2 | How do you sign up for AP Span Lang & Culture 1&2? | Schedule | Spanish Immersion students will receive Spanish placement based on their AAPL scores. If a student is recommend for AP Spanish Lang & Culture, the student should write that on their scheduling form and select it in PowerSchool. |
3 | My student will be absent when students enter their schedule requests. What do we do? | Timeline | Students can turn their scheduling forms in to the junior high counseling office and we will make sure that their requests are entered. Scheduling is NOT first-come, first-served, so there is no need to worry about an absence! |
4 | Can I wait until 10th grade to take PE 1&2 ? | Schedule | Yes, PE 1&2 can be taken in 10th grade if a student does not have room in 9th grade to fit it in. (An example would be a student wanting to continue their world language and is also in a music.) The only other option to fit both classes in 9th grade and PE 1&2 would be to take a zero hour. |
5 | Can my student waive PE1 & PE2? | Schedule | Yes. If a student (over the course of high school) takes an additional credit of English, math, science, or world language, they would be able to waive PE 1 and/or 2. |
6 | Is Driver's Training offered at school? | Schedule | JIA offers driver's training through their Tech & Safety Applications (TSA) class. Students would follow the online class sign up directions for the class. Please note that students who take TSA do need to take an additional online class to allow for the two-hour requirement for the Century Driving portion of driver's training. |
