Succesively we want to reach 1000 WES of COVID-19 cases, different severity course (we will have clinical data) plus 254 population controls (1254 WES in total)

As a population study, we have info about the lifestyles of people who were not infected or did not have symptoms, meaning we can enrich for exposed uninfected / asymptomatic as a helpful control

CHIRP (COVID-19 Host Immune Response Pathogenesis) StudySulggi Leesulggi.lee@ucsf.eduDavid Siegeldavid.siegel@ucsf.edu300100X100100100yesWe are currently enrolling; SF COVID rates are down but we are still enrolling weekly somehow. Inpatient banked samples with serial serum (to do corresponding cytokine work) is being used to track patients admitted to San Francisco General Hospital since April 2020 and we are now obtaining whole blood for DNA extraction prospectively (~5 samples a week rate currently). Sample colletion estimated to be complete ~ Feb or March 2020
