Animation and Digital Art Club
Patricia Liucartooneer10@gmail.comNo Join this club for a chance to learn how to animate and draw with the software Clip Studio Paint! There will be options to animate a short film, gif, or animated sticker. You can also do digital art, such as a comic, drawing, or webtoon. I will teach how to use the software as well as certain techniques! You will need a iPad or computer, as well as a stylus for drawing. If you can't buy a stylus, then I can teach you how to make a DIY one. Club members can collab for animations or comics! Suzanne Rowell Suzanne Rowell

Every Wednesday after school at 3:05-4:00
Yes. If they don't have a stylus I highly recommend the club members to buy one. Most are very cheap and can be bought quickly off of Amazon. If they can't, I have DIY alternatives. We will be using the free trial for Clip Studio Paint, which only permits for 3 months(but if we use different accounts that's a whole other story :>). After they can subscribe to the program if they wish to continue, which requires money.
I noticed there aren't many art clubs in SRVHS. So what better than to make one? Virtual art is getting more popular these days, and I would love to teach others how to use it. Clip Studio Paint is a very advanced software but can do so many more things than others. You can create an animated film, comic, or just drawing on there! Even I haven't figured it all out just yet! I'm still discovering new commands and controls on there. People who love art can get the chance to draw on a screen! It's much easier to undo and control your canvas than traditional art.
In the first three months, everyone will be on the free trial, and I will teach techniques and how to use the software. Everyone will learn how to make a drawing on there and then can choose between making a comic/webtoon, or animation. If lots of people choose an animation I'm thinking of a project where the club members all collab to make one full video. Then they can upload to Social Media like Youtube! After the three-month period, members can choose to start the subscription(and which pay), or make another account and do another free trial(which is wrong but it works...).

Second week of the month on Friday
No
We hope to unite people virtually and inform people of the accomplishments/events of the performing arts. We aim to show people that even through our virtual screens the arts are still creating and developing their craft. Mia and I want to be in charge of the Arts Representation Team because we believe that we have the ideas and energy to give the arts the representation they deserve. We have noticed that students on campus can be ill-informed of events that the Preforming Arts are putting on and we aim to get a higher student involvement.
Our main goal is to create a monthly video showcasing all that the arts have done in that month. For example, our August video we will be discussing what the 4 Preforming Arts are working on as well as introducing the new choir teacher. We are also discussing how artists are adapting to virtual rehearsals. Starting in September we will also be recognizing artists of the month. Our other goal would be to put on a showcase of all the arts near the end of the year with the intention of generating interest from the middle school students or from current SRV students. Overall, we hope to bring the ARTs together to support and recognize each other.

I ran this club last year and I think that it was a successful club that made an impact on those who participated. I would like to continue that this year in anyway possible. Being in charge of this club allows me to run something that I believe is important to both the special needs students and those who helped out. Although we are going to face some issues this year due to distance learning, I look forward to the challenge of working out a way to run our club.
We would start out in zoom calls that would serve as meetings to plan for what we will do. I would like to hear the inputs of other members on what they believe would be good ideas for things to do online. Hopefully we will eventually be able to return to in person and are able to schedule times in the gym, on the field, or in the yoga room.

Our club involves money. We would need money to create a pollinator garden. To earn this money we would have fundraisers and sell bee themed jewelry.
In this difficult time, it's hard to feel connected to school, especially with distance learning. By starting this club, it would give people a chance to connect to others and learn about one of the most important pollinators. Bees are crucial to the ecosystem and are responsible for spreading pollen which is a critical part of the germination process. By working together to help save the bees, our club would connect with other students and make an environmental impact.
Each meeting, we would discuss how bees are important to our ecosystem and environment. We would also work towards our goal of creating a pollinator garden ar SRV. Additionally, we would come up with ways to earn money to put towards the garden or donate to the Lindsay Wildlife Center.

Yes, we encourage members to donate to organizations that support racial justice such as the Equal Justice Initiative and Dream Defenders. ( https://eji.org/ , https://dreamdefenders.org/ )
I am very passionate about issues pertaining to the black community, and I feel the need to do this to provide a safe space for SRV's black students. I want this group to succeed and to educate other students and faculty at the school, furthering conversations about race we seldom have given the stark underrepresentation of black students at SRV. Despite being my senior year, I want SRV’s BSU to continue on after I graduate.
Daily discussions on a given topic with the possibility of presentations and guest speakers. I’ve been talking to JJ Johnson, an incoming junior, about taking over next year so that this can continue.

