| Last Updated | 05/31/22 | THIS IS A HARD DRAFT TO RANK! | Combine | stats from Bart Torvik
| Alvin Rank | BBBB Rank | First Name | Last Name | Position | College/Club | Age | Height | Wingspan | Weight (lbs) | Notes | Comparison
| 1-4 | Paolo | Banchero | F | Duke | 19 | 6-10 | 7-1 | 250 | Maybe a Detroit Blake Griffin redux but bigger. Bad defensive effort in HS, awful effort in college. I think whereever he has to go has to hold him accountable on defense, because that is the only way I think he'll be a truly great player that effects winning. seems when he locked in he played better. feels like a guard more than a forward in the best way. you just don't see players this size with the ball handling, passing out of the pick and roll, navigation. Love the handle, which paired with his size allows him to get to almost any spot he wants to. I would like to see him work on finishing with his left hand more, as defenses will key in on that immediately. needs to work on knocking down threes in rhythm as he won't have the ball in his hands as often in the NBA, but dude is so, so big. he can get to any spot he wants in the paint as long as he is aggressive.
| 1-4 | Chet | Holmgren | F/P | Gonzaga | 20 | 7-0 | 7-6 | 190 | Instant reaction: next-level Myles Turner on defense, Al Horford on offense. Really physical considering his frame and much better at using his length than someone like Porzingis. Wouldn't be surprised if he's better than prime Porzingis on defense. Has a punchable face but I need a step ladder to do it :( productive with and without the ball, though as of now he is probably not as a main post defender but as an off-ball helper. His instincts on defense are elite, with great reactivity, footwork, and quickness. He also has a fluidity to his motions you don't see in players his size; strides feel perfectly placed to make up open space like crazy. Body control is phenomenal for someone that long and thin too. I am not super concerned about his size as he doesn't have an injury history, has proven to play big minutes at every level, and does a decent job of finishing with both hands around the hoop. I do worry that as he adds some muscle that he might lose some of that quickness like Anthony Davis has in the past year or so. Stats dive: he's finished 87.7% of his shots within 5 feet this year.
| 1-4 | Jabari | Smith | F | Auburn | 19 | 6-10 | 7-2 | 210 | High release, great positional footwork. calling card is defensively, plays high effort. needs to work on skill and footwork a little more but has lots of potential there. elite shooter both on pull ups and spot ups in my eyes. would like to see tighter, lower handle so he can create off the dribble more because as of now he can't really do anything. would expect him to get more boards, and frankly, blocks. not a huge deal to me. needs to add an ability to put pressure on the rim I think - either more than two dribbles so he can get into the paint, or an ability to pass better out of pressure. Top four in D1 in blocks, top five steal rate in D1, top ten rebound rate in D1. he is a good defender in switches and individually, and his shooting is consistent. i bet he'll improve a ton because he contributes positively currently.
| 1-4 | Jaden | Ivey | PG/CG | Purdue | 20 | 6-4 | 6-9 | 195 | toolsy, with potential to be best in the draft class. Wild first step that is harnessed because he's been under the tutelage of the same person as Ja Morant - Niele Ivey (his mom and Notre Dame coach, head of one of strongest women's programs in college). The speed and physicality he has to get to the rack almost feels like John Wall. his straight line blow bys are incredible. not as good a decision maker as either tho. feels more like a combo guard atm, instinct is to penetrate then pass out if he can't get an angle. best off DHOs going right where he can get a step or hop into the shot. weak midrange shot, just three and the cup. seems very right hand dominant finishing, prefers driving to his right too. purdue plays big dominant style that i think works well in the NBA, and he improved in every facet this year. too many defensive lapses, but like another guard we know, he was excellent in clutch moments. big time competitor per reports. need a lot of skill development coaches to get him there but i think he is a top four player in this draft. 20% on jumpers within 10 feet, 29% on all shots off the dribble, 35% on all C&S, a strong 49% shooting off screens. i think it is a pace thing, where cutting and curling forces him to dictate pace better. need to figure out what unlocked vic oladipo bc itll be similar
| lottery 1 | Keegan | Murray | F | Iowa | 21 | 6-8 | 7-0 | 215 | You watch the game and you wonder what the hype is about Murray, and then you look at the box score and wonder how he got 25 and 15. Good scorer but doesn't have a flashy or complicated bag to pull from, just relies on what feels like elite body control. I think a lot of it comes down to really good body control as shots just seem to go in. Main scorer on the team but the ball doesn't stick in his hands. Best playing 4 but seems comfortable defending on perimeter. Feels like Tobias Harris or a less athletic TJ Warren but a better decision maker than either of them when they came into the NBA. Needs to work on creating separation, either from improved athleticism, footwork, or ball handling (most likely). relies a lot on size to get stuff in around the hoop. great in the post but again, needs to improve separation. shot is solid but not great and I am skeptical that he'll be a 38% from three shooter in the NBA, at least early on. that said, his off ball movement is really good for someone his size, with great shot prep and a quick release. i also wonder what is movement shooting potential is because of how good his shot prep is. defense is solid, but i think his versatility here is a bit overblown. seems to try and go for steals more one might think based on his defensive stats. i wonder if his feet are fast enough on both ends of the court to be more than a third, maybe fourth best player on a team. i suspect that will be his role coming into the league and as a weakside creator working on advantages, or scoring on set plays. Feels like a player the Kings will target if they are in the 6 to 10 range, tho i wouldn't be surprised if he goes 5 or even 4. he is low-maintenance, high value, and any team that gets him will be happy with the results, especially early on.
