Ely to PrestonStart - Ely06.970yIt's a city. Cities have water
3
Ward Mountain Campground6.972.626.97n
I walked through the campground and forgot to check the water. There should be a spigot here, USFS website says
4
Trough9.590.229.59yGood water flowing from pipe into nasty trough
5
Aqueduct9.821.269.82yWater coming out of Aqueduct pipe. Maybe a liter or two for a minute. Collect directly from pipe
6
Trough11.082.1511.08yTrough with a trickle of water running into it, clear, minimal algae
7
Pine Spring13.230.8113.23nLots of Green, a trough. No definitive sign of water from satellite, but looks promising.
8
Trough14.043.8414.04yDecent water in this Trough
9
Creek17.880.1617.88yTiny Creek with flowing water
10
Creek18.041.3018.04yTrickle of flowing water. Would need to dig a shallow pit to collect from
11
Spring19.348.8619.34yVery small trickle coming out of this spring. Need to dig this out a bit to collect from it
12
Water Canyon - Creek28.204.9528.20y
This is a good flowing Creek. No problem collecting from this one. It should be reliable, hence the name water Canyon. Very green and Lush.
13
Millard Spring33.156.8833.15yA filthy pool of water, fouled by cows. Draw from source, may have to dig pool a little deeper
14
Lone Pine Spring40.030.8640.03n
Trough here on satellite. Looks like it could have water, but no definitive signs. The Egans have had a lot of of thus far…
15
Fourth Sawmill Spring40.890.8640.89nIt's definitely greener here , you can tell water collects in this depression. But alas, no visible water from satellite.
16
First Sawmill Spring41.751.7541.75n
There is a small pond here that has just recently dried up. In fact there looks to be a very small puddle left in the middle. There is a good chance of water here, just hope it is piped so you don't have to draw from the cow pon
17
Hole in the Bank Spring43.504.0043.50nLooks like some water here on satellite. Looks promising
18
Silver Spring47.504.4547.50nLooks like water from satellite
19
Carter Spring51.951.3051.95n
I would not be surprised to see water here early season. It looks like water has been here, but not visible from satellite imagery.
20
Schoolhouse Spring53.258.6053.25nA small run visible from satellite.
21
Blue Spring61.857.2561.85nThere is a decent size pool here. This looks like it could be a good watering hole
22
Longs Canyon Spring69.102.2069.10n
Water tank here with cow paths leading to it. Small patch of green nearby. Can't confirm water from satellite, this one is a maybe.
23
Haggerty Spring71.306.8071.30n
This one looks promising from satellite. There is definitely Some sort of run below the spring, but it looks dry from satellite. There is a nice patch of green grass at the spring source and a two roads that lead here. If no water here at this marker, follow 1/4 mile upstream to spring source
24
Big Spring78.105.0578.10n
There is definitely water visible from satellite, forming a small creek, puddle over road. This one almost certainly has water.
25
Shingle Spring83.1510.8183.15y
Large round trough with giant tree over hanging it. Massive amounts of algae and bugs. Can collect direct from pipe. If you can stand the bugs.

Sunnyside Creek4.802.5598.76yPlenty of flowing water
31
Dacey Reservoir7.353.05101.31y
Upper Dacey Reservoir. Lots of water here but it's a bit of a marsh, not the easiest to collect from at this location.
32
Hot Creek Spring10.4011.60104.36yPlenty of water here. Warm spring, incredible swimming hole!
33
Lower Forest Home Spring22.002.50115.96n
Spring is located upstream from here, but this is the spot that seems to have the greatest potential for water. Looks like a couple of very shallow puddles here, and a tiny trickle flowing in and out.
34
Forest Home Spring24.506.75118.46n
Unverified spring, but very promising. This appears to be the spring that feeds the creek that supplies water to the ranch down hill.
35
Big Spring31.2517.25125.21n
No water visible from satellite. However, there is a lot of green here in the ditch downstream, and there looks to be some potential to find water here. This is the last chance for water before staying high and dry on the crest of the grant range. fill up here, if there is water
36
Big Game Guzzler48.5012.60142.46yGuzzler full of water June 2020
37
Cherry Creek61.101.25155.06y
This creek should be flowing year round. There are several crossings here that require logs. It's very green and lush, shaded.
38
Cherry Creek62.350.55156.31yWater dries up upstream from here. Water mostly available downstream from here.
39
Spring62.901.60156.86yAnother spring reappears in the creekbed
40
Water64.502.40158.46ySpring in wash, small trickle
41

