List
Course Prerequisites
2
The following courses may be considered for high school-based dual credit if the course at the high school meets the following conditions:
1. The high school course is on the list of the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) with an appropriate course number and description.
2. Dual credit agreements are based on The Ivy Tech Community College policy requirements outlined in ASOM 4.3 with specific attention to the following:
a. Prerequisites: All secondary students taking dual credit courses must meet the academic prerequisites for the course.
b. Course content: Course syllabi used for high school-based dual credit courses must be comparable to course syllabi used in the same courses taught on an Ivy Tech campus, including class assignments, laboratory equipment and examinations. Textbooks shall be comparable.
c. Student learning outcomes: Student learning outcomes must be the same as student learning outcomes expected for the same course taught on the Ivy Tech campus.
d. Faculty credentials: High school faculty teaching a course for dual credit must meet the credential requirements of the IDOE and of Ivy Tech Community College as outlined in ASOM 7.1.
3. Special Notes:
a. If the specific learning objectives for an Ivy Tech course are achieved across multiple high school DOE courses, then the student enrolls in the Ivy Tech dual credit course in the semester in which mastery of the Ivy Tech subject matter and learning objectives is achieved.
b. The sequence of courses must be consistent with Ivy Tech course pre-requisites.
4. If the high school course qualifies under the requirements outlined above and ASOM 4.3, this crosswalk of courses must be followed.
5. Please note that the ITCC Dual Credit Crosswalk does not include all of the NLPS courses.
6. Course Outlines of Record can be accessed via the Ivy Tech Catalog at catalog.ivytech.edu.
The Indiana College Core consists of 30 credit hours, the completion of which at one public institution means it can transfer as a block and count as satisfying the Indiana College Core equivalent at the receiving institution. Students must take one three-credit hour course in each of categories listed below along with a total of 30 credit hours in total among all six categories. ICC Courses are highlighted in blue.

Written Communication, Speaking & Listening, Quantitative Reasoning, Scientific Ways of Knowing, Social and Behavioral Ways of Knowing, Humanistic and Artistic Ways of Knowing

Next Level Programs of Study (NLPS) offers high school students enrolled in career and technical education courses the opportunity to earn college credit via dual credit.

NLPS courses are offered in the following sequence: Principles, Concentrator A, and Concentrator B, and Capstone. Courses are required to be offered in the correct sequence. A student completing an Ivy Tech affiliated NLPS pathways results in students earning a post-secondary credential (certificate or technical certificate) from Ivy Tech. Funding from the state is dependent on courses being offered in the correct sequence. NLPS Courses are highlighted in orange.

Non-NLPS IDOE CTE courses will no longer be offered on the dual credit crosswalk following the 2023-2024 academic year.
Dual credit courses must meet the equipment requirements, if any, of a course to be able to offer the course for dual credit.

Please reach out to your local program chair for a list of required equipment if one has not been published yet.
