It sure lookst like an old supermarket!

FLMiami5301 NW 37th AveIndustrial building (see comment)NOTES: ---------------- This location has been identified as a GU, but the building looks nothing like a retail store, and the area is very industrial, so it might not be the right location. I have confirmed the other two Miami locations with photos, and I know Miami had at least three locations.

Hale: "Building is gone, replaced by high rise office space.  Would have opened in the 1960s.  Replaced in the 1980s by a Dart Drug.  Demo probably happened after Dart Drug closed with the Haft Family implosion in the early 1990s."

MDGaithersburg16567 South Frederick Road
Basics > Food Lion > Bottom Dollar > Food Lion > Weis
(1) (2) - NOTES: ---------------- From M. Hale: "Opened with the center in 1967. Became Basics Food Warehouse in the late 1980s. The shopping center was renovated in the early 1990s. The original Grand Union building was demolished and replaced with a Food Lion. Food Lion became Bottom Dollar when that concept was rolled out. It was back to Food Lion when Bottom Dollar was put out to pasture. The store was divested to Weis as a part of the Ahold-Delhaize merger. Weis is operating there now using the Food Lion interior, fixtures, layout, etc."

82
MDSilver Spring9440 Georgia AveStaples(3) NOTES: ---------------- From Michael Hale: "Opened in 1959.  Likely in the spot that is currently Staples.  Staples has an arched roof (but hidden on the inside) which is discussed in articles on the stores opening.  No specifics on when this store closed but it was likely when Grand Union pulled out of the DC market in the mid-1980s."
