Student and Staff WellnessWith the cases being on the rise and the Blue Ridge Health Department has a case percentage as of two days at 9.5% how can we even be talking about Stage 4 when my undersanding at 8% we are to remain in Stage 1? How are we going to handle a new strain of the virus? Is there an conversation regarding staff receing the vacine? This is my question as well. In fact, I just emailed Jason with the CDC School Metrics data from our county, which shows we have exceeded BOTH indicators that the county said would cause us to immediately fall back to Stage 1.

Instruction/TechnologyI personally disagree with what is being asked of teachers for Stage 4. In terms of hours worked, most of us just completed a full year's worth of work in one semester by converting our curriculum to a virtual learning environment. Now we're being asked (and expected) to put in another year's worth of work to convert our curriculum to fit a hybrid environment. The division is asking (and expecting) too much from its teachers in an already stressful time. We should either be full time virtual, or full time in person. It is completely unreasonable to ask us to completely revise (again) our curriculum for a new semester. The workload is simply not sustainable. Teachers need to be given the freedom to teach hybrid classes using the online materials created for S1 - i.e. not reprimanded if they have the kids sit at individual desks working on their computers each day while supervising from the corner

Instruction/TechnologyAre there plans in place for making sure each hybrid class has the technology it needs? A second computer for display, a way of capturing class for virtual students? Extra cameras and help? We can't simultaneously teach hybrid group A, hybrid group B, all virtual students AND be our own camera operators, tech support, etc.

This is one of my concerns as well. What will the policy be regarding students that request to leave a classroom to use the restroom or get a drink of water?

I have been very locked down, but my students regularly tell me that their families are traveling, hosting parties, etc. If we go back in person, I have then come into contact with anyone any member of that family came into contact with.

Instruction/TechnologyBased on the lastest announcement, it sounds possible that we could have less than a week's notice to prepare for a move from Stage 3 to Stage 4. I would hope the Superintendent and school board members would recognize that making the necessary changes to curriculum and instructional practices would require more time.

Instruction/TechnologyRegarding the above question, how is it even possible to consider making shifts from one stage to the next on a week-by-week basis? The so-called protocals have stipulated all along that movement to the next higher stage would only occur at the 9-week break. This flies in the face of that. I have no idea how teachers, staff, students, and families are supposed to function "normally" as we wait for the Wed announcement to tell us what we're doing on Monday.

Student and Staff WellnessI am incredibly concerned about the changes to lunch distribution should we ever get to Stage 4. Once we do, the plan is to stop distribution of lunches to students who remain virtual. This creates a huge inequity, and most likely will hit our highest-need students the most.

That there is no true group work and there is staying in desks 6 feet apart at all times. Images of the classrooms and hallways need to be shared. I am concerned that students do not understand what it will be like.

One suggstion I have seen with other school districts in addition to town halls (which I feel does not get the info out to a majority of families) is the use of social media. Consider creating short videos on how you will walkk halls, how you pick up lunch, bathroom visits, proceedure for entrance/temp taking, mask wearing, what classrooms will look like, etc.