| lottery 1 | Bennedict | Mathurin | CG | Arizona | 19 | 6-6 | 6-9 | 205 | Great shooter off movement, and decent off the dribble in the midrange. Has hit clutch deep shots off movement this season. Will always try to dunk on you. Very inconsistent defensively. When effort is there he is handsy and takes chances off ball. Needs to work on his rim finishing package if he's not dunking it, and while handle is decent it needs to be tightened so he can get to the hoop more. Reportedly a very hard worker. Will need to go more into him but I really like the potential here. Listed at 6'6" but I think he's prolly 6'4". Wingspan seems real though. Background: from montreal, played QB and football almost full time. transitioned to basketball in 2017.
| lottery 1 | Dyson | Daniels | PG/CG | Ignite | 19 | 6-8 | 6-11 | 200 | Basically everything I like in a player minus the shooting. smart smart smart. you watch ignite games and he makes himself known not by flash but by him consistently making the right play in stark contracts to the jaden hardys of the world. makes a decent amount of his plays in quick post situations, either hitting cutters or nailing turnarounds. he is a great passer, one of the bet in this class; does it without flash but delivers passes right where they needs to. ball handling is serviceable, and manages to create space even around the bucket pretty easily. great perimeter defender who will only improve as he gets older and adds strength. defends guards and wings well, though will get beat by the fastest players. fights through screens, great transition defender. maybe the best guard defender of this draftdoes so with great positioning and, based on what i can tell from interviews, just being a film junkie. two sticking points: average athleticism which you can see sometimes as he can't beat people off straight line drives, and his shooting. decent free throw shooter, poor from three. decent around the hoop tho, and his jumper feels smooth. Elite-level floater, think Haliburton or Quickley level. feels like a bigger derrick white, just an unselfish player who cares about making the right move on both ends. Played rugby and Australian football which he credits to being able to finish through contact. watched a recent interview (two days after Mike Brown hire) saying the two teams that interest him the most are the Spurs and Kings, as Mike Brown coaches a team style. fair comp is half-decent shooting lonzo ball with bigger donte divincenzo.
| lottery 2 | Jeremy | Sochan | F/ATH | Baylor | 18 | 6-9 | 7-0 | 230 | Active, active, active. Positionless dude people love on both ends of court. on offense he likes to get to the rim, set screens, and just move lots. I love that. High release, but there's a weird hitch in between the first and second motion. Can that be fixed? Defense is great, partially due to great tools - length and good athleticism - but it is also instinctful, fights through screens, and keeps up with almost anyone he witches on to. That's the biggest thing; he plays hard and doesn't seem to care about numbers, so I think he can get minutes and develop early when a coach needs effort and ball movement. Feels like skinnier boris diaw
| lottery 2 | Shaedon | Sharpe | W | Bruh | 19 | 6-5 | 6-11 | 198 | Incredible bounce in the open court. You watch him and kinda just wait for the next bit of jumping ability to come. It almost feels inevitable that he's going to do something impressive, you just are kind of shocked when it happens because he is a perimeter player. he also feels shocked when he can do these things too, almsot like he is still growing into his abilility. at least, thats how im trying to reconcile his ability. i watched this video of him in HS (#15 in white) and he was just a bit role player. became a superstar quick. not normal trajectory for stars. broad shoulders, good second jump, seems good at catching and protecting the ball (larger hands). Jumps off one or two feet. shoots a ton of off the dribble threes. makes probably an average amount of them, but they're all hard shots made from threes with quick handle and faster release. he won't be getting a ton of these shots in the NBA though, not unless hes on a terrible team or a star. What does the rest of his game look like, and how long will it take to get used to the NBA? what is interesting is that the decision making seems to patient, almost lackadasical. More of a glide than a cut through space but i am unsure what to think of his decision making. Not sure if this is a good thing immediatey, but I bet the jump in processing needed to go from HS to NBA will be a shock without the step of college. you also don't see his athleticism in the half court; he plays much more like someone with average athleticism. that bodes well for long-term ability but you'd think he would find a way to take advantage of what he can do more here.
