IDEAWe're inspired by the success of the Book Auction fundraiser--thanks to everyone for their generosity! But we know there are still more books out there, especially textbooks. And a lot of students still need books, especially textbooks. Why not match up the books on our shelves with the people who want to use them? What's the Sportula?
5
Donate Textbooks (and postage!)Just write up a description (first three columns) and give a digital means of contacting you (email, FB, twitter, etc.). This is not an auction or fundraiser, although we do hope it will save the Sportula some funds to use for other microgrant requests. This is a way for students who need books to find them for free from people who have copies they no longer use, so please donate books only if you're willing/able to donate the postage as well. Hopefully it can be an ongoing exchange! Please promote on social media by sharing a link and saying which books you posted or which ones look extra awesome!
6
Get Textbooks (for free!)Search the list for the book or books you need. Once you find one, put your info (or an X, if you'd prefer not to provide your contact info) in the "Claimed?" column and contact that person (via email, Twitter, etc.) so they can ship you the book. Turn your row red once you've made arrangements with the book owner for transferring the book. Voila! The book has found a new, loving home.Looking for a book that's not available? Fill out the information for it and turn the row yellow. Leave your contact info in the "Claimed?" column, and note the date by which you need the book. Hopefully, someone will come across the request and remember that they (or someone they know) have an extra copy! Once you've connected with your book, please turn the row red so others know the book has been claimed
