Only large limestone rocks mark their grave. Senator Buckner was MIssouri's third senator serving from 1830 until his death in 1833 from cholera. Years later the bones of what was hoped to be Buckner and his wife were given an honorable burial in Old Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
