12/17/2024 17:02:19Ron JewellPioneer Long TrailCleared some branches and the small tree across the trail. Looks good both directions from old mail rd to swinging bridge. The swinging bridge holds water in the middle of it. Maybe a drain hole would help. Also, one of the wooden steps on the south side of the bridge seemed a little loose.Closed

4/3/2025 16:10:04Ron JewellOvernightTrailSome trimming and limb removal. Mostly survey of trail conditions .Trail is overall navigable. However, there are a couple of spots that will need a small re-route. Also, one spot that will need a longer re-route. Perhaps 100ft? I took about 50 pictures before my phone died. I can send them with gps coordinates if interested. My thoughts are most of the trail could be cleared with a small chainsaw, handsaws, loppers, and pruners. Some spots will require larger chainsaws. There are 2 new bridges that have been built and one left that needs re-doing. I assume park rangers are doing these.Open

5/4/2025 13:52:47Jane Messerich Pioneer Long TrailA very large tree has fallen from the creek over the bridge. It is very difficult to get a straddle to get over it. I do not recall the number for the 911 but it’s just above the kiosk on the short trail you go up and you cross over the bridge to put you on the other side of the creek. It will take several people to work. It is a large tree.Open
