General Rules:

Draft
4
- Each GM sends a top-5 preference list for where they would like to pick in the reverse snake-draft.
5
- Each preferred pick slot must be unique (e.g., If you'd like pick 12, you can only list that as one of your 5 preferences)
6
- The draft order is determined by going through each GM's first preference, and awarding the pick to GMs that have a unique claim. Some examples:
7
- If only 1 out of 16 GMs requests pick 7 as their first preference, they are awarded the pick.
8
- If multiple GMs listed pick 7 as their first preference, none of them would be awarded it. All of them would then have the chance to uniquely claim their 2nd preference
9
- This process continues (repeatedly) through all listed preferred picks until as many GMs can be placed from the submitted lists as possible.
10
- If there are remaining GMs who are unplaced, they will be contacted and asked to list their preferences among the remaining picks.
11
- Our draft is a Reverse Snake Draft:
12
- Round 1: Team 1 -> 16
13
- Round 2: Team 16 -> 1
14
- Round 3: Team 16 -> 1
15
- Round 4: Team 1 -> Team 16 (Substitute players)
16
- The draft is an offline-draft done via reddit messaging (if you prefer discord, contact me to let me know using the reddit messager!)
17
- GMs will have 24 hours per pick
18
- GMs are encouraged to keep big-boards of players they would like to draft if available 2-4 picks before they are up.
19
- Players who are anticipated to become eligible for the upcoming RLCS season (e.g., Scrzbbles for 2024) CAN be drafted.
20
- A player suspended for the entire upcoming season, or who will not be old enough to compete by the Spring split, CANNOT be drafted.
21
- If you'd like the official ruling on a player, feel free to send me a message.
22
- Drafted players (including those in round 4) cannot be team coaches. There are currently no coaches allowed for the teams in this project.

24
Tournament
25
- Seeding for teams will be randomized from 1-16 once the draft is completed.
26
- Our tournament will run a Swiss Bracket that finishes before the World Championship
27
- The top-8 teams from the Swiss Bracket will verse in a Final-Bracket that takes place following the World Championship
28
- The winner of this Final-Bracket will be the RLFS Season 3 champion

How Series are Decided
31
- Series are decided with posted polls to the RLEsports subreddit.
32
- The only assumptions for the series are:
33
- All matches are played in a hypothetical LAN setting with a neutral-crowd present
34
- All players can fluently speak a universal language
35
- Reddit users vote in a weighted poll to decide who wins the series
36
- Weighted Voting for a Best-of-5 series (Swiss matchups):
37
- Team X wins in 5: 0.6 votes to Team X / 0.4 votes to Team Y
38
- Team X wins in 4: 0.75 votes to Team X / 0.25 votes to Team Y
39
- Team X wins in 3: 1.0 vote to Team X
40
- Weighted Voting for a Best-of-7 series (Final Brack matchups):
41
- Team X wins in 7: 0.57 votes to Team X / 0.43 votes to Team Y
42
- Team X wins in 6: 0.67 votes to Team X / 0.33 votes to Team Y
43
- Team X wins in 4 or 5: 1.0 votes to Team X
44
- These game-odds are then used with a random number generator to determine which team wins each series, game-by-game.
45
- Results are posted to the RLEsports subreddit as sims.
46
47
GM Messages
48
- For every matchup in the tournament, each GM is encouraged to submit a message to u/wizard213 on why they believe their team should win
49
- GMs are encouraged to either create a generic statement about their team, or to send an updated message prior to each matchup.
50
- GM messages have a maximum word limit of 250 words
51
- 1 image is permitted in addition to the 250-word limit. Words in the image count towards the 250-word limit total.
