At the same time, the club prepares students for future careers in STEM, design and innovation-related fields by introducing applied design. The DIY Design & Innovation Club hopes to enhance student participation, create a culture of innovation, and bring practical impact to the school and surrounding community.

The goal of the club is to represent the country, teach the culture and have fun while doing so.

Through our club students can gain service hours by going to Soldier Angels events, this is the organization that we will be donating the paracords made to, and veritably giving back to first responders. The Paracord Project will allow members to not only learn how to make paracords, but also experience how rewarding the act of giving back is, especially to those who are risking their lives for us and generally don’t get enough recognition.

The Spanish Literature and Community Club (SLCC) will provide Spanish-speaking SPUSD high school students, whether they are heritage speakers or were participants in the district's elementary and middle school dual immersion program, with a casual and fun place to continue developing their language skills and explore diverse literature and genres. The Spanish Literature and Community Club will contribute to South Pasadena High School by encouraging self-directed language development, promoting cultural heritage, and community involvement. Selected books will be primarily at a high school and college reading level, but, depending on interest, the club will group participants by level if necessary. Moreover, our purpose is to provide reading suggestions and opportunities for discussion in and about the Spanish language, culture, and literature, to strengthen language skills, and to create a deeper connection.
