ABOUT THE CLASSROOM WISHLIST PROJECT 2026: In the US, a tremendous amount of teachers don't get the funding they need to set their classrooms up for success. Most will end up paying out of their own pockets to buy educational materials, which feels all wrong. Many will make wishlists to ask for helping purchasing what they cannot. I asked teachers to send me their wishlists and tell us a bit about their classrooms because I know how good it feels to be able to buy kids crayons and books. Help out if you feel you're able -- you will unquestionably make a teacher's (and their students') day. Read more here: https://smittenkitchen.com/the-classroom-wishlist-project/

Hello! I am an Elementary School Social Worker at a Title 1 district in NJ. I am going into my 6th year and am still building my 'toolbox' of resources to make my sessions and classroom engaging and welcoming for all. These resources are so helpful for supporting my work with students to help them meet their social, emotional, and academic goals. Thank you for your support! Hello! I am thrilled to begin teaching 2nd grade for the 4th year in a row! My school is part of a small district, so a lot is left up to staff to provide on their own.

I would especially appreciate a visual timer to make transitions more visual, a paper organizing tray and tape to help with art projects, and a prize box and book refresh for our class library.

Even a little helps *so* much and I’ve learned it truly takes a village to do this career effectively. Any amount you are willing to help is appreciated more than you know! 👩‍🏫❤️

I am a director for a small non-profit preschool. A big part of our curriculum is our preschool garden. We have workshops for kids to teach them about planting, harvesting, and preparing vegetables to eat. We have a volunteer parent who helps but it is difficult to fund as supplies need to be replenished annually. We could use donations for materials like seeds, soil and children's books about gardening, gardening tools and gloves for children, child safe kitchen knives, cutting boards and aprons for preparing the vegetables for eating. I know this may not qualify as a classroom expense but our garden really is our outdoor classroom! Many of my wishlist items are organizational tools to maximize space in my new classroom (it is on the smaller size). I teach 10th and 12th grade ELA in Lehigh, Florida (right by Fort Myers). This is my second year teaching, and I'm still stocking and building my classroom. As a Title 1 school, we have lots of students who just don't have the supplies they need to meet basic classroom requirements, so a lot of those supplies come out of my own pocket - paper, pens, dry-erase markers, art supplies - and with a district-wide push to get kids off Chromebooks, it's going to be even more necessary to have these physical supplies! I've found that interactive projects like one-pagers and illustrated quotes really help open up imaginations and spark discussions about literature, so hopefully I can get enough of these things to make our lessons run smoothly!Lehigh, Floridahttps://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/O57KXVN83M52?ref_=wl_share

I'm a high school teacher in California, and I run a weekly reward shop called the PawPup Shop for all of our students where they can "buy" school supplies, snacks, and little tchotchkes with points that they earned from other staff for exhibiting positive behaviors (at our school, we lead with Perseverance, Accountability, Community, and Kindness -- still waiting for "PACKiness" to catch on :)).
The best compliment I ever got about the shop was that it reminded me of the Scholastic Book Fair.
I find it super endearing and charming that even our supposedly jaded, disenchanted, isolated Gen Z-ers really delight in practically the same exact things that my own young children like – slime, stickers, and white out. Boy, do these kids love white out!
There's a long line every week of students waiting to buy Sharpies or LEGO knock-offs, or stickers from their childhoods, and I'm so grateful to provide a space where students can either get their school-supply needs met, or indulge in a bit of nostalgia and whimsy at a time when they need it most.
I fund the shop through graveling, some site funding, asking around at local businesses, etc, but a) it's a grind and b) we've run out of rewards a few times throughout the year, and disappointing students is the last thing I'd ever want to do, so every little bit helps. Thank you all so, so much.
The Wolfpack and I are sincerely appreciative of any help whatsoever.
Cheers from the Golden State! :)

