|5/29/2015 22:31:43||Crossfit 8035||Des Moines, IA||2|
Equipment and space is decent, but the people were completely unwelcoming. Coach never said a word to me unless I asked a question... didn't even introduce himself...no one did. My experience here has scared me away from dropping in.
|5/29/2015 22:35:49||Crossfit Sausalito||Sausalito, CA||4|
Small box but well-appointed. Most importantly, the coach was great and the community was super welcoming. I went back all week and they even remembered my name. Felt just like we treat visitors at Talon. That's the way it should be!

Very welcoming and helpful.

|6/6/2015 16:45:25||Crossfit Nittany||State College, PA||4|
Even if you are "across town" it is worth the drive. Morning classes were small in late May.
|6/6/2015 16:48:36||Crossfit Train||Corvallis, OR||4|
Nice box. A lot of 20 somethings at this university town box. Not enough 35 lbs bars for all the females. Both classes were quite large.
|6/6/2015 16:53:32||Brick Wall Crossfit||Salt Lake City, UT||4|
Ok size, lots of university kids.
Super Hero Crossfit/Fiternity
Nice new box in an old EMS station. Well trained coaches and the hour is similar to Talon. Team warm up, strength and WOD. Appears to be one of the better, if not the best box in the Albany area.
|6/6/2015 17:00:35||Bigg Crossfit Reccoleta|
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Amazingly large box in the middle of BA. Well trained coaches, and quite a few coaches. Large classes in the evenings. Bigg won the Latin American regional in 2014/2015. Most of the coaches speak very good English, if you are like me and get the one guy who doesn't speak great English, you both speak Crossfit and will figure it out :)
|6/6/2015 17:02:11||Licanos Crossfit|
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Box opened in January 2015 in the Port district. I was the first foreign drop in and the coach spoke some English. Argentinians don't really do early morning classes, so I was all by myself.
|6/6/2015 17:05:41||Crossfit Revamped||Columbia, MD||5|
Very friendly and well trained coaches. Nice people and equipment.
|6/6/2015 17:09:20||Crossfit Volition||Milipitas, CA||5|
Newer box in 10/2014. Julie and Nick remind me of younger versions of Tara and Dennis. Great coaching and this place really felt like Talon.
|6/6/2015 17:13:19||Crossfit Arlington||Arlington, VA||4|
I went to their old location quite a few times. Their new location is not near where I am usually am located. Liked the coaches and the old box, but they needed more space, which they got with the new location.
|6/6/2015 17:16:23||Crossfit Blacksburg||Blacksburg, VA||5|
Great box for a college town (caveat, I was there in the summer). People in class were not all college students, well trained coaches, team warmup, followed by strength and WOD. It was Friday morning, and they had breakfast for everyone.
|6/6/2015 17:19:57||Crossfit College Station||College Station, TX||3|
The owner Charlie is great, but he doesn't coach the classes (at least in June 2014). I spent two weeks at this box and most of the coaches, while nice, were college age and not really paying attention. They had integrated new people into the class and it was not good. I see that the coaches I had are no longer listed, so perhaps it is better.
|6/6/2015 17:27:54||Crossfit Karlsruhe||Karlsruhe, Germany||4|
Nice box, good coaching. Team warm up, strength followed by WOD. Lots of expats, so most people speak English.
|6/6/2015 17:32:45||Crossfit Binghamton||Binghamton, NY||4|
Smaller box, but good people and coaches. Did a Saturday team WOD with them. No team warm up. Have to drive 20 miles to get here. in July 2015, will try Southern Tier Crossfit because it is slightly closer.

Box owner was super friendly and very flexible. Allowed me to do my own programming.
|6/20/2015 17:29:06||Crossfit Cape Cod||Mashpee, MA||2|
This box a) was hard to locate, b) only had 45 lbs bars, c) was sort of a mess, with equipment all over the place and no organization, and d) there was no real warmup before the WOD. See the other Cape Cod review for a better option.
|6/20/2015 17:32:49||Upper Cape Crossfit||Cataumet, MA||4|
This was a nice box and I will go back when I am back up there later this year. Good coaching, great members, well organized, group warm up and fun WOD. The only issue is that Google will have you stop in the middle of MA-28 (A two lane highway) and walk through the woods to get to the box. If you are going here, look closely at the map. Milleninum Drive is actually off of MA-28A, not MA-28.
Throttle Bodies LLC/CrossFit Paris Landing
Great community and good coaching!

Great space. Super nice people. Nicely programmed WODs
Crossfit South Lake Tahoe

Super nice coaches. Short warm up. Strength piece is not every day.

|12/3/2015 20:13:48||Crossfit Bloomfield||Bloomfield Hills, MI||5|
The owner and main coach, Jordan, is dedicated to ensuring good form and challenging workouts. The space is very large, full of organized equipment, is clean and comfortable.
|1/7/2016 11:35:45||Crossfit Infernal||Chandler, AZ||5|
Big box. Well-equipped. Coaches and members very welcoming! If I lived in the Phoenix area, I'd go to Crossfit Infernal.
|1/7/2016 11:37:40||Scorpion Crossfit||Chandler, AZ||4|
It was "ok". The adjective I used to describe it is "prissy"...one of those strip mall, don't get chalk or sweat on anything, every member started with a groupon kind of places. Not particularly welcoming but not horrible. (Make the effort to go to Infernal instead.)
|1/10/2016 13:05:16||Southern Tier Crossfit||Binghamton, NY||3|
I did open gym during an Oly class. The Oly class was great! The coach actually coaches at a box in Albany but does Oly at STC on Saturdays. The space is quite strange and broken up.
|1/10/2016 13:12:48||Crossfit Fenway||Boston, MA||3|
Decent sized box, lots of college students, and ok coaching. This is a reasonable alternative given that Reebok Backbay only allows drop ins for their mid-day classes, which is not reasonable for the working class.
Crossfit South Arlington
Good sized box, equipment, coaching and community. A little bit away from Crystal City (toward the Pentagon) and not near a metro stop, but not horrible to get to by running. For the first time on a drop in, I was not the only drop in. They appear to have quite a few military members.
|6/16/2016 6:45:36||NorCal MV||Mountain View, CA||4|
Great programming, but ALOT of drop ins (5 one of the three days I was there) and huge class (18-20) with one coach. The coach did a great job walking around and checking movements, but no introductions. It felt sort of "cold" and less of a community. BTW, Talon has more equipment, e.g., bikes programmed, but only 4 bikes for 16 people...
|6/16/2016 6:48:15||Crossfit West Lafayette||Lafayette, IN||4|
Located in an old garage (e.g., Midas Muffler), so nice and large. Lots of equipment and good coaching. Welcoming community. Class structure similar to Talon - joint warm up, skill work and WOD.
|8/10/2016 9:56:15||CrossFit 813||Tampa, FL||5|
Dropped in to a 6am class with Gen Orebaugh, who is one of the co-owners. She was fantastic! The class started off with warm-up, then we grabbed a PVC pipe and went over the strength for the day, snatch. Gen had us practice a power snatch, hang snatch, then high hang snatch complex before moving to barbells and adding weight for the strength portion. She was very attentive to those needing form adjustments. The WOD afterwards kicked my butt! No showers though.
CrossFit Hit and Run - Downtown location
Justin and Brandi were the coaches for the Saturday morning class at the Downtown location. There were a lot of people in attendance, including several new to crossfit. Warm-up was good, although included different things than we do at Talon. The team workout was explained and then we dispersed to set up. Throughout the workout, Justin and Brandi were attentive in helping out with changing weights and giving pointers.