First Thursday of Every month (or twice a month, depends on the month)
Yes, we get money from BC2M headquarters and use it for our fundraisers. This year I am not sure if we'll be using the money.
I want to be in charge of a club at San Ramon Valley because I love getting involved in the community. This year especially I think it is very important for our students to be able to interact with others outside the classroom and get involved in the community. I am very passionate about mental health and this club is a great way to spread awareness about mental health when the topic is not touched on that much in day to day life. With online school, I think it is more important than ever to be able to have social connection, so hopefully bc2m will be a great outlook for those looking for interaction with their peers.
-Fundraisers (either virtually or just having a mental health day every now and then)
-Possibly access zoom calls to get more people involved in the club
-Monthly zoom calls to talk about different branches of mental health

I would like to be in charge of a club at SRV because I wanna share my interest with an entire community that I know also share the same interests as I do. Building a community is extremely important especially in the performing arts world, especially considering the fact that a lot of theatre works rarely receives any recognition. By sparking this club into SRV with my ideas and organization, I believe that SRV may find a new community worth sharing amazing interests.
Introducing conversations and discussions on a single Broadway show each club week, analyzing elements in theatrical works, script readings, creating polls and votes towards the topic of Broadway and professional theatre

I was able to take summer college courses and had a really great experience learning about business and entrepreneurship. I even got the opportunity to work on a startup company. I think it would be a great idea to bring some of these experiences to SRV and get students excited about a future in business. I think now more than ever we need to create communities and avenues of communication. I have had many leadership experiences in the past and think I am more than capable of this responsibility.
The first few meeting will be for introduction, then pitches of potential ideas, followed by formation of groups. From then on, groups will work together to create a mock company or startup and work on creating a business model canvas and finding approach to market.

We want to be in charge of a club at San Ramon to improve our leadership skills and encourage SRV students to learn necessary life skills beyond the academic basics. We want to create a platform to help students gain experience and provide advice for how to succeed after high school. Our goal is to present students with information and resources about business and other important life skill topics.
With the help of our advisor, we will host 30-minute Zoom meetings twice a month, each with a different focus. We will occasionally have guest speakers and utilize interactive videos, Kahoots, and other games. There will be no specific attendance requirements to be considered "members,” however there will be a monthly raffle to reward consistent attendees. We will also have a website with basic information about our club, summaries of past and upcoming events, and a recurring Zoom link. Overall, we hope to provide an easy way for interested students to gain knowledge that will help them become self-sufficient adults.

We want to make this club fun and have guest speakers and games that will engage students.
Our year long plan will be to touch on different segments of business throughout the year. These will include but not be limited to stocks, new business ideas, finance, and explore different career paths within business. This will be a fun club and will get classmates fired up to learn more about the business world and how they fit in.

There are fundraising activities that Colors for Coats will host but there is no money needed to enter the club.
We would like to be in charge of a club at SRV because we think that medical disparities throughout the healthcare system is an important topic, We feel that students at our school would advocate for this greatly. We found Colors for Coats on social media and thought that it should be brought to SRV; Lexi Wetmore and I thought were the best people to be the leaders of this important club. Too often important topics such as child obesity are passed over and we feel that raising awareness is essential for our community.

In general, we represent good leadership qualities. We have worked with the Comrades over the past three years, and we want to further our relationship with them and allow others the opportunity to build these connections as well. We want the Comrades to be given the chance to interact with other students at SRV, and further create a stronger community at our school.
Our plan is to do various activities during our meetings with the Comrades. This year our plan is a little different than years past because everything is online. However, we have created a weekly system where each month we go through a rotation of different activities to keep the Comrades engaged. One week would be a coloring activity, another week would be a sing a long, the third week would be a surprise activity (gardening, movie, etc.), and the last week would be a dance party.

there is a student fee at the beginning of each semester
I want to be in charge of CSF because I want to help recognize how much students at our school work. It has become our high school culture to take the hardest classes and alway volunteer, and those who do engage in this consider in the norm. However, the rigorous courses and service-oriented mindset many students hold is not normal and is something to be praised. I want to be in charge of CSF so that students feel like their actions are recognized.
Luckily, there is not much that goes into this club. The only change we have to make is make our community service requirement attainable for everyone. We will count activities such as writing letters to senior centers and other activities like that. We will meet once a month to go over some news and upcoming events via zoom.

