Glendale Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of an assault involving a knife that had just occurred in the 3700 block of Honolulu Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a victim who had sustained injuries consistent with an assault involving a knife. The adult male suspect, who was a neighbor of the victim, then exited a nearby residence armed with a knife. When confronted by officers, the person fled on foot. Officers pursued the person on foot for a short distance. During the pursuit, the suspect turned and advanced toward the pursuing officers while still armed with the knife. An officer-involved shooting subsequently occurred.

Carbon County Sheriff Alex Bakken said the incident began when dispatchers received a report of a man with a gun in Baggs. The man opened fire on the first responding deputy, striking him several times, Bakken said. The man drove away in a small truck, leading other deputies and Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit north on Wyoming Highway 789. The man fired at law enforcement again before driving off the highway and coming to a stop, according to the sheriff’s office release. He was shot and killed.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery around 4:15 a.m. Friday in the 5800 block of Manchester Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. When they got to the location, a cab driver told them the suspect threatened him with a gun. After directing officers to the man's vehicle, a chase soon ensued, during which the man opened fire on pursuing officers. The chase ended on the northbound 405, according to LAPD Lt. Mike Bland. The man stopped along the center divider near Howard Hughes Parkway and exited the vehicle with a handgun in his possession, Bland said. The man did not obey commands and was shot, according to the lieutenant.

An officer from PPD was in the roadway, near the department parking lot after his shift, when he observed a male subject acting erratically on the sidewalk in the 200 block of West 3rd. St., in Pittsburg. Preliminary information indicates when the officer approached the man, near the northwest corner of the PPD property on 3rd St, he removed his clothes, and began running alongside the officer’s patrol car. The officer attempted to detain the man, later identified as Jalen Dior Green, 29, of Pittsburg. Green resisted and a physical fight ensued. The officer deployed a Taser, but it did not subdue him. During the struggle, Green grabbed the PPD officer’s flashlight and struck him with it in the head. The violent altercation continued as another PPD officer approached to attempt to help. During the struggle Green wrestled with the officer and items came off the officer’s belt. Green was able to pick up the flashlight from the ground and raised it toward the PPD officer. The officer fired multiple times, striking Green.

A deputy tried to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of FM 2004 and This Way in Lake Jackson. They said the driver, later identified as Mendoza Jr., didn't stop and instead led the deputy on a chase that lasted about 1.5 miles. The chase ended when Mendoza Jr. pulled into a garage at his father's house on Indian Warrior Trail. The deputy got out to confront Mendoza Jr. and ended up opening fire. Mendoza Jr. was shot and taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

An Oak Park officer pulled a black SUV over about 9:10 p.m. near Harrison Street and Austin Boulevard, police said. The driver, who the medical examiner later identified as 38-year-old Oak Park man Christian Wallace, was the only person in the car. Shortly before 8 a.m., KTLA was told that officers responding to the location got into an altercation with someone authorities labeled as a “suspect,” and that the shooting occurred following the altercation. Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a man armed with a knife in the 800 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard. BSO deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Authorities said the person retreated into an apartment and barricaded himself inside. As a precaution, surrounding apartments were evacuated. BSO’s K-9, SWAT and Violent Crimes units also responded, authorities confirmed. Deputies said they spent several hours attempting to communicate with the person and persuade him to surrender peacefully. A spokesperson for New Mexico State Police says officers received a 911 call around 12:15 p.m. about a man who had fired at someone at 23 Peralta Place in Veguita. According to police, NMSP officers and Socorro County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the location and asked the man to walk toward them. The man did not obey the command and walked toward his home. Police say that after obtaining search and arrest warrants, officers attempted to get the man to comply with authorities. He eventually began walking toward officers with a gun in his possession. According to police, the man was asked once again to drop the gun. At some point, officers fired at the man and struck him with at least one gunshot. The man did not survive from his injuries.

Officers responded to a report of a person brandishing a weapon shortly after 3:40 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of East Palm Canyon Drive, according to the Palm Springs Police Department. Officers at the scene attempted to communicate with the suspect, police said. A department store employee contacted the Cobb County Police Department to report a shoplifting incident at Town Center Mall in Kennesaw. As CCPD officers arrived on scene, they observed a man matching the description provided by the caller, later identified as Eatmon, walking across the mall parking lot. When officers attempted to make contact with Eatmon, he ran away from the officers. An officer gave verbal commands for Eatmon to stop running, but Eatmon refused to comply. Indiana State Police said deputies from the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance call around 1 p.m. Monday on the 600 block of Edgewood Drive in Danville. According to Clearwater police Chief Eric Gandy, a woman who was home alone reported that an unknown man entered her home with a knife. Gandy said the suspect entered the garage through a partially open door and assaulted the victim. The 62-year-old victim fought off the attacker, escaped, and ran to a neighbor’s house, where she called 911. Pinellas County deputies responded and saw the garage door closed, leading them to believe the suspect was still inside. Deputies announced their presence and demanded that anyone inside surrender, to which there was no response. They eventually breached a sliding glass door and sent a drone inside the home “to further attempt to mitigate the situation.” There was again no response, Gandy said. Deputies then made their way inside the home and moved through the laundry room towards the garage. As they opened the garage door, the person allegedly brandished a flashlight in one hand and a firearm in the other. “He raised the firearm, shouted some expletives at the deputies, they opened fire, and he was pronounced deceased about 15 minutes later,” Chief Gandy said.

Police say Newman approached a truck stuck in a ditch near Massard Road and suspected the driver, 27-year-old Joshua Keller, was under the influence of alcohol. After a five to 10-minute interaction, investigators say Keller tried to get back into the truck and leave. Police say a brief altercation took place while Officer Newman tried to stop him. During that struggle, Newman was shot once in the neck. Investigators say Newman fired at the truck as he fell to the ground. Another officer also fired at the fleeing vehicle before giving Newman life-saving aid. Other officers chased Keller at speeds topping 90 mph until the pursuit ended in a crash on Interstate 540 at the Grand Avenue exit. Police say Keller was fatally shot after the crash.