| lottery 2 | Jalen | Williams | CG/W | Santa Clara | 21 | 6-6 | 7-2 | 210 | Others have him as a deep second rounder, but I am very high on Williams. came to Santa Clara as a 6-3 165 lb PG. second most efficient PnR player in the college this season, and hit several game winners this year in SC's best season in a long time, including a close hard contested floater and contestesd layup against BYU, one of the best college games I've watched this year. he has a smoothness that i love. sooooft floater. great shooter, shows good rhythm in both CnS and off the dribble, finishes with both hands. will often put smaller players in jail and bigger players get beat off the bounce. will he play PG full time in the NBA? doubtful, but that's ok. high-end passer, throws right to the shooting pocket. not super quick but creates space with his body and dribble. he had so many on ball reps that we don't really know how he does off ball but I think he'll figure it out. flashed good off-ball instincts which will be critical to his success early on; if he can score off-ball he'll get to work on his on-ball reps more in the future. plays with effort on defense and you can hear him yelling at teammates telling them where to be. could add some athleticism but I think this is an easy pick.
| lottery 2 | AJ | Griffin | W | Duke | 19 | 6-6 | 6-11 | 225 | What you think of Griffin is based on how much his athleticism is an issue, whether he can regain that atheticism, and if that athleticism will improve his defense. Missed most of Jr and Sr yr with injury. son of former nba player/raps coach Adrien Griffin. injury concerns for sure, as he has lost some of his athleticism already. Was asked to do a lot of standing in the corner, may be a victim of Duke's mediocre offense. Shot form is kinda old school in the sense that a lot of power comes from the upper body. Has a wide base to his shot that isn't conducive to getting shots off quickly or off screens, but dude made 45% of his shots off the dribble and similarly high percentages in high school too. His base narrows to be more normal in these situations, his release stays high, and paired with long arms, he gets through his shot a bit more quickly too. Doesn't seem bothered by people in space, gets to his shot regardless. But then you just look at his jumper statistics and wonder how it goes in. Wide base. Really weird release where his guide hand is all over the ball. But clean, consistent release. Hard to argue that he has been one of the best college freshmen shooters in recent memory. Has that pullup jumper in spades, and his handle is rather effective in getting to his spots. Actually, his handle really impesses me. Just smooth, controlled, well-practiced. I do worry about the lack loss of athleticism in creating space on offense, but if he is on the Kings I would expect him to be the third or fourth ballhandler on the court most of the time. That said, his footwork at times can feel choppy, like he is working a lot to not get very far. Luka is really good at doing the opposite; minimal steps to go far. Defense can be bad, as it seems like the athleticism isn't all the way there in closing space, and his footwork is also kinda choppy there. Uses hands more than he should because he loses a step on defense, sometimes getting blown by. I want to see what his lateral quickness tests like in a combine if possible. Gets caught in screens more than you'd think someone his size would, and can get eaten alive in the PnR; needs to reconsider defense with lowered athleticism in mind. you'd think he would be better considering his father was a lockdown perimeter guy in the NBA. Hopefully some time with NBA-level training will help him get some athleticism back, and whatever team that gets him can give him minutes based on defensive efficacy. If he his his marks he is a top 50 player in his prime, but if the defense doesn't improve he is a bench player.
| lottery 2 | x | Tari | Eason | F/ATH | LSU | 21 | 6-8 | 7-2 | 215 | One word: wild. On screen, he looks closer to 6'6" or 6'7". Seems to have high block rate based on what i've seen. intense, high-effort defender. Consistently engaged on and off ball. Fouls too much, and based on how handsy he is i suspect it will only get worse in NBA. will need to work on that. Surprisingly decent at moving the ball! Seems to have good awareness of where his teammates are and good processing. Needs to up offensive skills; high turnovers, seems to never drive or finish right, lacks a finishing package around the hoop; you can't just put your head down and drive in the NBA. while the shots are going in (and he is getting fouls) I don't think it will translate as currently constituted without some work. Has great tools; high athletcism, huge hands which lead to steals. Shoots free throws well, gets to the line using strength and physicality. Will need to do more work here, namely shooting, using his left hand, and offensive decision making, but I suspect people will rank him highly because of his semblance to Herb Jones and the LSU connection.Officially as a 7-2 wingspan per Givony tweet.
