2017 Feedback1Well run. My hat off to the con comm folks who were patient with all feedback and as constructive as possible with it.
3
2017 Feedback1I had a great experience this year! It was a pleasure to speak, and I also had a great time attending other's presentations.
I can never say enough good things about the staff - Christie, Jessica, and Janet were particularly awesome and helpful to me.
4
2017 Feedback1This online/app schedule thing is awesome. I gave feedback on just about every session that I attended. Keep up the great work Penguicon!
5
2017 Feedback1This was surprisingly my first Penguicon, but definitely won't be my last. Next year's badge is already purchased! I felt really taken care of by both Ops and the hotel staff. And everybody I met was really amazing. I've gone to bigger cons before, but I have to say I was really impressed with how friendly and respectful this crowd is. Can't wait until next year!

Just a couple requests:
1) Bring back the ribbon tree! I was told this was the first year and I thought it was fun to go back and check every now and then to see if anything interesting appeared. I had some cool conversations with others that were by the tree.

2) Any way to increase the size of the open gaming area? A friend and I set up a game of Machi Koro to the side of the stairs to the second floor on Saturday night (near the dancing robots) and we had a lot of people come up and check out the game. I would imagine if we had more room, we may have had made new friends by adding them to the game.

3) For multi-part quests (e.g., the WoW questline), would it be possible to add a number to the turn in symbol, so we know we're going to the correct turn-in? We actually turned in Hogger to the wrong turn-in and jumped way ahead of the questline.

90-Second Reads1
7
90-Second Reads1It was challenging (especially since I had to scrap my originals, since my ten-year-old was unexpectedly with me) and entertaining. Fun idea!
8
A Cheesy Competition1Super fun, and the medals as prizes were delightful!
9
Ada Palmer Reads and Signs!1A big thinker and creator of new worlds. Her dedication to a well-crafted read that challenges the reader is rare.
10
Ada Palmer Talks About Weird Things in European History1This panel went for three hours inst of the scheduled half hour and it was amazing. I laughed, I cried, I was amazed, and I feel like I'm getting premature con drop just walking out of it. Yes, good, very good, A+++.
11
All About Tattoos1I love panels for people to learn about other trades from the people working in them.
12
An Experiment in Collaborative Art1(I thought i submitted this, but it says I didn't ) I loved this idea ! My only suggestion would be to have this in a dedicated space so people could work on it at will without interfering with classes using that space.
13
An Experiment in Collaborative Art1Very fun!
14
An Inside Look at the History of the Internet1
15
Ancient Egypt: Q&A1Very knowledgeable and considerate presenters
16
Ancient Egypt: Q&A1Excellent. Having Dr. Wilfong was great - he is a content area expert and really knew what he was talking about. Kemner, not as much - but at least he added some commentary. Great talk!
17
Ancient Egypt: Q&A0

Ancient Egypt: Q&A1
19
Anime Fanservice - Where Do You Draw the Line?0no presentation, given the time frame a more structure discussion might have helped. The presenters were knowledgeable and effective otherwise.
20
Anime In Spaaaace!1Great discussion, would like to see the list of anime used in the presentation
21
Anime In Spaaaace!1Look up Mighty Space Miners
22
Are You a Supertaster?1Lots of but.
23
Are You a Supertaster?1So much fun!
24
Artemis – Starship Bridge Simulator1I stopped by but didn't have time to play. I have got to set aside time to get into a game next year. Would like online opponents, maybe in another room!
25
Artemis – Starship Bridge Simulator1Alwas a thrilling adventure, even for first time players. This is one of the best offer gs at the con.
26
Artemis – Starship Bridge Simulator1
27
Artemis – Starship Bridge Simulator1Always fun to play some Artemis with folks. Even better with custom made touch panels and projector screen. Excellent game setup.
28
Ask a Baker1Lots of fun, and very informative
29
Ask a Baker1Informative, clear, useful. Cookies were amazing!
30
Asteroids and Planetary Defense1
31
Astronomy 1011Nice overview. Passionate speakers!
32
Astronomy 1031
33
Author Meet and Read, Vol. 10Not enough time between speakers for people to talk with authors and buy books. Consensus amongst all authors was that we wanted Writers Block back.
34
Author Meet and Read, Vol. 21More time between and after speakers. Why no Writers Block this year?
35
Avoiding Burnout as a Busy Person / Activist1Nice program. Good audience participation.
36
Avoiding Burnout as a Busy Person / Activist-1This was terrible. The presenter admitted to the audience that she had been so busy she just made her presentation 30 minutes before hand. Then she proceeded to just turn the conversation over to the audience. We left after a while.
37
Backcountry Camping0I really appreciated the show and tell, but would have preferred some sort of agenda or key points to hit.
38
Backpacking with a Hammock1Room-size and attendance were well-matched. I enjoyed the content, great questions were asked and answered many resources presented to continue with the topic on my own. Thank you Timm!
39
Bash on Ubuntu on Windows1Great informational panel. Hated that one attendee kept trying to disrupt the panel, they should have been ejected by security.
40
Basic Design of 3D Printed Firearms1This talk was awesome! It taught the fundamentals of design and the tools you can use to keep going while connecting you to the community. Great intro on an awesome topic!!
41
BBC SHERLOCK S4: What--?1
42
BBC SHERLOCK S4: What--?1Important points: NO panel should ever be put in the room[s] next to Geek Prom. That was horrible.

