The cemetery is off to the right about a mile.Senator Alexander Buckner, his wife and their servants all died within a matter of hours apart and were buried immediately east of their home under a tree. Only large limestone rocks mark their grave. Senator Buckner was MIssouri's third senator serving from 1830 until his death in 1833 from cholera. Years later the bones of what was hoped to be Buckner and his wife were given an honorable burial in Old Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The other graves remain on the Buckner Farm south of Jackson.

The cemetery is off to the right about a mile.According to the Southeast Missourian Newspaper (20 Jun 1969), some Civil War Soldiers were buried behind the Old Buckner barn (see Buckner Cemetery). The Buckner Family and their servants died of cholera in 1833. The land was later purchased by Luke Randol. There were actually two barns near this location. Both have been destroyed years ago. Unfortunately, not much information is known about this cemetery.