| lottery 2 | Johnny | Davis | CG | Wisconsin | 20 | 6-6 | 6-8 | 195 | maybe better off the ball in NBA. seems to be pulling his team forward. former all-state QB, father a euro player. killer pull up dribble, and can rely on post play, and seems to post taller players equally with guards. serviceable passer? not a lot of vertical pop but strong enough to draw fouls regularly. great balance. hit shots for 17 feet to the 3 point line at 46%. high elevation on the jumper. decent postup but great footwork. can get stepbacks to his left, hang dribble to the right, Really great effort on defense too in what i've seen despite offense workload. not a great shooter, a lot of his threes seem right at the line. 39% of all c&s jumpers from three. The defense is great, and he is an elite defensive rebounder at his position. Plays possessions all the way through on both ends of the court. I think he has a high likelihood of being a sixth man swingman who can compliment a roster easily, and if he can become a guardable shooter he is a starter
| lottery 2 | Mark | Williams | P | Duke | 20 | 7-2 | 7-6 | 242 | High-end finisher, good offensive rebounder, great paint protector. Need to do more research here. Two inches taller and longer than everyone thought per the NBA combine. has grown since the start of the year. 5.4% body fat which is crazy. Brother to Elizabeth Williams, the 2015 #4 WNBA draft pick who led the atlanta mystics to get senator kelly loeffler out of ownership. I see him impacting a team not unlike Jarrett Allen. He might be a bit slower footed than Allen, so he can't handle switches as well as Allen. 9'9" standing reach. incredible.
| 15-20 | Jalen | Duren | P/ATH | Memphis | 18 | 6-10 | 7-5 | 250 | Elite shot blocker. good hands, grabs lobs from all over the place. good rebounder too, plenty of effort. defense is a work in progress, as is small things. dude forgets to block out, generally has lapses mentally. i don't think it is an effort thing personally. ranking him here due to having strong body and stuff but i'm not sure how i feel just yet
| 15-20 | Ousmane | Dieng | W | NZW Breakers | 19 | 6-10 | 7-0 | 200 | Long, lanky, tall wing that people love. His game is predicated on smoothness both on offense and defense. He's been well-coached on defense, knowing what to watch for on defense and helping only when necessary, and his length makes up for some of his messups too. Lack of strength and poor footwork navigating screens means he gets caught, sometimes really hard. Other times he is just too jumpy and lets people create space. One thing to note is the low turnover rate, which you don't expect considering how rudimentary his ball handling and passing seems to be at times. still works well in the PnR., and i think this is one reason why people are high on him. Reports say he played a lot of his professional game as a combo guard, and has grown 5" in the last two years. First game against Brisbane he had a lot of issues creating space for himself, but the second game toward the end he was much more confident. First few games I saw, his jumper looks like lamelo's in high school, more of a flick than a motion. Later games saw he actually had a more fluid, controlled release. there are comparisons to Nic Batum here but Batum was a more polished shooter and more fundamentally sound defensively.
| 15-20 | TyTy | Washington | PG | Kentucky | 19 | 6-3 | 6-8 | 196 | kinda floor bound. bad defensively. i suspect a few rough years in the NBA and a dedicated workout regimine will polish him pretty quick. kinda falls into the good guard from kentucky thing. good jump shooter off the catch or on ball. floater as good as immanuel quickley's?
| 15-20 | Ochai | Agbaji | W | Kansas | 22 | 6-5 | 6-10 | 216 | Steady improvement. He fits into the 3&D skillset well with good shooting as a confident shooter. Quick release. Got many of his shots from the corner, spotting up from three, and moving off-ball in space. He's nailed shots in the clutch too, often catching and shooting in one motion, all on the move. Not elite but a solid understanding of operating off a ballhandler. Smart defender; Kansas runs a pretty NBA-adjacent scheme defensively and Agbaji looks reliable on offense and defense. Seems to at least try to make the right play, right read, though I think he is limited in vision. Not great around the basket tho; part of it is a meh handle and part of it is just a lack of strength through contact. better finishing off cuts but not good self-creating. It is especially odd when you consider that he is pretty athletic (his game isn't predicated on it tho), with good hip mobility and footwork and can surprise you sometimes with how high a leaper he is. You're getting someone who will be able to contribute and get minutes immediately. Need to look at the stats, but he feels like a poor man's mikal bridges. Stats: career 37% from three, 42 in senior year in shooting off the catch from three. 50% at corner threes. Hit 40% of threes beyond 25 feet. even with movement, has a high release. more than just 3 and D shooter, made himself into a scoring threat. passing is fine, not creating many advantage-creating assists. Needs to prove he can even improve his dribble. I think he can be effective in a switching scheme; slides well, seems strong at the core, but I am confident projecting his ability to defend 2 thru 4 in spurts.
