Stemple Ridge Rd. / Snake Rd. Intersection 53N/AThis is the place to shortcut the 100 course: Continue straight on Stemple Ridge Rd. instead of turning left on unmarked Snake Rd. In four to five miles, once the route reaches Aurora, turn right on US Route 50. Follow to Brookside/Underwood Rd. Total distance for this loop: 70 miles. **There are no easy exits after the route descends Snake Rd.**

Rates seem to be between $20-35 for a camp site, although some sites have electricity and hot showers might be available. Country Store is open seasonally, but not likely after Labor Day.

Both are nearby the interstate. Friendsville Public House Restaurant is located on route in town. Open Sun-Thur 11 AM - 10 PM, Fri & Sat 11 AM - 12 AM. Sunset Inn Hotel (301-746-5445)... Not sure if the Sunset Inn is still open, however. There are also two small town parks in Friendsville, both off route. Both specifically state not to camp overnight, but if you're desperate, I doubt you'd get into serious trouble. Still, please exercise caution if doing this, and public/liability disclaimer: camping in these parks is not sanctioned nor endorsed by the race.
