UNC's Office for Diversity and Inclusion is pleased to announce that they're accepting nominations and applications for their signature summer programs.
Project Uplift enables high-achieving rising seniors to experience college life on the Carolina campus over two days in May or June.
Uplift PLUS is a rigorous 5-week program for high–achieving, in-state, Project Uplift participants. Students participate in a three-credit English course, engage in research, and much more while staying on campus. Students may express interest in Uplift PLUS by writing a supplemental essay within their Project Uplift application. There is no separate application.
The North Carolina Renaissance (NCR) program invites rising juniors from rural North Carolina communities for an educational four-day enrichment program in July.

A residential, on-campus summer program for high school students, Frontiers is celebrating more than 30 years of challenging participants to explore the outer limits of their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with current laboratory techniques and exploring unsolved problems across a wide spectrum of disciplines.
Frontiers participants will be utilizing state-of-the-art technology and facilities, and enjoy added activities such as evening workshops, field trips, movies, live performances, and tournaments. Throughout each session, teens will focus on one STEM discipline and enroll in one humanities workshop of their choice. Learn from WPI professors and graduate students while using experimental, analytical, and computer technology. Registration will open December 15, 2017.

Through engaging lectures and class activities, site visits and guest speakers, students will have the opportunity to earn three credit hours and compete for up to $10,000 in UD scholarship dollars in an elevator pitch competition — all while living on campus and experiencing life in Dayton.

LEADERSHIP 101 – June 17-29
What makes someone a great leader? Open to rising high school juniors, seniors and first-year college students, this two-week experience will help students gain an understanding of the foundations of leadership, assess their leadership behaviors and preferred leadership style, discover the five practices of exemplary leadership and create a personal leadership development plan. This highly interactive session includes extensive discussion and collaborative exchange of ideas, leadership assessments, class and individual exercises, guest speakers and site visits.