I want to be in charge of a club at SRV because it is an awesome way to get involved with the school. I love how I get to meet students in all different grades. Along with that it is so much fun to see how much the kids love to dance with the volunteers. This is our 4th year having this club at SRV and I have loved every second of it. Along with that, it is a great way to feel connected with others even through distanced learning.
We host weekly zoom meetings for our club helping the kids dance and it is a blast. Hoping to have an in person performance once it is safe to do so!

We will meet twice a week, the first time would be on a Monday on Zoom and the second time would be the next day on Tuesday. On the Monday we would discuss the course we would like to go play the next day and give the members a run down of the plan we would make (we would also send out a email to everyone just in case someone couldn't make the meeting). On Tuesday we would all meet up at the course and go out and play while following social distancing.
No our club does not involve money, the courses we go to will be free to play and if anyone does not have a disc, they will be sanitized and given to use for the day
I would like to be in charge of a club at SRV because I would like to get the sport of Disc Golf out there. It has been a sport gaining little attention with a small community and I feel that if we got this club to run we could spread the word and expand the amount of people that play. Also this would be a nice opportunity to find new people and friends to play with around SRV.
Our year long plan is to keep our twice a meeting week going for the rest of the school year and maybe throughout the next summer as well, we can play though winter because the weather doesn't get to cold.

We joined the club last year as Juniors and we really liked the idea of it. Towards the end of the year we started getting really excited about coming up with ideas for how to make it better. We like the E2 club very much and feel that we can make it more fun and engaging for our peers. Our goal is to expand the club's reach and bring more awareness of environmental issues to SRV's students.
We plan to take advantage of every meeting by informing club members about a current environmental issue or an update on a previous one. We plan to educate people about simple things they can do in their everyday lives in order to have a better impact on the Earth. We will also encourage our peers to participate in community service activities that have to do with the topic of that meeting.

Field Hockey ClubSamrina Khansamrina.yasmink7@gmail.comNoField Hockey Club will be a group for students learn a new sport: Field Hockey! Field hockey is not very big in California, but this is the perfect opportunity to not only grow the sport on the west coast, but also to expose students to a sport that anyone can love and be great at. In this club, videos and demonstrations of field hockey will be displayed along with teaching students about the sport through rules and visuals. Students in the club can learn different hockey skills and drills. Field hockey is a wonderful hobby for teens because it doesn’t require physical fitness and strength as much as it requires effort and hard work. We plan to start more school field hockey clubs in our district and hope to play games with other school clubs when it is safe to interact with people. With USA Field Hockey, we can provide field hockey equipment for students in the club; https://www.teamusa.org/usa-field-hockey/programs/fundamental-field-hockeySami Libbyslibby@srvusd.net

The first Tuesday of every month during lunch!
Later on in the year, we may plan on collecting donations or doing a bake sale to raise money for extra field hockey equipment. Aside from that, Field Hockey Club doesn’t involve money.
I want to be in charge of a club at SRV because I want to build a community with students to give them a passion. I have been playing field hockey for 5 years and when I first started, I instantly loved it because it was an amazing activity for me to get positivity out of. Many students in high school struggle with finding what subjects they like, what sports they want to play, or what majors they are interested in. I know field hockey can become a big interest for so many kids who feel like they don’t fit in with other crowds. With this club, it’s about more than just field hockey. It is about creating a team, learning how to work with others, and growing in an environment with surrounding peers. Field hockey builds many important teamwork skills and trust bonds in a club or team. I want to start this club this year as an opportunity to give my peers something to look forward to and as an uplifting way to have fun.
My goal by the end of this year is to have a decent sized field hockey club that can interact with field hockey clubs at other schools. I want my club to be able to have practices and games with different schools. By the end of this year, I hope to have given students a new passion and help kids find a sport that they are great at. As a long-term goal, I want to be able to grow enough from the club to start a real field hockey team at SRV. It may not happen this year, especially with the pandemic, but eventually I hope field hockey can be a real team sport open to all students!

No, I will need no money for this club. When we explain the stock market, we will be using paper money investing on brokers that allow this such as investopedia, best brokers, etc. The paper money allows the students to play the real stock market and understand t\rends and indicators without the fear of using real money.
My name is Tyler Casados and I’m an incoming junior at San Ramon Valley High school. I want to start an investment club at the school, I was looking and I couldn’t find a club that taught financial responsibility so I would like to create one. This club would be focused on the topics real estate (Wholesale and investments), stock market, passive income, retirement (Roth IRA), explanation of bank accounts (checking, saving etc…), and overall the basics of financial responsibility. I think it's very critical that kids in high school start learning these basics early including me. I have educated myself to be of help for these kids and I feel that having discussions on these topics can help a lot of people.
My year long plan would be to build a community of students who find an interest in learning of financial stability and all its aspects, as I've explained earlier. I am very passionate about this work and I feel that this club can help the students of San Ramon tremendously. Now for my goals towards this club. This club would have elected officials running all the topics I have already explained (me being one of them). I already have real estate agents that are willing to pitch in and visit these meetings to answer and explain questions. This club at the end of the year will have covered all of the topics and then drift on to being a community of students (all of common knowledge now) discussing problems plauging today and how we can solve them. We would also discuss daily trends and stock market since it is always changing. This club would not run out of things to do.

The first two meeting we will work on building the club, setting goals and creating awareness and coming up with creative ways to hold food drive that will encourage people to donate.(with Covid 19 rules) We'll work towards our first Food Drive goal for November and December. We hope to hold drives each month. Also once it is safe to help in person, members can help give out food and stock shelves at Monument Crisis Center.

I have been a Gsa officer for several years now I was a secretary in my sophomore year and president in my junior and then now senior years I appreciate giving kids a place to talk openly about things and we confuse them or they don’t know about or they just don’t get a chance to talk about at home. I have a fair amount of knowledge in the area and knowing the people in Gsa for a while and knowing my friends who’ve been in Gsa for a while I think it’s a very helpful institution and I like to help to sort of run it and keep it maintained so that more kids can find it if they need it.
our basic plan involves presentations discussions and just in general a safe place to be we occasionally have guest speakers and topics and we a lot of the time even when we’re not planning a discussion can open it up whenever somebody wants to talk about something in particular

I want to be in charge of GirlUp at my school because I want to lead my peers in the spread of education on impoverished women across the globe and what we can do to help. After two previous successful years of GirlUp, I am confident that this year can be the same if not even better. I want to work with my club-mates to create more ways of publicizing our ideas through Social Media.
This year we are planning on running multiple drives to generate funds to donate to GirlUp. We plan on discussing social issues we are most passionate about and hosting monthly meetings via Zoom. Educating our community on the need to support women in need is key.

We want to be in charge of a club at SRV to help bring people together. Clubs are normally know for how social they are and we would love to bring exercise into it. During this time new students at SRV do not know each other and our club is a way for them to meet new people or just hang out with people you know. Also since sports have be pushed back and may not happening this is a great way for students to get exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
We would meet ideally twice a month and go on a hike once a month in the local areas.

No
I would love to start a Hispanic Club at SRV to spread awareness of cultures and backgrounds of countries of South America. By focusing on individual countries, I believe students will become more open minded and open to learning about new cultures. I know this club is a good idea because it would create a community of students that can share a passion for discovering new countries. It’s important to learn abotu hispanics because there are a large percentage in California and in the United States.
The First Monday will start with learning about the background. I will set up a presentation teaching students about the basic background. Then I would teach them about the culture. The second meeting, I will have a speaker from the country come to talk about their background. They will discuss their culture, and how it has impacted/helped them through their lives. This speaker will also conclude with a Q&A session. The last meeting we will debrief and summarize what we have been learning about in the past 2 weeks. With a Kahoot, all the members will be tested on their knowledge of counties’ cultural backgrounds. The top three winners will win mini prizes every month.

We would talk to the members of the club and if everyone wants to get a club t - shirt, then we would collect dues so we could pay to make the t - shirts for everyone in the club.
I joined the Interact Club my freshman year and fell in love with this club. My friends and I participated in every event they held and I made so many new friends that I would have never met unless I joined this amazing club. Unfortunately, the Interact Club fell apart my sophomore year, due to the president falling ill and missing school. I want to be the president of the Interact Club because the Interact Club values align with my own personal values. Ever since middle school, I have been participating in many volunteering events through the town of Danville and my church. I have packed Christmas Food Boxes to give to the local homeless shelters, I have packed more than 50,000 meals with my church to give to struggling families in Africa, and I have recycled and made new crayons to give to children who are staying in hospitals that are safe for them to use and draw with. I used to do all these volunteering events by myself. But, ever since I found the Interact Club, I have found many like - minded people, many from other schools as well, who like to volunteer and help out their community as much as me. I want to be the president of the Interact Club to get lots of people excited and looking forward to helping out their community, but also having fun while doing it by volunteering with their friends and making new friends as well.
My club officers and I still have to sit down and fully discuss our year - long plan, but we are thinking our members can still participate in our club virtually and safely from their own homes. We are thinking of holding video calls with elderly people who aren't able to see nor talk to anyone right now because of Covid and we are also thinking of having a Canned Food Drive once a month to collect food for people in need during this difficult time.

We are invested the providing the best updates about our community and educating the student body not only about local affairs but national and global news as well. It is the responsibility of the student to accurately rely information in times of widespread misinformation. Unfortunately, San Ramon Valley High has not had a thriving journalism program these past few years and we seek to revive the WolfPrint and once again offer student-produced articles. We both care deeply about SRV and by observing other excellent schools such as Dougherty and Monte Vista, both of whom have superb and celebrated journalism programs that we hope to emulate. As upperclassmen, we have both spent several years at SRV and have developed a understanding and appreciation of our school spirit. In order to further that, it is only in true Wolf Pride that we continue SRV's momentarily halted legacy of journalistic excellence.

Yes, my club involves money because we will be fundraising.
I would like to be in charge of this club because I have a close connection with ME to WE and have been involved with them for the past two and half years; I've been to their summer camp twice and I went on the volunteer trip to Ecuador in 7th grade. For the past year I have been working to raise money for the classroom in Kenya and I think having this club would be super helpful to complete this goal; I am $6,000 towards my $10,000 goal to get this classroom funded. In addition, I think having this club would be a great way to meet new people with similar interests for giving back to others and making a difference in our world during this difficult time.
I would like to meet every two weeks at the beginning of the year to plan our fundraising schedule. Once we have a basis of what our plans and ideas are for fundraisers, we can hopefully move to meet once a month. I'd like to at least four fundraisers throughout the year with the goal of raising between $1,500-$2,000.

Meaningful Teens ClubIsabella Capelli & Ashley McDonnellisabellacapelli30@gmail.comNoMeaningful Teens (https://www.meaningfulteens.org/) is a virtual volunteering program for volunteers aged 14 and above. MT is looking for high school students to teach weekly literacy to low-income children and immigrants in Oakland, Concord and all the United States (mostly grades K-6) individually over Zoom breakout rooms. To provide support, we have retired, certified teachers moving across breakout rooms to assist in the learning process. Since Covid started, over 275 teen volunteers have tutored 175 children who reside in multiple states across the country. We want to bring this club to SRV to encourage more students to get involved and help support the education of less fortunate students across the world. Señora Purcellmpurcell@srvusd.net

I want to be in charge of a club at SRV, because I want to bring the community together to do something beneficial. Meaningful Teens is an organization that I started during COVID and it has grown exponentially over the past few months. My goal with this club is to attract more volunteers to continue expanding and make this a 'meaningful' experience for both the volunteers and our students.
A general idea would be taking the first few months to introduce the different projects we have and encourage everybody to sign up. Then, once they have been volunteering, we can have monthly meetings where we can have some fun activities and everyone can share how the student they tutor is doing and give each other some feedback. It would be a great community building exercise for Meaningful Teens, because we have volunteers from SRV already but this provides them a way to connect.

Model United Nations ClubAshkon Mogharei, Thibaut StussiMoghareiashkon@gmail.comYesIn this club, we will learn about the duties and procedures of the United Nations and participate in Model United Nations Conferences that test our skills as amateur diplomats. Jeffery Davisjdavis1@srvusd.net
https://srvusd-net.zoom.us/j/98625539650
Saturday, Weekly
The club does involve money, the conferences that the club members attend all require an admission cost per delegate and sometimes per school.
The price varies depending on the specific conference and it’s size, but will generally be lower than previous years due to the virtual setting.
We want to lead this club because we are deeply engaged in the international problems that loom over the globe and cause unnecessary suffering. I’ve been involved in Model UN for 2 years now and I’ve never had such an enjoyable experience talking about major political issues and then actually reaching a viable solution through compromise. I want to provide that experience to other students, educate them on important geopolitical issues, and help them develop their public speaking skills.
The year-long plan for the club revolves around attending conferences through both semesters. The conferences will almost all be virtual and the difficulty of the conferences will gradually increase throughout the year as we attend larger and more competitive events. This escalation in difficulty will encourage the club members to improve their skills and prepare stronger, clearer solutions to address their committee’s topics.

Both of us have been involved in school Band/Orchestra for years and have made some of our best friends through music. We are passionate about music, but more than that, we want to encourage younger students to continue playing in school Band/Orchestra and inspire them to pursue their instruments to the next level. Especially in the age of COVID where music classes are moved online, we are committed to keeping the instrumental music program in our district strong. That's why we want to connect high school mentors with younger students, so students that may be missing the one-on-one connections that come with rehearsing in person can take their technique to the next level.
We have currently sent out an FAQ sheet with a music mentor interest form. We will be hosting training sessions for mentors in January and students and mentors will begin meeting for weekly lessons not long afterwards. Once we connect mentors and mentees, they will exchange contact information and communicate individually. We will host meetings among club leadership to see what needs to be fixed as the semester progresses.

I want to be in charge of a club at SRV because I'm a responsible, sincere, humble student. I can easily work well with others and know how to draw in a crowd. My humbleness allows me to understand everyone's ideas and best engage everyone. I use google sheets for my personal project so I'm very organized. In my buddism activities often we have a youth discussion that I often facilitate and it is very successful. Now I want to expand the practice to the school as I think it can greatly help the community.
My idea for my year long plan is to gather a group of people where I quickly lecture about a certain topic for 5 minutes and then I will incorporate interactive activities like Quizlet, Kahoot, Quizit, Peardeck to reinforce the teachings and entertain the audience. Members will then hold discussions where we talk about our interpretations of the lesson. Later I will incorporate projects such as creating a campaign on how Nichiren Buddhism helps you by any medium like artwork, video, computer program or an essay if the participants choose. Another project will be the top ten most influential Buddhist figures, where participants will create a slideshow. More projects are there if members choose to participate.

We also think that discussion provides a unique opportunity to get different perspectives which makes the process of learning philosophy more engaging.
The year-long plan for the club revolves around educating and discussing with our members many interesting and provocative topics in philosophy. We will discuss many important writers who contributed to Western and Eastern philosophy. We also plan to debate important, timeless philosophical questions concerning ethics, epistemology, political philosophy, aesthetics, and metaphysics. We will often connect philosophy to current issues and debates so contextualize philosophy’s still prominent impact on the world.

I want to be in charge of a club at San Ramon Valley because I love getting involved in the community. This year especially I think it is very important for our students to be able to interact with others outside the classroom and get involved in the community. I am very passionate about reading and I think this club is a great way for students to blend their passions with volunteer work. With online school, I think that it is super important that students are able to get involved with extracurricular activities in the community.
-Book Drive
-Virtual Volunteering (still up in the air, but I have reached out to different organizations and possibly might stay local on this)
-Possibly an old computer book drive (I was thinking that with changes and not being able to read in person, we could give away old/used computers and repurpose them to give to families in need)

Specifically, materials will consist of electronics and model building parts.Should we go back to school in the spring, we will be using money to purchase parts for the robot.
As a 3-year veteran of the SRVHS Robotics Club, I would like to continue to give the opportunity for students of SRV and other schools to find their interest in STEM. I would like to give back to the SRV community by creating a space for students to make new friends and find new interests. Additionally, with this year in particular, I know that the robotics team has trained people in the skill set required to help people struggling during this pandemic.
Throughout the year, we will be holding virtual workshops for the community to get them exposed to STEM. Additionally, we will be continuing our Danville Fighting COVID-19 initiative. I want to be in charge of a club at SRV because I think it is a great way to get involved more at school. Rowing is a huge part of my teammates and I's lives and we know how impactful it could be to someone else. Commonly in rowing, people hear a lot about how difficult it is and are sometimes interested, but they don't have the opportunity to learn and ask questions about it. This gives them the perfect opportunity to ask any questions then want and get real, honest feedback. Also, through the pandemic right now, many teams can't practice, but my team has been able to go out on the water in singles (one person boats). This provides excellent cross training for other contact sports that aren't currently practicing. Last year, we had club meetings and we had a great turn out and a few people even added themselves to the emailing list. We were able to get a few people out to the boathouse to experience practices with the team. It was a super cool experience and it would be great to see it happen again this year.
We plan on having monthly meetings where we will show videos of rowing and allow people to ask the current rowers on the team questions. We also plan on having Q&A opportunities for anyone to ask questions.

