Jake BrookerJake as the Welfare Officer has done an amazing job this year. In a quite challenging year, he has been there for anyone who had a tough time. He has made sure all students can have access to welfare products normally offered for free from the GCR and has led his welfare team to various awareness events this year.
Not only did he work hard in his position as GCR Welfare Officer, he also helped to coordinate the formation of the GCR Allotment society that is run together with local residents!

Christos VlahosChristos has been incredibly useful in all areas of college life, even if not noticed obviously. He's always been happy to help in any aspect, regardless of what it may be!

Connor ArmstrongConnor has worked his butt off for the GCR the past three years and deserves enormous credit for his tireless contribution to college life, prior to and during the pandemic. Whether it's filling in as a great quizmaster, hosting the virtual Ustinov Lives, presenting the Virtual Ustinov Day alongside Diana, or delivering food for our online formal/social events, Connor has helped maintain a sense of community during the most difficult possible time to do so. On top of all this from the past year, he's been running exec meetings as Chair and helping us all do the best jobs we can.

Sorcha GrantAs a new member of Ustinov and Durham University, Sorcha has rejuvenated the social scenes of college, despite some of the most unpredictable and turbulent circumstances we could face. All credit to her for trying to make the best of a bad situation!
During a time when it was prohibited to be social in person, Sorcha did a fantastic job organising social activities for Ustinovians during various periods of restrictions, both through creating virtual events and facilitating activities in the bar. A notable highlight was the jazz and cheese evening.
It has not been an easy year for social activities but Sorcha in her role as GCR Social Secretary worked hard to make them happen! I particularly enjoyed the cheese & wine & jazz evening she organized.
Sorcha has tried really hard to organise events in a time that not much was possible. She has always been looking for fresh ideas and how her events could make this year more enjoyable. Now she's in the centre of organising the biggest events of the year, the coming formals and the BBQ. Without her efforts not much of that would be possible.

Jake BrookerAs the welfare officer, he has been instrumental in ensuring the welfare of not only himself, his household, but the entire college, and probably beyond that. He is always there to speak to, whenever needed.

Bryony RogersBryony did a great job as Tech Officer this year organising virtual Ustinov Live events to showcase musical talents from the college, and she also made a fantastic contribution to the Virtual Ustinov Day behind the scenes. She's working very hard currently to organise the summer BBQ.

Christos VlahosHe has worked very hard on making it possible for the gym to be opened and on getting outdoor training slots for our sports teams whenever it was possible as Ustinov has no sports courts of our own. Thanks to his continued effort, Ustinovians will also soon be able to buy our very own sports stash!

Anna GangiAlways a wonderful person to chat to.
Our lovely receptionist has been a ray of sunshine for anyone passing through reception throughout the lockdowns!
Anna has been doing an amazing job for so many years. She's always there in the reception ready for a nice chat, always keen on helping you with any problem you might have. Especially this year she has helped with many other things like monitoring the gym access during the day and college life would be far worse without her here!

Thom Addinall-BiddulphHe wrote a nice Ustinov quiz for the 100th anniversary of Peter Ustinov's birth, it had a good balance of difficult and easy questions!

Vera BieberShe only hosted the latest quiz but you could tells it was about a subject she loves, the Eurovision. All rounds had some questions that you could answer even if you don't really know the theme and some for the people who are just as enthusiastic about it. Not all rounds had to do directly with the theme but you could find at least a small reference to it. A great all-around quiz!
