3 | 1 | Complexities of Water - Investigating Clean Water for Community | In progress | How do we steward more effective science education? A demonstration of flyfishing as care practice, brought to you from the east coast of the US all the way to an outdoor Belgium's educational setup. | albertorey | Winnie | Alberto is an Distinguished Professor at the State University of New York in Fredonia, has been the founder and director of a youth fly fishing program for 18 years and is a fly fishing guide. For the past 20 years he has been working on art that tries to reconnect communities to their local bodies of water to become more sensitized to the complex issues that affect them. | yes | LCD projector and speakers. I have a documentary from the project that can be presented.. Rods, reels, a school group, fly fishing coaches | jrey@e2ccb.org, jasondilworth@gmail.com and ngunner@orbitist.com | There are two streams in Brussels that might be a better stream to investigate than the Seine:Maalbeek, and Woluwe as well as several ponds. There seems to be fishing opportunities in Brussels in Laeken: (lespecheurslaekenois.com/ind... ) and outside of Brussels in Wallonia (peche.tourisme.wallonie.be/p...). It might be good to partner with Michieles Fishing Center in Brussels and other organizations mentioned in angloinfo.com for more specific assistance finding bodies if water to investigate including water quality and fly fish. |
4 | 2 | Organizing the open science behind open insulin | In progress | One in two people who need access to insulin lack it. Centralized production neglects them and work on diabetes cures stagnates. OpenInsulin is working to decentralize production and create a commons where more people, including patients, contribute to solutions. The project started in Oakland and is now mobilizing groups across the world. What are we learning about doing open research and how to do it in a sustainable way? | Anthony Di Franco | Winnie | Can be compiled from https://edgeryders.eu/en/node/6664 | yes | 2 Organisational design experts, other project leaders | https://edgeryders.eu/nl/node/6664

12 | 1 | Policy Redesigned - collaboratively rewiring inclusivity in to policy | This session will showcase a collaboration between a range of partners in City of Milano in response to legislative system failure to address accessibility issues for residents with mobility issues. Partners came from sectors as diverse as social research, public administration, design, social innovation and policy. Through a process of dialogue with stakeholders, they uncovered the extent to which the protocols of the legislation were in fact an obstacle to compliance. Through iterative processes of experimentation they have gone on to produce Open Rampette. Through this session the Milano team will share insights and open up dialogue to explore the key ingredients of their approach such as; collective intelligence, understanding needs of all stakeholders, social innovation and co-design. Participate in a moderated discussion to share collective insights as to how policy is ‘enforced’ through collaboration. | Matteo, Rosanna, Costantino tbc | Gehan
13 | 2 | The Edge of Funding - Sustainability and Financial Models | You want to sustain the good work you are doing. 14 | 3 | Structures, decision making and collaboration | Collaboration is more needed than ever to solve complex problems in care. Yet it can be expensive in time and energy when working outside formal grids, or on a voluntary basis, or in emotionally demanding environments. This kind of work calls for new governance structures and ways of making decisions together based on values that sometimes seem at odds - like self-management and autonomy. This session brings together people who have experience of wrestling with these issues to find an equilibrium which makes it possible for us to work together well. | John, Yannick, Cindy Regalado tbc | all