| 15-20 | Jaden | Hardy | W | Ignite | 20 | 6-5 | 6-9 | 190 | The Ghost of Dion Waiters. Gets hot quick and has a bunch of moves and ways to get his shot going. Tends to wave off screens ala Waiters for tougher long twos, particularly jumpers as he seems to be a meh finisher. When he does get hot, his defense tends to go up a level two interstingly. The biggest issue is just being locked in consistenty. When he isn't he is bad defensively, generally doesn't do stuff off ball, and seemed unmotivated. Odd situation when you consider he was competing for minutes with Daniels, Scoot Henderson, and Marjon Beauchamp. Other issue to me is just the meh shot selection. He was technically the first option, but there were plenty of other players who could get buckets. Tough to say whether that will be excized or not from his game. If I'm late in the first round and a good team, I take him betting that is the case. Just not sure how well he does if he goes to a lottery team that will have him put up shots. Curious to hear what teammate and Kings alum POOH JETER says about him.
| 15-20 | EJ | Liddell | P | Ohio State | 21 | 6-7 | 7-0 | 240 | love watching this guy play, though there are things I take issue with. He's a statistically good shooter but the shot is sooo flat. You notice it especially as he rims out so often; never left or right, always straight on. Adding some arc to his jumper (ala Davion mid-season) could be a huge boon for him and his shooting consistency. He is big and powerful but is a below the rim player; doesn't quite have the vertical ability you'd want from a forward especially considering his height, essentially taking away his postups too. The 7-0 wingspan helps in faceup shooting, but i can't tell if it is tunnel vision or just being in college that has led to mediocre shot selection. But the thing I love about watching him despite the warts is the motor. He is always going for loose balls, fighting for rebounds, and just trying to out work other players. Need to do watch more games but I bet he works his way into the NBA at some point following the Grant Williams mold.
| 21-30 | Malaki | Branham | W | Ohio State | 19 | 6-6 | 6-10 | 195 | Sweet shooting stroke. Has a bit of Caris LeVert to how herky-jerky he can be to find space in getting shots off. Loves going to the post against smaller players, though slashking is his game more than anything. Like LeVert, the defense needs work. Is he actually better than Jaden Hardy? Need to figure that out.
| 21-30 | Vince | Williams | W | VCU | 22 | 6-6 | 7-0 | 201 | great at relocating off ball. vastly improved his shooting this year but i trust the jumper here. free throw percentage is good. good feel for game, good passer. not the most physical or strongest player, and his handle isn't great. but judging by how hes improved his defense and shooting over the years i bet the ball handling improves too. a player i would love the kings to trade into the first round to get, or maybe get him at the top of the second round maybe?
| 21-30 | Dalen | Terry | CG/W | Arizona | 20 | 6-7 | 7-1 | 195 | Energetic, very competitive. All-defense player in the Pac-10 with his on-ball defense. Played point at times at Arizona and actually did an okay job in their motion-based offense. Handle is solid but not especially flashy. Needs to work on the shot but I think it is manageable. There are a lot of directions he can go here, but I think a reliable c&s jumper paired with the defense is a good place to start. Love the passing ability, low turnover rate, and defensive prowess. Feels like a more emotive Delon Wright; low usage combo guard who fills in the gaps.
| 21-30 | x | Kennedy | Chandler | PG | Tennessee | 19 | 6-0 | 6-6 | 171 | Higher than I would normally put someone like him because he's just so small. Consumate point guard who knows how to throw an entry pass - not everyone does! - and has a midrange game like Nelson. Nelson also was a decent defender despite the size, and chandler is too. Good off ball awareness especially but he will get attacked in the PnR on switches especially. Not as beefy as Jameer Nelson, and depsite being a good shooter from the floor never seemed to make his free throws. 42" vert at combine.
