( 1 )MATH 21 is not skippable: A score of 4 on the Calc BC test or 5 on the AB test only gives students 6-8 units, so is equal to MATH 19+20 but not 21. If the math placement exam places into CME 100/MATH 51, students without AP/IB credit may petition to waive 6 units math (Math 19/20). A score of 5 on the AP Calculus BC test is equivalent to 10 units and 19/20/21.

( 2 )It is recommended that the CME series (100, 102, 104) be taken rather than the MATH series (51, 52, 53). If you are taking the MATH series, it is strongly recommended to take CME 192: Introduction to MATLAB.
