Auditions for the Hoʻolōkahi Chamber Choir and our NYC Carnegie Hall Performance

Please read the following information carefully:

Auditions: September 2 and 3 (sign up below) in CAC 152 (Dr. G's office, an external entrance near the womenʻs bathrooms in the CAC).

Audition Prep: Please prepare one verse of a hymn for your audition, sung a cappella. Dr. G will also take you through some listening exercises to assess your musicianship.

Choir Meeting Time: HCC meets M-F at 1 PM in CAC 108 (the choir room). Our first rehearsal will be Wed, September 4th (the first day of classes).

We are traveling to NEW YORK CITY to perform at Carnegie Hall on May 11th, all expenses paid!

Note: Preference will be given to students who can enroll Fall/Winter and Spring (until May 11),

but some students may be allowed to join for a single semester or two if they don't plan to travel with us to NYC.

- HCC presents two full concerts each semester in addition to performing at university devotionals, touring, and collaborating with members of the local and global community.

Been in choir ensembles since 3rd grade, girls honor choir in middle school (7th and 8th grade), audition show choir in high school (2 years), and one semester (Winter 2024) of Seasiders.

Been in HCC for a year, sang in choirs throughout my life, started taking private voice lessons when I was 16

Choir member in ward and stake since 10; Joined singing contests as groups and in individual categories

2 sem in Seasider Choir, PH national choir competition, soloist, assistant coordinator for FSY Musical Program, Church District Music Director

Member of KHIS VM for 1 year ,sang in choral festivals in CA & HI and have been a part of choirs all over the West side of the states.

Been in HCC for almost 2 years (with the exception of some semesters) and I've been part of other choirs before coming here to BYUH.

I have done 6 years of choir, 2 years of chamber, been in opera voice lessons since 14 years old, been in more than 8 musicals, and I sing any chance I get.

HCC member since last year, Seasider singer member, filipino club singer for 2 culture night, music minor

Been a member of school and church choir every year, and 1 year chamber choir and vocal jazz ensemble in highschool. currently a music minor and did 1 semester of seasider singers

General Music, participated in Ko'olauloa Choir and ensembles, organized and accompanied 8 choirs in the Philippines

Been in stake choir back home, was a member of the seasider choir for a semester, and sing for theme song of fsy in Mongolian

I was a part of the ward and stake choir back home, I sang with my sister & mum for a few ward and stake firesides and have basic piano knowledge

1 year in HCC, Music Minor, participated in the Ko'olauloa Choir, Competed in National Choir Competitions for 6 years during high school, joined in musicals during high school, was a Music Major in the Special Program in the Arts in high school

I was in my auditioned high school choir all 4 years and I have done 1 year of HCC as well as singing in some other smaller choirs.

Been a member of HCC for 1 year and part of Seasiders before that. Also sang with multiple choirs and groups throughout high school
