CLAUDIA DODSON VHSL SPORTSMANSHIP, ETHICS AND INTEGRITY AWARD

OBJECTIVE: Development of Citizenship and Sportsmanship is a high priority in the state of Virginia and is in the best interest of interscholastic athletics. This self-assessment is provided to assist the VHSL and member schools to foster sportsmanship behavior at all VHSL sanctioned events.

Award Requirement Criteria

1. Schools with no ejections (Stay in the Game Award)

- 90% or higher on the self-assessment (completed and submitted by May 1)

- An online peer review from two schools in your district/conference is required (completed and submitted by May 15).

- Both reviewing schools must score the applying school with an 80% or better overall rating.

- The applying school may not have been involved in any sportsmanship incidents requiring an official VHSL Warning, Probation or Suspension.

2. Schools with one ejection

Points are awarded based on the number of categories checked. This tool is to be used as a score for the Claudia Dodson VHSL Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award. SECTION I. ADMINISTRATION/ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
