We share a tenant with another (very separate) library. So we have a custom field of "Home Library". This is a dropdown where staff can select which of the two libraries this patron record is associated with. I think it is probably best to display it in the User Information or Extended information accordion. Michigan State UniversityExtended information

We have an "MSU Affiliation" field that is populated by a nightly feed from the University. For fac/staff records, it displays "FAC/STAFF" and the date the record was updated. This lets us know that the patron is active fac/staff. For student records, it displays "ENROLLED SPRING 2023" and the date to let us know the most recent semester the student is enrolled in. We have two separate custom fields - one for MSU Student Number and one for MSU Fac/Staff Number. It would be really helpful if these displayed in the User information accordion. Michigan State UniversityUser information

We have a custom field for "Web Guest" access. Public patrons can only use our guest full access computers one time per month. So, we put the date they last used it in this field. It could be displayed in "Extended Information" Michigan State UniversityExtended information

We have a consortum with our local Middle Schools (soon to be HS & ES) and use two custom fields:
Student Information which includes their student ID, grade and school name.
Homeroom/Advisor which identifies that particular student's main point-of-contact at the institution.

We have a custom field for academic titles that we use as a reference for what documents we need for renewing the library cards of academic staff and for how to address them when writing emails. We have a custom field "old library card ID number" - if the library card is lost, the library card number is changed, but as this is required for the interlibrary loan registration, the old number must also be saved temporarily until the interlibrary loan registration has been changed.