42
Willow Creek69.802.00163.76yThere is flowing water here, but it also flows through some extremely thick brush.
43
Waterfall71.8010.00165.76y3-4ft waterfall here! Flowing strong in mid June, could possibly be dry later in the year
44
Stone Reservoir Corral81.8025.50175.76y
WARNING: Last water for 39 miles to HWY 6. There is no water here either, this is where you will hitch into Tonopah. So FILL UP here! Water here in June 2020. The trough is full, fed by a large tank. There was a generator here as well to operate the pump. This indicates potential for there to be no water here if the rancher has his cattle elsewhere. Check map for alternate water sources to the NE, and one to the SW
45
Lunar Crater107.3012.84201.26yThis is not a busy spot, but tourists do routinely visit this spot, might be able to yogi some water
46
Section End - Hwy 6120.14214.10yNo water here. Nothing is here. It's 80+ miles to anything in either direction, get that thumb out and hitch into town
47
48
Tonopah to CarversSection Start - Hwy 60.0010.90214.10yNo water here, bring yours from Tonopah before hitching back out here
49

50
Creek17.352.80231.45yWater flowing in this Creek. Can collect from it easily, lots of cow shit nearby
51
Water20.152.35234.25yA Green Meadow with a couple of pools of water. However, fouled by cows
52
Spring22.509.80236.60y
Off the side of the road to your left when heading up Hill is a small Green Meadow. There's a trickle of water running through here. It is guarded by Thorn bushes, so continue heading up Hill until you passed the thorn bushes and there is a route down to the meadow. This spring is dry here though, you must had back down hill until you see the spring flowing.
53
South Six Mile Canyon Spring32.301.70246.40y
This is the spring source. A small Creek flows downhill, rode through the canyon crosses the creek two or three times.
54
Seep34.000.55248.10y
Small trickle of water seeping out of the ground. Downstream, there is a flowing Creek. There's lots of green in this meadow , one should be able to find water somewhere.
55
Seep34.550.45248.65y
There is water coming out of the hillside here, but is collecting in a rather stagnant pool. There is a lot of horse activity in this Canyon, I would get my water from the seep uphill
56
Water35.000.15249.10y
Very small trickle. Would have to dig a little hole. However, There appears to be other water sources in this Canyon.
57
Creek35.151.10249.25ySmall Creek in this very Lush green Canyon, lots of Aspen trees. Best water yet for this canyon.
58
Spring36.250.90250.35yNice flowing creek. Lots of horses
59

This is the same Creek that has been flowing through this entire Valley. There is no shortage of water in this Valley
60
Creek38.750.65252.85yFlowing Creek. Might need to dig a small pool to collect from
61
Lower Fandango Spring39.4013.50253.50ngood chance of water being here, looks like a small pool on satellite
62
Clover Creek52.902.30267.00ySmall flowing creek, follow upstream until it gets big enuogh to collect from
63
Spring55.2017.40269.30y
This spring forms a small flowing creek. Even here at the source, the water is fouled by cows, but drinkable. This area has seen heavy grazing
64
Creek72.602.80286.70y
There's a flowing Creek here, it is shallow and the there was a lot of vegetation growing in the water. However, it was very simple to remove the vegetation and a few rocks to make a deeper pool to collect from.
65
Spring75.401.10289.50nMaybe/probably water here, but just walk another mile and get water from the large creek flowing over the road

68
Spring92.957.76307.05yThis spring is the last water when going up this drainage
69
Creek100.716.04314.81y
Small creek. Downstream, the creek is flowing throughout the majority of the canyon. Water is not an issue here in this canyon. If no water here, just keep heading down. much more water in the lower canyon
70
Jefferson Creek106.759.62320.85y
There was a little water flowing over the road here in late June 2020. This is the last water when walking into Carvers. Water can be found upstream throuhout musch of the canyon
71

Cravers to AustinSection Start - Carvers0.009.65330.47y
74
South Twin River9.656.45340.12y
Plenty o' water here, it's a flowing river. There is water upstream to about mile 16.1 for this section, and there are many creek corssings where you will get your feet wet
75
Upper South Twin River16.1012.40346.57y
If heading up Hill, approximate location of last water. Water can be found downstream all the way to the trailhead. There is a possibility of snowmelt along the crest (only found 13 miles north from here in 2020), otherwise it's 17 miles to the next semi-reliable water source.
76
Snow Melt28.505.10358.97y
There was snow here June 26th 2020, and this was somewhat of a low snow year. There was not much snow to be found along the rest of the ridgeline. Take advantage of this snow and melt some for drinking water. You can also follow Last Chance Creek downhill a ways and see if water can be found there.
77
Marysville Spring33.603.15364.07yWater here in 2020. It's a grassy green meadow, nothing deep but enough to work with. Cow shit nearby.

92
Kingston Creek67.006.95397.47y
Solid reliable creek. Leaving Groves Lake, keep an eye on the stream along side the road. If the stream is still flowing here, which it almost definitely will be, get your water here before heading up to the crest again
93
Snow Melt73.956.70404.42n
Should be enough snow up here to collect melt water. Snow visible on satellite here that is not present in the southern Toiyabes.
94
Birch Creek80.657.20411.12y
Good size creek observed farther upstream in late June 2020. This area is also heavily grazed by sheep, so the water may not be the best. It had an awful stench to it and I chose to pass. But, there is water if you are desperate
95