| 21-30 | Jake | LaRavia | W/F | Wake Forest | 20 | 6-9 | 6-10 | 227 | Love the headband. Strong player, good motor, great effort, kinda does everything well as a connective tissue player. Seems as if he touches the ball on every play, but finds the right thing to do every time. Wish he would shoot the three more, i'm sure that'll happen to him in the NBA. He has a consistent, repeatable jumper on the C&S especially, though it might be a little slow. while a pretty average finisher is powerful in going up and working through contact. Relies on quick actions driving and moving to behind the basket to either pass or shoot. Great awareness too, esp on defense where he is great at passing lane anticipation. Handles the ball well and seems to be good enough at getting to his spots, much more creative of a ballhandler than someone like Keegan Murray. Will be great as someone who can get a rebound, push the ball up the court, and find the open player. I won't say he has it all, as he needs to be more nimble on defense, particularly around the perimeter. Interesting bit though is you watch a game and are shocked to find gets so many blocks and steals, just based on guile. People have him ranked in the second round, but I think I would put him in the mid-to-late first. Really like this guy. I don't really do comps, but Matt Harpring is one that comes to mind. Hard to find big wings with this kind of instinct and selflessness, but the athleticism and low volume of threes make me wonder if he can make it work in the NBA. I would bet yes as a safe role player who won't make mistakes on either end of the court, especially as he gets NBA-level strength coaches. i expect his impact to be similar to a slightly more athletic nemaja bjelica, enough to be a consistent starter
| 21-30 | MarJon | Beauchamp | W | Ignite | 21 | 6-6 | 7-1 | 197 | DO MORE WORK HERE. was a relatively low usage player on the Ignite, but found minutes doing the dirty work. He is older than other Ignite players as he came from CC before. his head always seems to be on a swivel. Consistent, reliable, high-effort defender. The shooting is a concern but his form tweaked slightly over the season and the shot started going down. If he makes it to the NBA it will be as a complimentary wing piece. Regardless of what happens I am rooting for the guy because the story is inspiring. He is a rotational wing, even a fifth starter, if he can reliably knock down C&S threes.
| 21-30 | Christian | Braun | W/ATH | Kansas | 21 | 6-6 | 6-6 | 220 | Strong, athletic, but oddly when i watch him i feel like he plays smaller. engaged defensive player. Smooth shooter off the catch, though i wish his shot had more arc to it. for whatever reason doesn't quite have the touch in the lane, often looking bothered on finishes. Has an off-the wall true shooting percentage depsite the meh finishing ability and meh shooting. I think its because so many of his opportunities seem to come in transition. High effort, tough player who finds ways to move the ball around the court. Feels a bit like a louder royce o'neale in potential, but needs to improve shooting and strength a bit. great in defensive scramble situations too. I'm about him.
| 21-30 | Nikola | Jovic | F | Mega Mozzart | 19 | 6-11 | 7-0 | 222 | Another guy I would hope is a draft and stash but considering he almost declared for the draft last year, I suspect he'll want to come over. Classic pass, dribble, shoot guy with great size. Euro scout specialists say his trajectory is similar to Nemanja Bjelica; both have a tough time finishing in traffic but Bjelica had a post game to play mismatches that Jovic hasn't. Bjelica was also far better in the Adriatic league before being drafted, as were other favorites like Jokic, Bogdanovic, Nurkic, and Saric. Jovic is more raw, but still young. most players who come out of this needs to improve focus on defense, and I sometimes question the effort on that end. Will start as a wing and as he fills out likely move to a forward full-time.
| 21-30 | Blake | Wesley | Notre Dame | 18 | 6-4 | 6-9 | 187 | such a creative scorer. length, quickness, good feel for game, solid jumper. passing needs to improve. quick first step. good at always moving even after he makes the pass. quick, decisive actions too
| 21-30 | x | Gabriele | Procida | W | Italy | 19 | 6-8 | 6-8 | 195 | I really like this guy. High energy, good offensive rebounder just from playing hard. Seems to give a shit just by how hard he dunks the ball. Seems to especially give a shit in the biggest games; pulled out a windmill dunk against AX Milano. Great one foot jumper, and while he needs to get stronger to withstand bumps on defense, that jumping ability means he can recover pretty quickly for some surprising blocks. Fluid upper body shot mechanics. Solid off-ball cutter, good feel for spacing. Decent handle that needs tightening and more creativity, but is enough to create reliable, consistent space on stepbacks. would like to see him go through a bit more contact rather than relying on the stepback. Not a great passer off the dribble, I think he needs to improve decision making with ball in hands. Really, really fun.

