About: This spreadsheet was created for use in tandem with PhotoPills to calculate exactly where and when and the moon or sun will rise/set when photographing in uneven mountainous terrain.

The fields below can be modified to preplan complicated sunrise, sunset, lunar eclipse or solar eclipse shots over mountainous terrain with horizons that do not equal zero degrees. For example, this spreadsheet was originally created to plan a shoot with the 2015 Super Harvest Blood Moon rising over a mountain peak that was approximately 11 degrees above the horizon from the Artist Point Trail in Washington State.
