| Instructions for Use:
| READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
| DO NOT EMAIL ME AND REQUEST ACCESS TO EDIT THIS SPREADSHEET
| I WILL IGNORE ALL SUCH REQUESTS
| 1) Make a copy of this spreadsheet in your own Google Drive (this copy is not publicly editable)
| When you first load your copy of the document, it should ask if you want to authorize usage of scripts : just say "yes".
| Scripts are necessary for the spreadsheet to work (sorry)
| In addition, downloading this spreadsheet to Excel WILL NOT WORK. Many of the formulae used are not compatible with Excel, nor will you see the buttons that are needed for things to work properly
| I'm currently working on a C# version of this spreadsheet that should be much easier to use, but in the meantime, this spreadsheet works :)
| 2) Never edit ANY cell that is not colored white! This is very important as you will likely be destroying a formula cell and cause the spreadsheet to break!
| 3) Go to the "Data" tab and fill out value for your troops (i.e. bonuses from tech and other things) so that the sheet has actual numbers for calculations
| Try to keep these numbers up to date as you increase your lost arts, change your crystals, get new relic bonuses, increase your paragon level, etc.
| 4) Despite their high cost efficiency, do NOT use imperial, eldritch, darkened units for BGs. Also do not use units that require Maranian Amulets to create.
| This is because the way the BG calculates costs for these types of units does not give good rewards
| Only use the unit types listed for the BG type (rows 14-29 for Defensive BGs, and rows 19-28 for Offensive BGs)
| 5) The numbers next to the unit names in the BG tabs are the efficiency values for that unit type. The higher the number, the more efficient it is to use for BGs
| Currently, this is just the resources/min used to build the unit. Yes, I know that seems counterintuitive, but the whole idea of BGs is to convert resources,
| so the faster you funnel resources into them, the faster you'll get your payouts.
| 6) See instructions below on Defensive and Offensive BG pages for how to do those BGs
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| Defensive Battleground Instructions:
| 1) Record the locations and levels of each green (defensive) BG in the top of each column of the Defensive BG tab (look at the bottom of this page to see the "tabs" for this spreadsheet)
| 2) Send 1 archer to each green (defensive) BG visible in your eagle's nest.
| 3) Record the numbers of enemies in each BG
| 4) Decide which unit types to send by adjusting the dropdowns for inf, cav, occ, and bst defensive troops. If a dropdown turns red, that means that the
| unit type is not best suited for that type of defense and will not be as efficient.
| 5) Send enough troops to get the highest level BG to yellow. Record the number of troops killed, enemies killed, etc.
| Note that as you record the number of enemies killed, the troops needed to kill the BG will be updated as well.
| 6) Start sending troops to kill off lower level BGs
| Note that you do NOT want to send massive amounts of troops to overkill BGs as the whole point is LOSE units.
| Overkilling reduces your losses and just increases the amount of time until your next payout.
| I've also been told that sending too many troops incurs an extra 30% loss, but I don't know if that's actually true.
| In either case, overkilling BGs is not a good thing to do :)
| 7) When you kill a BG, record the rewards, troops lost, troops killed, etc. When that is done, hit the "Clear" button at the top of the column.
| (Don't worry, all relevant data gets stored for long-term usage!)
| Wait until the spreadsheet is done updating before continuing (this could take a bit depending on how powerful your computer is)
| 8) When the "Remaining Payout Balance" in the upper left gets negative (it will turn red), then you should be ready for a payout - send troops to kill the
| highest level BG that you yellowed earlier.
| Note that if this is the first time using this sheet, you'll have to guestimate a bit since there is not enough initial data to tell when your last payout was.
| Alternatively, you can use the "Payout BG Level" - This is the level of BG which will give a payout given your current balance.
| 9) When you get a payout (even if you still have other BGs yellowed), hit the "Payout" button (BEFORE hitting the "Clear" button)
| This will record the rewards and calculate how much is needed before your next payout. This is NOT an exact science as Plarium seems to
| throw in some randomness, but in my testing, it is pretty accurate if you record your last large payout correctly.
| You will know when you have a large payout by looking at the bottom 2 rows for the BG - if the reward ("Bank Debit") is MUCH larger than your
| losses ("Bank Credit"), then it is a large payout and you should hit the "Payout" button (unless, of course, the BG was already yellowed during.
| your last payout and the credits were already applied to the previous balance). It's confusing at first, I know, but you'll get the hang of it quickly.
| 10) The Remaining Balance should now be positive.
| Continue the above steps and make sure to record enemy losses, your losses and rewards accurately.
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| Offensive Battleground Instructions:
| 1) For each red (offensive) BG visible in your eagle's nest, record the location and level in the Offensive BG tab of this spreadsheet
| 2) Send 10-20 pikemen, paladins or pathfinders to the BG. Record your troops lost as well as the number of enemies killed for that BG.
| The "Attack With" row should then update and tell you the most efficient type of troop (inf, cav, occ, or bst) to send to kill that BG.
| Note that you can also look below in the "Vs" rows (29-33) and see the numbers. The lower the number, the more efficient that troop type
| will be in killing that BG. Sometimes, the numbers are equal, but the "Attack With" row will only show one of the types. You can use either
| troop type in those cases with the same efficiency.
| 3) As with Defensive BGs, the process is pretty much the same after this point - yellow the highest BG and kill lower level BGs until
| your "Remaining Payout Balance" goes negative. Record the enemy losses, your losses, and the rewards for each killed BG, then hit the "Clear" button.
| If you get a payout (the reward is MUCH larger than the amount you spent killing the BG), then hit the "Payout" button before hitting "Clear"
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| BG Tournament/Saga Quest Instructions (Optional):
| 1) As you are rewarded various units from BG tournaments and Saga quests, you can record them in the table at the bottom of the bank tab
| This is mainly for recordkeeping so that your win/loss ratio shows the benefits gained from these BG-related things as well.
| Overall, this will give you a more accurate accounting of how good your conversion rate is with BGs
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| New (Experimental) Method for BGs (possibly an exploit and may get fixed):
| 1) You first must fill your BG Bank. This means doing a bunch of your BGs to a single yellow line without conquering them. This part is a must.
| 2) Next, once your bank is full to the best of your knowledge, conquer your Offensive TASK BG. You will get a modest payout and the 2 skull runes. (STEP 3 is Crucial, so read on FIRST)

| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| 3) If you conquered the task BG in step 2 and only received the 2 skull runes, then your bank was not full. If this happens, do the task BG again.
| You MUST conquer a task BG and get a payout. Once you have conquered your TASK BG and gotten a trop payout, you will get a window that pops up about the XP for doing the task.
| DO NOT CLICK “Claim Prize”. Instead, close the window with the X in the upper right. This will leave your task icon on the left looking like mine does below:
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| 4) Now that you have conquered your task BG for the above pay out, and CLOSED the Claim Prize window without claiming the prize yet, conquer your highest NON-Task BG:
