OverviewCompare products while you shop online with products on Amazon. The chrome extension pops up automatically on sites with products that are also listed on Amazon and presents those products inside the extension. "Amazon Assistant is a way to compare with Amazon products while you're shopping on other sites. See Amazon's 30-day price history on most products. Build off of Amazon Wish List by adding favorite items from other sites."Goodbuy is a browser extension that pops up alternative items from small businesses with values such as being sustainable, ethical, and minority-owned, etc. You can customize the types of businesses that pop up by customizing your preferences to the causes that you support. Goodbuy's website says they have a database of over 183,000 small businesses. They say "We're on a mission to make shopping feal good, by making conscious shopping easy. -To unite the small business community and bring next-level visibility to these exceptionally rad underdogs. Sook is an extension that connects shoppers to their local businesses within their area. It also shows relevant products (ideally, it is meant to but sometimes doesn't) from local businesses similar to the one that you are currently browsing. "Instantly discover and save on ethical, sustainable brands as you shop online.
DoneGood’s online shopping assistant automatically recommends the best ethical, sustainable brands as you shop on Amazon, Google, or other retail websites. Plus, with exclusive offers and discount codes for 25% off or more, you can easily shop your values while saving money at the same time."
"Say hello to your new Shopping Assistant
It's time to say goodbye to mindless shopping!

By using clever technology, Karma’s chrome extension can help you shop smarter and save you both time and money, automatically."
"The Miigle+ Browser Extension uses Artificial Intelligence to help you find ethical, sustainable and vegan-friendly brands when you're shopping online.""No need to use multiple websites, lengthy Google marathons, or hard-to-understand fashion indexes. Greenlight brings an all-inclusive ethical rating on the fashion brands you love less than a click away. We also recommend ethical alternatives to your favorite brands, making it easier than ever to shop sustainably. We’re looking to revolutionize the meaning of sustainable business by giving you the power to shop ethically."

Plus (Strengths)The chrome extension has a simple UX and pops up automatically. You can also have the ability to minimize it so that it doesn't stay covering your screen but you still have an indicator that it's there at the bottom of your browser. Once the extension pops up, you can browse products by scrolling side to side. Product has a great mission- to funnel more sales to small businesses with good causes.
User has ability to save preferences for the types of businesses that come up in results (and the causes they support).
This extension works well and has a great number of results. It has been popping up consistently as I surf the web.
Sook has a great UI where you can see a good amount of products within the extension. You cqn browse items both within the extension or it'll surface items as you shop online. Donegood has strong graphic design and pop up reminders (though it seems sometimes it doesn't pop up again after it pops up the first time on a site, even if the settings is on). There are lots of brands available. There are also tags within the extension that denote the causes each brand supports, Clicking on brands takes you directly to their website. DoneGood.co is also its own ecommerce website. Karma has a clean UX that can be emulated. It pops up automatically to remind you to save the product you're browsing for later to find coupons, etc. Miigle has a nice UX. Greenlight has a great cause to inform shoppers of the in-depth sustainability of the brands they shop at online. There is even a link to "Learn More" within the extension, and you can read all about the brand on a separate website.

Delta (Areas of Improvement)Can't see multiple products at a time- can only see one- however, this also can be a simple experience for the user because she/he is not overloaded with two many options. Can't filter, sort, or search for products within the extension- however, this encourages the user to go to Amazon right away. extension scrolls infinitely down without indicator of when it ends
Can have copy on extension around their goal of supporting small businesses.
Account info asks for name, email address, zip code, birthday, and gender, but the user has no indication what the information is used for.
The purple color on the extension may not be appealing for users.
Currently, there are a lot of manual instructions when first downloading the app to turn on your location preferences. It may be a huge deterrent to users when downloading the app. The extension doesn't seem to have individual products within the extension, just alternative brands and links to their websites. Maybe there is an opportunity for them to have a website?Miigle can add the capability to recommend more targeted and relevant social goods brands and specific products to what you're browsing online. Currently if you are looking at a dress, it just recommends brands in the clothing category. The sustainable brand alternatives recommended within the extension are not necessarily similar to the brand that the shopper is currently surfing online.

UX/Functionality Inspiration OpportunitiesBeni can get inspiration from Amazon Assistant's ability to pop up automatically, as well as be minimized so that it's not bothersome for the user as she/he browses. Beni can look at Goodbuy's user account and the ability to save preferences, and see values as tags in the small businesses within the extension. (ie. Maybe this can be how Beni would save preferences for different re-commerce sites, etc.) You can also see how they save items to favorites.Beni can see Sook's UI to see how expanded it is and how many products come up within the extension. Beni can look at the graphic design on DoneGood as well as its tags.Beni can look at Karma for its clean UX and its filtering capabilities and its bottom navigation menu.Beni can look at Miigle's bottom navigation menu, search and filter capabilitie, and the way products are displayed. Beni can adopt some ideas from Greenlight's sustainability ratings- maybe this information can be useful for users as they are shopping online?