I am located in a public elementary school in Washington DC where I teach ELA to 5th graders and have a 5th grade home room. I love to read. Each year, the task of encouraging my students to find joy in reading and become lifelong readers, is one of my main goals as a teacher. Many of the items on my list are to create more comfortable places to sit and read in my room. This includes soft cushions and alternative seating options. I teach 1st grade in inner city Philadelphia. My students come to school eager and open to learning. They are sweet and kind, despite living below the poverty level. Many of them do not have enough food for dinner (our school provides breakfast and lunch) and their parents are struggling to even provide basic needs. The neighborhood I teach in is violent and many of our students don't get to play outside after school for fear of violence around them. However they work hard and despite what goes on outside of school, they have the desire to be the best they can be. They love earning little prizes, being in a nice, clean, and bright classroom, and showing up everyday knowing we care about them. LaSalle II World Language Elementary School brings together children from neighborhoods across Chicago to foster cultural diversity and global citizenship. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher, and I was recently notified that I will be departmentalized this school year, teaching only reading and science. I was excited about the opportunity to hone my skill set and instructional practices in two subject areas that I truly love. However, I quickly realized that I was missing many of the materials needed to effectively support not just one classroom, but two!
I am hoping to receive support in purchasing my science curriculum from my Teachers Pay Teachers classroom wishlist campaign, along with other essential classroom materials from Amazon that will help me and my 60 students begin the school year prepared and ready to learn. Thank you :)

I'm excited to switch grades and schools to teach 4th grade this year! Because I'm at a new school, I had to leave all my previous grant materials at my old school and so am starting over. One of the most important ways I've found to engage students, especially in math, is to have a variety of whiteboards for them to move around the room with.

I'm hoping to replace my much-loved double-sided, wheeled whiteboard. This made our math time more collaborative, as we could work through our thinking as a group on the top board and then students could practice in partners and groups with the bottom board. Since it's double sided, I could wheel it away from the wall for more students to use.

I also left behind my individual whiteboards, which allow students to work individually before sharing their thinking in pairs, small groups, or with the class.

I teach Home Economics at a Title I public middle school in San Francisco that primarily serves newcomers and other English Language Learners. My 6th graders will learn basic hand stitching, sew creative projects such as tote bags and stuffies, mend and alter clothing, and get experience using a sewing machine. For many students, this will be their first time ever sewing! I taught this class for the first time last year, and because my school couldn’t provide me funding to make this class happen, it was a success entirely due to the generosity of this special Smitten Kitchen Community. I loved watching students help each other across differences in English proficiencies, and students with disabilities who were used to being dismissed in other classes feel empowered to make unique and beautiful work! I teach 11th and 12th grade English in a high school with mostly low income students. Many of my students are struggling readers. Every year I try to find books to teach that will engage and inspire them. I have found a great one that I’m excited to read with them this year! I also want them to maintain a reader/writer notebook to keep track of the skills we are studying and practice their writing. Most of my students have difficulty affording school supplies, so I usually buy them notebooks. ❤️Minneapolis, Minnesota https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1XL7I02O9NNT9?ref_=wl_share

After 10 wonderful years teaching fifth grade, I'm excited to begin a new adventure in third grade. While I've spent years building a classroom library, most of my books are geared toward older readers, so I'm starting the process of creating a collection that fits my new students.

One of my biggest goals every year is to help every child fall in love with reading. I've learned that the best way to do that is by putting the right book into a student's hands. When children have access to engaging, age-appropriate books that match their interests, they're excited to read and begin to see themselves as readers.

Your generosity will help me build a classroom library where every student can find books that inspire, challenge, and excite them. Thank you for supporting my classroom and helping create lifelong readers, one book at a time.

High school math (Alg 2, AP Stats, AP Calc) in an urban, Title 1 school, but that doesn’t define my amazing students and classroom, just unfortunately defines the budget and resources. My students are kind and bright and come from all over the world. Some of them are in school for the very first time, and others are learning English as we navigate each day together. Some speak Spanish as a first language while others speak Russian or Serbian as their first languages. Though they come from different backgrounds and experiences, they will all benefit from instructional technology and learning through differentiated modalities.
Our goal is to finish the year becoming readers and writers and having lots of fun together!

Hello there! 👋🏻❤️📚

I am a second grade teacher in Washington state. As a newer teacher to the profession I have been hard at work building a classroom library that encourages my students to have a passion for reading and to engage with books that they otherwise may not have opportunities to discover. As you may guess, sourcing enough books for 27 students with varying reading levels and interests to last an entire school year can be very, very pricy. I have been trying to build a functional library in this aspect (picture books especially can be very expensive) as I do not have the funds to purchase as many books as I would like each year. With your help I would love to give a my class a wider range of books to choose from that will allow my students to explore and discover new stories, expand their imaginations, and promote independent reading and critical thinking skills. Any donations would greatly benefit my students for years to come!
