Mortality estimate 100
Patient treated through ER estimate 900
In-patient admitted estimate 200
Mostly traumatic # like tibia-fibula, femur, spine, head injury, blunt trauma.
So far only provisional treatment (POP, Slab) provided.
No definite Rx like implant, plate done in OR due to fear of patients from after shocks
All medicines provided free so far

We are adjusting our staff so far with 24 hr duty. Any Additional help may be helpful. So far we are sufficient.SalineThere is tentative plan to start surgery in 2 days or so. But we are short of logistic supplies like surgical implants (plates, nails), gauze, saline, anesthetic drugs, antibiotics, O2.. Basically items needed to perform surgery in OR.

So far we have seen only fee cases of blunt abdominal trauma taken to OR.

Also our in patient units are full.
To start services outside, we will need tents, shelter, etc.

Have seen few volunteers provide water and noodles, but meals and water to patients and families will be helpful.

Mortality estimate 90+ (lots of patients from the local area)
Trauma seen 300 +
100 in-patients
Mostly orthopedic injuries like tibia, fibula, femur, spine, head, etc.

Only provisional treatment (slab, plaster) provided free of cost, borne by hospital so far. (Nepal government to provide funds later).

No definite surgery yet. Hospital still functional, not much damaged by earthquake.
SalineHave sufficient amount of basic supplies like plaster, slab, etc. But due to high demand, any additional help is appreciated.

Need logistics -surgical supplies like implants, nails, plates, anesthetic drugs, antibiotics, saline, gauze, in order to start definite treatment once the aftershocks become less. Now patients not willing to gomfor surgery due to fear of aftershocks.

Sponsors seen providing water and food to patients but additinal help in this regard is also needed.

10 major injuries, airlifted to KTM. 30-40 other minor injuries stable.
There is 1 MBBS doctor there who is managing. There is no operating room at the hospital. However, Arughat could be used as a base to reach areas harder hit higher up like Barpak. We could try to set up a mobile camp/OT there and possibly have a second team that would head to Barpak. I have anesthesia and general surgeons and health assistants team who are willing for 4 to 5 days service. We would need help with materials and helicopter drop off at Arughat.
General medicines--

We are conducting free health camps at various places at the outskirts of Kathmandu. Yesterday we went to Sakhu north of KTM ...we treated around 200 patients during our 5-6hrs of stay at Dhunla Tole...on average there are 50 to 100 cases of minor injuries.

Today we went to Bungmati, Lalitpur where we conducted similar kind of free health camp. Besided providing free medications..we also provided food like biscuits, noodles, beaten rice for free to the affected people. We saw nearly 50 minor injuries and around 5 to 10 seriously affected patients and managed accordingly.
We mostly need orthopedicians and primary care physicians including paramedics along with non medical human and physical resources.
Besides doctors we need few nurses, non medical human resources and trained personnels with equipment necessary during disaster relief and management.
