at the Mount Cambria Reserve, our team is growing many native species. This small space generates massive energy for propagating plants that will regenerate our natural areas and connect us to the natural world for our well-being. Under a shade house, we sow a wide variety of tree, shrub, and grass/sedge seeds we have eco-sourced within the Tamaki Makaurau district. We are prioritising species that will add biodiversity and thrive in the coastal fringe, wetland, and streamside ecosystems.

Down by the Waitematā Golf Course, we have a watering system and holding area to grow our trees ready for sites where bigger trees are needed and for future plantings at the Golf Course/Alison Park. Get in touch if you need well grown native plants to create a ‘halo’ around our reserves or just want to increase native trees in the whenua on your property. We plant trees in winter to give them the best chance to thrive without extra watering or care, so need several areas to hold plants until the time is right to plant them.

In Dacre Park off Lake road, we are developing a space dedicated to raising thousands of native plants. Our Takararo nursery work will transition to the new space once we have watering and other requirements in place. As we open up this space many skills and resources are needed. We upcycle and reuse resources as we think about the space we occupy and how we can tread lightly in our activities to develop the requirements needed to produce many thousands of plants annually.

We are a university based Department of Botany, and run a range projects focused on understanding native seed biology for restoration purposes. We are often looking for student projects and very keen to collaborate in the restoration and seed spaces. We have a range of facilities that can be used for this kaupapa.
