General InformationFor PS3/Wii U dongles and iOS guitars

NOTE: If you're using this for a PS3/Wii U dongle, try GHLPokeMachine first. It's much easier to use.

Dongle PlatformGuitar platform for this column only1. Download GHLtarUtility and extract the contents of the downloaded .zip into a new folder. Make sure you get the actual release and not the source code!

However, not all dongles work on PC. Some of them require third-party drivers, not all of which have been made yet.

2. Download the ViGEmBus Driver and install it.

Without these drivers you will encounter issues such as W2 and W3 not registering and strumming not working while pressing any fret.
(If you're not on Windows 10, you'll need to install an older version.)

Windows 10238343. Close the Options tab, then select the Guitar Hero device in the dropdown menu. If you need to verify you selected the right device, both the PS3 and Wii U dongles have a USB ID of 12BA 074B.
