5/26/2015 17:26:38Roads were a little muddy and there was a significant amount of new "gravel"...... the "gravel" was actually very large crushed concrete and limestone.Recommend you bypass the Ripley Inn and go down the road about two miles and stay at the Best Western. The folks at the Ripley Inn were nice, but the rooms were saturated with cigarette smoke and they had no ice machine. One of our riders wouldn't even take his shoes off while in the room.Dakar rider

5/27/2015 18:29:17Started the trail today 5/25. Camped at Holly Springs National Forest, Puskus Lake. Big rain storm passed through during the night but trails in good shape 75% road, 25% trail. Rolling hills. Joined the trail just below Oxford (Subway POI). Oxford - Ole Miss Campus. Holly Springs National Forest, Puskus - just a couple of miles off the trail. $7 a night. No water/elec, valut toilets. Camp sites right on the lake. Pay on the honor system but it does not look like anyone collects. Nothing at the end of this section (Tillatoba) but a gas station. Nice people. No shade.cgav8r

12/29/2016 13:30:21Make sure you stop at the all american restraunt in Tillatoba. Harvey Darby is the restraunt owner and keeps a log book of the riders. You can fill up on gas and food. I had breakfast and my friend had a true southern lunch. Two ktm 500's ride the TAT

4/26/2017 18:11:334/23/17Mud on many of the roads through Holly Springs Forest and we did this section in the dark. Gets you sideways in a hurry. Would be beautiful in the light I think. drjdvm

7/8/2017 20:17:13CR-285 after Paris is closed for a bridge replacement.
At the Bridge Out sign:
Detour to the right on CR-284 then
Turn left onto CR-287 and follow it back to CR-285 to
complete this section thru the woods.
One other Road Out signage but it appears to be repaired.
Drove over the dip/repair and had no problems with the Jeep.

Road gets muddy from timber trucks in places be careful.

7/17/2018 16:30:40Good gravel roads through the woods and forrests. After a thunderstorm the gravel roads become muddy and very slick, cannot reccommend trying if on a larger adventure bike in the wet.Dirt=Life
