The Penn Rising Scholar Success Academy (PennRSSA) is a free, virtual, college preparatory and career exploration program designed for rising high school seniors across
Philadelphia. Rising seniors enrolled in School District of Philadelphia, public charter, and Archdiocese of Philadelphia high schools are eligible to participate in either of our two programs regardless of their academic record.


It is an online intensive 6-week program for rising seniors only.
Rising SeniorsWho: Any Philadelphia Rising Senior (Public and Charter)

Where: Virtual (optional field trips)

The UPenn RSSA Open OpenRSSA is self-paced online course open to all high school students on the topics of career exploration and personal finance. The Career Pathways mini-course was developed in partnership with eleven of Penn’s graduate schools: Communication, Dental Medicine, Design, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Arts and Sciences, Social Policy and Practice, and Veterinary Medicine. Applied Economics and Finance is a course designed by Wharton Global Youth Program, focusing on money management and financial decision-making. The course begins by providing a comprehensive understanding of the concept of money and its functioning in the world.9

UPenn Carey School of Law
Pre-College Academy
The Penn Carey Law Pre-College Academy is a rigorous academic program that gives high school students from around the world the opportunity to experience law school at a world-class university. The Pre-College Academy is a three-week program exploring U.S. Law, the legal profession, and topics such as business law, legal advocacy, human rights, and sports/entertainment law. In addition to attending lectures by the law school’s standing faculty, scholarship students receive full admission to the program, covering most activities and materials, as well as housing on campus and most meals during the three-week period (a value of $9,499). 9