San Ramon Valley Mountain Bike ClubAriana Milellisr.amilelli@students.srvusd.netYesMountain biking is a fun, lifelong sport for all levels of fitness and skill. SRVMTB doesn't have try-outs or cuts, so everyone is welcome to join. We ride 3 times a week from January through May. Riders who regularly participate can expect to see vast improvements in fitness and skill over the season. An experienced coach will lead each ride group and teach skills along the way. Racing is an optional activity that many of our riders enjoy for the challenge and for the fun social atmosphere.Eric Melvinemelvin@srvhs.org

Yes, we are collecting money to give to operation smile to help kids with cleft lip.
We would like to be able to help kids be able to have the surgeries so they can do everyday things. We want to be able to help others when we get the chance. We will be partnering with operation smile. They are an organization that collects money to provide the surgeries for the kids.
Our year long plan is to collect as much money as we can to donate to operation smile. Our plan for this online school year is to have people order things online from us and we will drop it off in a safe and sanitized way. So we are still able to collect donations without bake sales.

It involves money in that the participants for the competition have to pay a fee to enter the competition.
Being in charge of a club will give me a very helping experience by developing my leadership skills as well as organization and time management skills. Also, I want to start this club to share my interests and take my interests a step further by forming a team, studying and preparing with other students, and eventually going to compete in various competitions. In doing so, I will be able to make raise popularity for general interest in the myriad of topics in science at SRVHS.
We will start out with shorter meeting around 30-45 minutes every 2 to 3 weeks to discuss topic and as the competition nears we will have more meetings of greater length.

SRV Girls' SkateNatalie Busselennbusselen@gmail.comNoA place for skateboarders of all levels to meet up, help each other learn tricks, give advice, and have fun! Many girls want to learn to skate, but are too nervous to go to the skate park alone. In this club, we can go in groups and help each other improve! All genders and identities are welcome, but this club is mostly geared towards girls. Skateboards not provided. This club is not for longboarders, pennyboarders, and rollerskaters, but they're welcome to come learn to skate on a skateboard!Janet Willfordjwillford@srvusd.net

Every Sunday, unless weather doesn't permit and/or is specified otherwise for that week.
Nope! Everyone brings their own skateboard. Also, if someone gets injured, I do not take responsibility for that, so members will sign waivers during our first meeting.
I want to be in charge of the first ever Girls' Skate Club at SRV because I believe that skating can help people live up to their full potential and gain confidence. I've had some struggle with mental health, and skateboarding may have saved me. The companionship I've experienced with other skaters is unforgettable, and I want everyone to experience it. Skating is great exercise, a lot of fun, and something that a lot of people take interest in. It also helps build women up, and skaters are very encouraging, so members will feel comfortable in the skate environment.
I would plan weekly skate park trips to varying nearby skate parks such as the San Ramon skatepark and Emerald Glen. Many of these trips will take place on weekends, but may be scheduled to a different day if it conflicts with too many people's schedules. Carpools are encouraged if families feel comfortable with that. I will bring snacks when we skate. When it starts to get colder and wetter, we'll focus more on street tricks such as ollies and kickflips, which can be practiced in a garage/street. If the weather is unappealing to several members, a skate trip can be rescheduled or cancelled. Skate trips will be between 2 and 5 hours. Helmets are encouraged but not mandatory, and members must be ready to skate out of their comfort zone. If the group gets along, we can schedule weekly video calls in addition to skate trips.

I’d like to start this club at SRV because I love math. I want to find other people who share that passion and do something cooperative, so I think that it would be really fun to participate in team math competitions.
This year is strange because everything is virtual, but I know of one competition in the fall and one in the spring. I was thinking we’d meet weekly to prepare for competitions.

Being in charge of a club at SRV, not only improves leadership skills, but would also be a great learning experience. We are able to make new friends, it's a great way to be able to socialize with our peers online given the circumstances, and be able to talk about our sport. There are a few figure skaters at SRV that we have been wanting to meet and become friends with. We also think it would be a great opportunity to eventually represent the school in competitions when we are able to compete again and would love to be able to coordinate our sport with one that isn't at SRV.
We will meet on every last Wednesday of the month during student support and for now, because we're still in quarantine, will practice our off ice jumps, spins, technique, and stretches in hopes of being able to compete when we are able/ allowed.

STEM ClubKendall Hallsrvhsstem@gmail.comYesSTEM Club aims to bring hands-on-science enrichment activities to our sister school Peres Elementary. We plan and present labs to the 5th / 6th grade students on a wide variety of topics like physics, ecosystems, and others. Thursday (during lunch)
We have a carry over budget for lab materials and will do additional fundraising this year. Due to COVID we are planning to do "labs in a bag" to deliver to Peres.
I have been an officer of STEM Club since freshman year and was Co-President last year. I have really enjoyed presenting these experiments to the students at Peres and want to continue this year. I feel like this year with COVID Peres students may be at risk for falling behind because they might not have access to a lot of the support that we have here at SRV and I'd love to provide activities to help them stay engaged.
In previous years, STEM Club has travelled to Peres to do hands on experiments with one to two fifth grade classes. With COVID-19, we have decided to create "science labs in a bag" to hand out to the sixth grade class. I have been emailing with the Peres middle school leadership advisor, Ms. Breakfield about the specific details of creating and distributing these experiments. We are planning on doing bags for their units of microbiomes and metabolism. We plan on holding meetings once a month and sometimes twice a month in order to get the science labs ready for drop-off.