| AFTER | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Walker | Kessler | P | Auburn | 20 | 7-0 | 7-4 | 256 | Feels like a combinaiton of Jarrett Allen and Jakob Poeltl, just needs work. Impressive rim protector that has shown decent foot speed. Need to do more here.
| Patrick | Baldwin | W/F | Milwaukee | 6-9 | 6-11 | 230 | Not sure where to put him honestly. The lack of effort was wild, shooting was poor, and he was miscast as a first option on his dad's team. 26" vertical from the nba combine.
| Ryan | Rollins | CG | Toledo | 19 | 6-5 | 6-8 | 180 | IYoung sophomore. Outstanding feel feel for offense, knowing where to move, when to get into the jumper, and how to create space. mpressive balance coming off screens to get into his shot. I love the smoothness to his game; nothing feels forced, and everything is in place. Not great athleticism but you can tell he practices in-game situations regularly. I never get the sense that he's going to make the wrong play when I watch him. Just great poise. I want to find a first round space for him.
| early-second rounder | David | Roddy | F | Colorado St | 21 | 6-6 | 7-0 | 255 | a highly-polished bowling ball who also played football at Colorado St. Barrel-chested is an understatement. Great feel for game. makes the right pass, dribbles well, good general footwork on both offense and defense. strong, quick feet for the size too, though it doesn't look like it translates to defense. improved his freethrow and 3 point shot considerably to add to good paint percentages. would he look more like a longer desmond bane with a 20 lb cut? Prolly not, profiles more as a forward. Kinda slow footed on the perimeter but has decent footwork there. Need to look at stats for more bur reminds me of jaesean tate. The head of Sports and Athletics at Colorado State is on record of saying he would love for his daughter to marry David Roddy if they were interested in one another. Weird. Did not have a great combine. really hoping he makes it work, though it is hard to see how he'll make it in the nba.
| Jean | Montero | OTE | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bryce | McGowens | CG | Nebraska | 6-6 | 6-9 | 181 | Great shooting range, smooth, consistent shot. Decent footwork and seem sto be able to get the ball in the hoop. I think hes and underrated passer if given the opportunity, especially in the PnR. Feels a little like Jordan Poole from college.
| Andrew | Nembhard | PG | Gonzaga
| early-second rounder | Caleb | Houstan | W | 6-8
| early-mid second rounder | Keon | Ellis | W | Alabama | 22 | 6-5 | 6-8 | 175 | Elite defender. Almost handsy. Started at a CC before being recruited by Alabama. This year stepped into a bigger role without Josh Primo or Herb Jones. Great steal rate. Wiry but doesn't get knocked around. Graet at navigating screens, which I think is helped by his slenderness. I also think the shot is solid, especially in C&S. Repeatable, clean, not much wasted movement. He is someone who can help now at the end of the bench and likely become a solid role player down the line. stats: 58% on twos, 37% on threes, 89% from the line. King of knowing his role. I WANT HIM
| mid second rounder | Hyunjung | Lee | W | Davidson | 21 | 6-7 | NA | 210 | Only considered Davidson and Washington State. Wants to play like Klay, but at Davidson is put much more into a Duncan Robinson role, just with better ballhandling. Fast, high release, great off ball. needs to up defensive fundamentals but competes. Tries to play in post on occasion like Klay - and shoots well from there! - but not strong enough. Kings have him in for workouts week of 5/10/22.
| Khalifa | Dio | P | Gran Canaria
| Josh | Minnot | Memphis | W | 6-8 | 6-11 | 205 | Bad shooter, good passer, elite rebounder, good defender. good hands, but seems reliant on them defensively as he doesn't move with as much fluidity as i would like, but plays defense from the davion mitchell school of defense: tight, in their chest, and aggressive. positive is he is a solid free throw shooter, but the range shooting was bad
| mid-late second | Julian | Champagnie | St. John's | 6-8 | 6-10 | 212 | streaky shooter, which i think is bc his shot is kinda flat. seems to get flatter when he's tired. great free throw shooter, above average rebounder. needs to foot speed on defense. gets lots of off dribble shots off due to footwork rather than athleticism. strong post defender, seems like he'll be good in a switching scheme. someone to really target in the second round, as i think he would play great next to deaaron and domas
| second rounder | Michael | DeVoe | W | Georgia Tech | 22 | 6-5 | One of the best shooters in this draft, played with RJ Barrett in hs. He's old. Then played next to Jose Alvarado last year. Surprisingly decent handle and really smooth transitions to his shot too. Very consistent, balanced, and quick release. He is also surprisingly high-effort on defense, though the tools don't seem to be too good. Got beat off the dribble reguarly when I watched him against Johnny Davis. He showed up in that game too, smart shots, kept the ball moving. He is someone I am pretty high on myself which is weird that I don't see him on draft boards. I think it is an age thing.
| Israel | Kamagate | P | Paris | 19 | 6-11 | 215 | Draft and stash rim runner.
