This list of pre-administration items is to be completed by the TEST ADMINISTRATOR prior to the start of any state assessment. A member of the pre-administration check team should visit each test room prior to starting the exam to ensure the TA has completed all items and needs no assistance/has no questions prior to starting the state assessment.

Attend Test Security & Confidentiality TrainingCompleted prior to test day

Initial the oath and return it to your Campus Coordinator

Read the campus training materials

Read the appropriate grade 3-8 STAAR or EOC Test Administrator Manual BEFORE the day of the test(s).

Prepare the room/testing area. (Remove or cover test info on walls, ask custodian to replace necessary lights, provide space between desks, and check that there is nothing inside the desks.)

Seating for examinees is appropriately spaced and testing dividers are in place, if needed

Dictionaries/thesauri/bilingual dictionaries are available for each appropriate test (one copy for every 5 students)

Check out materials from CTC. Count the materials and initial the Materials Control Form. Secure (lock up) materialsBefore you hand any test materials out

The classroom door is locked per district policy for student and staff safety

Place a “Testing – Do Not Disturb” sign on your door.

Place Telecommunication Device Policy at front of test room

Students have within reach their lunch, money for lunch and a book to read when finished testing

Students other personal materials (including purses) are placed out of reach

Each student is using a #2 pencil (not a pen or mechanical pencil)

Highlighters have been provided to students who request them

Students have access to handheld calculators for the appropriate Math and Science tests (if applicable)

Test Administrators understand the policy and procedure for clearing calculators (math/science tests if handheld calculator was supplied)

Read the “Testing and Telecommunications” policy aloud to your examinees at least three times before the test each day. Collect all phones and electronic devices

Phones and electronic devices have been collected and stored securely

Take attendance before testing begins and report absentees to the appropriate personnel.

Attendance form has been prepared and ready for pickup along with testing materials for absent students

The “ABSENT STUDENT” form has been completed and retained for return at the end of the day

Verify each students ID and all students are in the correct test location

Each student has the correct test ticketVerify PRIOR TO/WHEN students logging into the test platform

Each student test ticket has the correct language (grades 3-5 only)

Each student approved for Supplemental Aids (or other external supports) has been provided the necessary supports