We want to provide our peers with a safe place to ask questions and learn. Our goal is to educate students and to lead discussions on discrimination to make SRV more inclusive, equitable, and aware. We hope that through this club, students will build empathy and have a desire to fight for change on their own. Every week we (Anisha and Taylor) will be sharing our ideas and proposals to the Vice Principal, Ms. Hanley, in attempts to enact positive change at our school.
The first few meetings will include introductions and outline our goal of the club to our members. Each month, we will address the various topics of discussion on racism and discrimination of all kinds. At the meetings, discussions will be based on some type of media that club members were recommended to read, watch, or listen to. This could be a video, movie, podcast, speech, article, or book. The discussions are meant to be constructive, where everyone feels comfortable to listen and ask questions.

Yes, money is needed for gas if we are carpooling and renting surf equipment from the surf store.
Surfing is a huge interest of mine. The only kids I knew who surfed were older and now that they are in college I cant go with many people now. Id love to get more kids involved in the surfing culture because no matter how bad anyone is they always have fun it its always great to go out with new people and make new friends.
Hopefully each week I will send out a signup genius and for those who sign up I will set up cars that can shuttle kids who want to go. Unfortunately, I know that most trips Im not going to be able to find enough chaperones to take kids so most of the time it will be the first kids to sign up will get to go.

Wolves for Life

sr.tbrubaker@students.srvusd.net
YesWolves for Life is a pro-life club that focuses on serving women in need in our community who face unplanned pregnancies. We do a number of service projects and fundraisers that support pregnancy centers near by who give aid to women, and we educate our members about how to lovingly support mothers in need and how to constructively communicate their pro-life stance.Don Busboomdbusboom@srvusd.net
https://us04web.zoom.us/j/7641010066?pwd=UWVQcGJQREwxTFU2ckVRNEdpSFBBUT09
Every other Wednesday at lunch
Wolves for Life holds occasional fundraisers to raise donation money for various pregnancy centers and pro-life organizations.
The issue of unplanned pregnancies is close to my heart because of my story of adoption, and I felt compelled to take action in this area. I truly want to support women in need by raising resources and funds to make a tangible impact for those who face vulnerable situations. My goal is for Wolves for Life to establish a community that provides fellow SRV students with the opportunity to make change and to learn that standing up for a cause should involve actual service and action. Last year proved a success in educating members about the relevant issue, so this year we will focus on service. Through research and personal experience, I believe that a genuine pro-life stance means tackling the external issues that put women with unplanned pregnancies in a difficult position. I hope to help peers understand this goal and join the pro-woman, pro-life movement through this club.
We will meet every other week on Zoom at lunch and spend our time to discuss plans for service projects, which will take place outside of school. Service includes volunteering at a pregnancy center, holding a diaper drive, and raising funds that will go to support women with unplanned pregnancies financially. Because of COVID-19, fundraising and service events will be held virtually or in a safe, socially distant manner.

I want to start and be in charge of the YAF club at SRV because the club previously existed a couple years ago, and I found it engaging and interesting and want to re-start it. I believe it is important to de-stress and focus on something besides academics, especially with the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and being part of a club is a great way to achieve that goal. In addition, being part of a club help improve communication skills, fosters creative thinking, and teaches how to work effectively with other students. Also, extracurricular involvement in a club is one of the few ways colleges can gain insight into students’ interests and personality. I have an interest in politics and political speech, including from a conservative viewpoint, and believe the current lack of a conservative political club at SRV is a void that should be filled. As noted, the YAF club previously existed at SRV a couple years ago, but dissolved because no one continued the club last year. As a result, I want to re-start the YAF club to encourage thoughtful discussion of current events and political ideas.
Meetings 2 x per month (1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month)

Discuss current events and political ideas at club meetings

Conduct meetings via Zoom until school re-opens

When school re-opens, conduct meetings on campus during lunchtime

Possible speakers and/or videos to be shown at meetings to encourage discussion