| Keon | Ellis | Alabama | 6-6 | 175 | really like this guy. high effort and TALKS. communicates on defense, knows where his teammates need to be, knows how to call out switches. that's where his value is, not even necessarily on raw defensive talent. his form can be sometimes wild and he is on his heels more than you'd think for such a good defender. great recovery speed though. i've heard him calling out specific plays too ala rondo or lebron. incredible. very skinny, not likely to add a whole lot more weight
| mid-late second | Trevion | Williams | P | Purdue | 6-8 | 7-3 | 260 | Best passing big in basketball, might be a top five passer in the draft. I prefers to post up and make decisions but for the most part he makes quick decisions that i see translating easily in short roll and quick face ups. all about the dirty work but takes a lot of pride in his passing based on the sheer number of behind the back and over the shoulder and fake passes he makes. huge hands, great feel for tip ins. against bigs, has a surprisingly quick first step. jump shooting is not great, nor is the pick and roll defense on switches. stats: 6 assists per 40 minutes. 53% from shots out of the post, 66% around the rim
| Matteo | Spagnolo | PG/CG | Italy | 6-6 | 6-8 | 210 | I watch him and think draft and stash. Some reports I've seen say he's not totally ready to join the NBA anyways.
| mid-second | Jordan | Hall | PG/W | St Joseph's | 20 | 6-8 | 6-11 | 210 | Tall point guard much? Feels a bit like Kyle Anderson once he developed a jumper, at least on offense. Not as slow, but pretty crafty and an elite passer in this draft. Relies too much on the fadeaway because he has a tough time getting separation from bigger players. Not great defensively, seems to be caught ill-focused and doesn't have the speed to make up mistakes. Handle is also kinda high too, I worry about not being able be a secondary offensive hub in the way Kyle Anderson is.
| Roko | Prkacin | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| late second | Pete | Nance | F/P | Northwestern | 21 | 6-10 | He is well-rounded much like his brother Larry Nance Jr, and dad Larry. The least athletic of the three but still a plus athlete. Very fluid athlete, good ballhandling for his size to get to spots and I watched a few games where he did a great job with quick hitting passes to cutters at the elbows. Also good on defense, with plenty of speed to defend bigger players and a prime hedge player on defense too. Quick feet on the perimeter. I honestly doubt he'll be as good as Larry, but I think he is an NBA player today. To me, his athleticism and defensive activity would be a good fit next to Sabonis. Of course the shot I think is why people aren't high on him; stats are good and he's a good finisher but it is a janky two-motion shot with a bit of a hitch to it. Kinda flat too, though he's shot well through most of college from three and is 85% from the line. I think it also has to do with jack of all trades type players not often translating. You usually want a player with at least one elite skill and Pete doesn't have that. Not sure where to place him at the moment, but probably late second round.
| second rounder | Tevin | Brown | CG/W | Murray State | 23 | 6-6 | Second in the nation in shots made off screens, 43.4% from three on lots of attempts from deep. Has improved ballhandling and ability to get into the paint over the years. Need to watch more than half a game with him.
| I DONT KNOW | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Justin | Lewis | ATH | Marquette | 6-8 | 7-3 | 235 | Probably mid second round. An athlete, but the few clips I've seen make me question the motor.

| Wendell | Moore | Duke | 6-6 | 7-1 | 217 | MET WITH KING

| Josh | Minnot | Memphis | 6-9 | 7-0 | 197
| Jaylen | Williams | Arkansas | Played for Eric Mussleman. Led college in charges drawn.

| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| OUT OF DRAFT | Terquavion | Smith | CG | NC State | 19 | 6-4 | 6-6 | 165 | Not sure where to put him; my heart of hearts says a first rounder. Too good a shooter off the dribble and too good off off the pass to not be high on him, but he is small. He is small, like he looks like he's 160 lb ish. You see it on defense, you see it on his at-rim finishing. He'll be a first-rounder next year if he adds muscle and defensive intensity but that defense is baaad.
| Harrison | Ingram | W | Stanford | 6-7 | 7-0 | 233 | Really into the postup and spin to right hook, which I think is cool. Very polished finisher. Great passing abilily, strong feel overall. Bigger, more athletic, but seems to need the ball in his hands. very high feel and players with this level of feel for the game stick. needs to shoot the ball.
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| overall thoughts: an incredibly hard draft for me to project. not really sure how to feel about a lot of these players, but i like a lot of these. not sure there's a cade-level prospect here, but the top three/four here would fit at the top of any draft. i do not, however, think that this is a particularly deep draft. i think there's a bit of a drop after the lottery, and then another drop in the mid-20s.