Despite that, the roundtable was a marvelous discussion with fellow fans, plus fan girls and fan boys. We had fun. Shared ideas, opinions, and what we loved and hated about the show overall and this season in particular.

About 12-15 people. 8)

Next time we should use the boardroom or some other 2nd-floor room where we can hear without shouting at each other. Thanks for another BBC Sherlock discussion, Penguicon; it was well worth our time!

51
Beyond Proprietary: The Code You Can Go to Jail for Writing1Great talk, if not a little oversimplified
52
Beyond Proprietary: The Code You Can Go to Jail for Writing0Panel was moved, schedule app was never updated with change.
53
Beyond Proprietary: The Code You Can Go to Jail for Writing1
54

55
Beyond Proprietary: The Code You Can Go to Jail for Writing1
56
Beyond Proprietary: The Code You Can Go to Jail for Writing1Interesting and exciting talk from the very well spoken Cory Doctorow.
57
Beyond the Binary1Needed to be longer. 45 minutes is not enough time for such a broad topic.
58
Beyond the Binary1Again, a great, educational panel with a libely group of attendees. I left this weekend with a much better sense of how to sort myself out before re-entering the dating world. Thank you again!
59
Beyond the Binary1Big topic, really could have used a 2 hour time slot.
60

61
BLACK BUTLER Tea Party1
62
Body Paint Cosplay Demo1This was a really great demo. Sarah and Al gave great commentary and they were funny, too. The artwork was incredible.
63
BoF: Old Woman Yells at the Cloud1I'm glad it went well.
64
BoF: Pokemon1Would have been nice to have an actual panel (with panelists) for pokemon. I would be interested in hosting one next year if you would like.
65
BoF: Talk About the Hundreds of Low Budget Sci-Fi YouTube Videos16 people showed up for this and we enjoyed sharing our thoughts on the You Tube videos.
66
BoF: Talk About the Hundreds of Low Budget Sci-Fi YouTube Videos1it was nice to learn about the sci fi short movies to check out. Thank you for sharing.
67
BSD Operating Systems in 20171This session needed a larger space. Michael Lucas is always a welcome speaker.

Butter Churning and Compounding1Great presentation, Paula Deen would be proud.
72
Butter Churning and Compounding1Absolutely wonderful! I had so much fun
73
CANCELLED Good Vibes and Other Modern Adult Toys-1
74
CANCELLED How to Survive in the Middle Ages0I cancelled because this was at 5pm on a Friday and a workday and I couldn't make it in time. It would be nice to be consulted about available times. We definitely had some issues as presenters (my husband, as well) trying to figure out what was going on....
75
Career Building Workshop: Kick-Off Session!1This was awesome! I love Overleaf!
76
Cemetery Iconography and Why the Victorians Loved Death1Good talk, liked the bookmarks but there were a few factual inaccuracies
77
Cemetery Iconography and Why the Victorians Loved Death1Very interesting
78
Cemetery Iconography and Why the Victorians Loved Death1Great job!!
79
Cemetery Iconography and Why the Victorians Loved Death1This was my session and although I thought it was scheduled WAY too early, it seemed to go well.
80
Cemetery Iconography and Why the Victorians Loved Death1Interesting
81
Censorship and Information Control1
82
Censorship and Information Control1
83
Censorship and Information Control1This was an AMAZING panel. I loved the popping back and forth between Doctorow's modern take and Palmer's historical take on this subject. My one negative feedback is that Ada Palmer was very hard to hear from the back of the room. The audience was super respectful though and everyone was very quiet but perhaps next year GOH talks could be miked?
84
Censorship and Information Control1This session far exceeded my expectations. Excellent talk by the hosts.
85
Censorship and Information Control1Cory and Amy were so amazing. It will be weeks before I get through all of the interesting things they brought up. Please have them back again.
86
Censorship and Information Control1Great!
87
Censorship and Information Control1
88
Censorship and Information Control1Great discussion and loved the medieval to modern times parallel comparisons.
89
Censorship and Information Control1The talk was great but the room needed sound equipment to carry across the disbursed crowd.
90
Chaos Machine1This is always fun
91
Chaos Machine1Really fun.
92
Character Sheet Personas: Using Your Gaming Experience In Software Development1Solid presenter, good engagement, little tight for time
93
Character Sheet Personas: Using Your Gaming Experience In Software Development0Too abstract. Defined what a character sheet in a game is pretty well but didn't make enough associations with how that relates to Personas in the workplace.

Putting names and pictures on Personas makes it very easy to start stereotyping or pigeonholing the underlying demographic or target audience, something I'd want to avoid if at all possible.

Presenter should have given the "FAQ" section before asking people to fill out the worksheet as that answered or helped refine questions that came up while trying to do the activity and helped make the entire talk less abstract.
94
Closing Ceremonies1Absolutely amazing 'con, can't wait until next year!
95
Closing Ceremonies1It was a good length and a nice end to things
96
Closing Ceremonies1Great job keeping the length down while still giving everyone times to say a few words and talk about highlights and information about next year. It could have stood to go another 10 minutes but I'm not complaining. :)
97
Copperhead OS: Security-focused Android and the F-Droid App Store1
98
Cory Doctorow Reads From His New Book WALKAWAY1As always Doctorow is awesome.
