| Overview |
| This tool was created for the 2024 National Goaltending Symposium as part of the USAH Goaltending Gold-level certification program. It is intended to be used with the system and tools found in the online toolkit. Please consult the evaluation manual for a complete guide to the criteria and evaluation system. |
| You can find an instructional video on how to use the Google Sheets tool here. |
| |
| Getting Started |
| This spreadsheet is set to View Only. In order to use this for your own evaluations, please make a copy to your own Drive under File > Make a copy. |
| |
| Input |
| Use the drop-down menus in the Input sheet to enter individual evaluations. You may enter multiple evaluations for the same goalie and all will factor into their score so long as the same spelling of their name is used. |
| Goalie Level may be used for youth organizations that span multiple levels. If scouting for a high-performance organization, Goalie Level may also be used for information such as team or league. This field is used as a filter when comparing in the Charts sheet. |
| Evaluation Type may be used to differentiate looks such as scrimmages, skills sessions, combines, etc. If scouting games, you may also use this field to name the evaluation — for example, Game 1: Blue vs Red. |
| In line with the evaluation methodology in the Google Drive folder, criteria may be left blank and will not factor into the goalie's scoring. |
| |
| Evaluations & Comments |
| Use this sheet to find individual scoring for each evaluation along with comments. |
| |
| Goalie Scores |
| Use this sheet to find each goalie's aggregate scores across all looks/evaluations. |
| |
| Charts |
| Use this sheet to visualize each goalie's evaluation scores within a radar chart. Data Slicers are available at the top of the sheet to filter goalies by level and by name. The top chart is intended to compare multiple goalies and to show their performance against the baseline rating (a score of 0). |
| |
| Hidden Sheets |
| There are two hidden sheets that contain the formulas and pivot tables that power this tool. While the relevant cells are locked and will display warnings when changed, please use caution when editing any data outside of the Input sheet, as it may break this tool's functionality. |
